@psuedospike I have a solution to your problem...READ the review...then say "Pikmin" out loud everytime you come across it. Then you can enjoy the satisfaction of hearing yourself pronounce it.
@equinator3 Yeah I remember Skyward Sword, played it, beat it, and I wouldn't score it above an 8 and I'm a huge Zelda fan. I think it received a 7.5 from this site? Which means it is a borderline good/great experience..which is exactly what I got from it....but I guess it should automatically be a 10 in order for it to sell to the masses...right
@RPG_Fan_I_Am Play it for yourself...and then you can agree/disagree with Tom...I'd say he is close to being spot on...besides...8 is a great score...as many have said below. Some of the best games I have personally played have received an 7-8 from this site...it's all about personal preference.
@willzihang Here is brand marketing for you...on Gamespot...
Resident Evil 6 (Should I go further because I can think of all kinds of titles that have scored low, that have "brand marketing" in the name.)
I highly doubt you have played this game...I doubt you even have a WiiU, so really your comment is completely invalid when you try to justify why McShea gave it an 8, bumping it up a couple of points just because it has a Nintendo logo on it. If you would like, I'll go above and beyond and find you at least 10 games that have the brand name, that didn't necessarily get that "curve" that you seem to think Gamespot grants to games like this.
@willzihang Yeah that's it! You're onto something there, Tom McShea looked at the sticker and said, "I'm scoring this game 2 points higher than what I would normally give it because it says Nintendo on it." ...*sigh*
One of these days, everyone will realize that reviews are objective, and their sole purpose is to give you insight or whether or not you will enjoy a game. 8 is a GREAT score...so I'm failing to see how this reflects on the WiiU being a crappy console, or this game being a flop.....
@AtariKidX You mean one more Great game for the WiiU...8 is hardly a flop. My lord...everything has to be a 9 or 10 with people like you...pathetic...I bet you miss out on a lot of games if you base whether you play them on a number that is considered high on a game that is considered great.
@Pre_ordered_PS4 Yep..90 percent of the population agrees with you on how you feel about the TLOU, however, diversified opinions, whether good or bad, are always welcome and that is why he is a professional and you are the one complaining about his ability to review a game from a balanced perspective...besides, if this game got a 10, I'm pretty sure you would be all bent out of shape, because your precious TLOU got an 8. My point...WHO CARES?! It is a review to help you get a general idea of what to expect when making this purchase...even if you take it with a grain of salt...8 is a GREAT score...and justifies how great this game is.....go cry somewhere else.
