@CommodoreRaslin We did ask for it because we support it through all forms of social media. How many of these people have a Facebook or Twitter account? How many times do you use a search engine a day? Everything you do with technology (when using any form of a network) solicits your information to higher bidders. We are okay with this because we consistently support it with money and comments. Did you complain about your smartphone before you made the decision to buy it? When you bought it, you agreed to have your privacy violated...its a part of the phones functionality...
@berserker66666 I will be purchasing both consoles. Hell I've already decided I'm buying a PS4 and I don't even know what it looks like yet...so not sure if it will make "roadkill" out of the Xbox as you put it.
@maytassatyam Actually you can use Windows 8 without being connected to the Internet...you also don't even need a live account. They will eventually do this with Windows...just not right now. Btw, Windows 7 does it, XP did it, and Apple does it with all of their products also...so..not sure what point you're trying to make here...
Still waiting for someone to make a rational argument about privacy...you smart phones violate it everyday and yet millions of us still buy them every year. That sends a message to corporations like M$ does it not? I don't agree with the business strategy of violating privacy on a gaming console, however, as consumers this is the message we have been sending for years. Social networking is at its peak, and Microsoft is simply just drinking the Kool-Aid.
