@Kyrylo Right, third parties...and I do agree with you, the WiiU does need some of those to survive. Hopefully Watch Dogs, AC4, and Splinter Cell will shed some light in that dark tunnel. They do have some decent third party games that came out at launch, however, I like most people refuse to pay fully price for those games on the WiiU, when I can enjoy them at half the price on the 360/PS3.

@blueinheaven

I don't feel the WiiU is all that under powered though. This "Next Gen" jump isn't going to be like it was last time around. I would also like to note that the Xbox One completely reversed its DRM policies, something that Sony would have also been guilty of had Microsoft's announcement not caused so much buzz. Nintendo never had any plan to implement DRM into their latest console. Also, what exactly is the standard these days for "next gen" games?

I also don't believe Nintendo is blaming anyone but themselves in their current predicament as there are many official statements out there where Nintendo apologizes to it's fans. Nintendo knows its game library is short, and they are trying to roll out their primary exclusives as fast as possible to change that.

Lastly, you are right, it shouldn't matter to me either way, as it shouldn't matter to you what I think about all of this. However, the both of us are still here putting in our two cents....

@martingaston I would LOVE to see this made...even if they stuck with the 2-d mechanics and update the graphics engine. I forgot all about that game......

@Kyrylo I'm not trying to convince you to buy one. You obviously have your niche that you are interested in, and the WiiU has not provided that niche for you. I understand the Zelda and Mario reference, as they are two of Nintendo's biggest IP's, in fact, they are game icons. Put those aside and what does the Wii have? Did you look at the list??

Let me reiterate..

Mad World

No More Heroes

No More Heroes 2

XenoBlade Chronicles

Metroid Prime 3

Metroid Other M (Which I personally loved, but some hated it due to the dumbed down exploration element that made the prime metroid games great.

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Which is an awesome game in its own merit, even if you dislike Mario and Zelda)

Deadly Creatures (Which is a very different, but interesting)

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Muramasa: Demon Blade

Monster Hunter Tri

The Last Story

Those are all notable games on the Wii......

@Kyrylo Yeah, but really every console lacks exclusives if you look at it on a broader scale. On every console, exclusives often take advantage of the power and configuration that is specific to the console you play them on. I used to hate third party titles prior to the latest generation of consoles simply because from one system to the next, they felt different. Nowadays, you see a lot more third party titles firmly grasping the power properly of the console they play on. Frame rates still tend to tear from console to console, however, at least they are improving.

I personally have a lot more fun with the exclusives over the third party titles which is probably why the WiiU (and every Nintendo product) appeals to me. While I enjoy the stories and adult content that often favors Microsoft and Sony's platforms, I typically have the most fun playing Nintendo games.

http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/27178225/ps3-exclusives-vs.-wii-exclusives

An example would be on this forum here, where an individual highlights how many more exclusives (at this point in time) the Wii had over the PS3. Now I'm sure anyone could make the "quality over quantity" argument, however, the argument I see most has to do with the quantity of exclusives that are available to Wii/WiiU owners.

The WiiU will eventually get a similar library of exclusives and more despite their slow launch. They will be fine once they accumulate 20+ exclusive titles that are worth playing and if you ask me, that list all of us are waiting on is beginning to reveal itself now.

@Kyrylo My message is generally directed at everyone who thinks "Nintendo sucks" and does nothing but hop onto WiiU forums to bash it..

@Kyrylo

There are a handful of "Nintendo Fanboys" that insult other systems, however, I am afraid I see a lot more hatred for Nintendo than any other console, especially here in Gamespot's forums.

Why bash or put down any console that is out? They all have their pros and cons...

To everyone here that gets their kicks busting on Nintendo's Wii/WiiU:

How many of you buy all of the consoles to experience all of the decent exclusives?

Why does someone have to be considered "A Nintendo Fanboy" if they appreciate the content Nintendo has to offer?

Exclusives generally come out at a slow pace. I'm willing to bet when the PS4 and Xbone release, you will see much slower development rates on the exclusives for both systems, which is okay, because they have the third party titles to keep gamers busy until they come out. While I don't think Destiny or Killzone 4 will suffer from bad reviews, exclusives like that don't come out very often. If both of those receive less than a 9, will everyone here rage with hatred towards the reviewer because he/she seems to feel that the game perhaps doesn't do anything innovative, and at the end of the day it is just another great enjoyable game?

If you want to make a rational argument against Nintendo's WiiU, rationalize with the lack of third party support. I find it most interesting that we compare a console to two consoles that haven't even launched yet...I own a WiiU, it is a good console, and when the great games come rolling in (which they will) it will be defined by them. Am I expecting it to win some sort of console war? No...however, it has come a long way already despite its slow launch and many of you would probably be surprised by how enjoyable it can be if you just gave it a try. Zombie-U, Pikmin 3, and now this game are all wonderful games to add to your library. As for third party games, the WiiU has some decent titles, however, they were ported to the console after everyone bought them on everything else. This doesn't make the console suck, it just makes it less appealing to someone who enjoys third party games.

@BradBurns I agree, and I am all for the little guy when something like this happens. I just find it hard to feel sympathy for someone who really thinks a billion dollar corp is going to, in good faith, not rip him/her off. Every corporation like Nintendo got to where they were by making some angry. The entire industry is polluted with people who have back-stabbed one another, it's a part of the game. Its unfortunate yes, but that is the way it is.

@BradBurns I don't disagree with you, however, my stance on this is every man for himself because that is the world we live in. If you come up with a product that introduces an entirely new element, it shouldn't be a mystery that people are going to want to try it out. That said, there are many ways to protect your ideas and I find a hard time feeling sympathy for those that don't.

Also, Nintendo is going to appeal this lawsuit...so hopefully Mr. Tomita doesn't get stomped in the courtroom.
