mitu123 Blog

mitu123's 100k post party(56k beware)/Blog 444/Games I got and is getting,etc.

Yes, this is real, I do have 100k(and more after this post)now.:| Here's proof, lol:

Anyways, yeah, I recently beat inFamous 2 and wonder how it got a 7.5 here. Recently tried the Back to Karkand expansion for BF3 and I love it, better than the maps that BF3 started with. Just got The Witcher 2 for 24 bucks and it's an awesome game so far. I'm getting Uncharted 3 soon since I ordered it from amazon and should come tomorrow or Monday. As for more games, well, it's expected around Christmas time to have 3-4 games, but more if I shop on Steam, lol.

But you guys didn't just come here to hear my update, you just want a party, well, I got one for you, I'll list a fav 5 for movies, shows and games in no order and get on to the excitement, enjoy:

My fav 5 shows:

My fav 5 movies:

My fav games:

And now the rest...

And now for most of the babes of 2012(though not all are confirmed as there will be changes, most will come):

Have fun.:P

Level 56 and Onlive: Is it worth it?

Since last year there's a service called Onlive that came out. Now what is it you ask, well, it's basically a service that lets you play PC games only needing an internet connection. In theory, this is a cool idea, but in execution, well, it's not so pretty, I'll list the pros and cons of it.

Pros:

Accessibility-Don't know how to upgrade PCs and figure which parts you need to be able to run a game? Have no fear, Onlive is here, as you just need an internet connection, that's all. Just download the program, install it, create an account, and you're set. Pretty easy eh? If you want to play it on your TV, you can do that by either hooking your PC to a TV or buy a Onlive Microconsole for 100 bucks that includes a controller. Buying games is similar to Steam so there's nothing hard about that.

Being able to spectate-It's Xbox Live's cross game chat with a twist: You can watch people play games. That's right, a friend can watch you play a game. Do you realize how helpful this is for helping people how to play, where to go and just chat in general. IMO this is the coolest feature Onlive has.

Free Trials on most games-You are given 30 minutes to try full games, but better make the best of it as there are many to try, even on games you think wouldn't get a trial. I tried it on 4 games so far(as of this writing) and I want to buy some games now, lol.

And now for the bad, this will get ugly.

Cons:

Game selection-Well, it's still new, but honestly, it needs more games. This is the list of Onlive games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_OnLive_games

While you will find games you would want to play, I'm sure there would be more you would really want to play. Where's Skyrim, Sonic Generations, BF3, Crysis series, etc.?

Where's my options and files-Onlive requires you to be online 100% of the time. If a server goes down or your internet, you're out of luck. Yes, this includes single player games. There are no game files, so you can't tinker with any of them or play offline, and that's disappointing if you want more control. Speaking of control, it lacks being able to change any video options besides 1, lol. No graphical options is odd and you can't even change the res, you can at least change resolutions on consoles. Also no way to turn off v-sync which locks framerate. The restrictions prevent it from being the best experience.

Fast internet-You must have a fast ass internet to even try Onlive, because if you don't have one, your performance will vary and with v-sync on there's chances of input lag which you don't want.

Input lag-This is common unless you have great connection, and it makes certain genres like shooters hard to play. Basically, what action you do, like turn a mouse, will respond over a second later, and this is very, very bad for aiming, let alone movement. Games like Quake are impossible because that game series requires perfect aim to be good. Blame the lock on 60FPS people. I was playing Mafia II and I was like "Man, it's hard to aim, could had died at times too."

Performance-I'm not sure what it is, but I can never get constant 60FPS on any game I tried, not even on BloodRayne, a 2003 game, in fact, the whole game seemed to be in slow motion for some reason, I remember playing it faster than that. Games like Batman AC went under 30FPS at times, WTF? These games are at their lowest and I can't get better performance? That sucks. If they can take out v-sync, then maybe we can go over 60FPS for once and see what we really could get.

Lowest settings-To make games run good, every PC game is on low settings with no AA and 720p(1280x720). Now, if you don't care about graphics, that's fine, but honestly, you're better off going to play on a low end PC or even a console. At least you'll have options and should know what to play the game at smoothly. Plus the next reason will give you reasons to avoid it.

Compression and blurriness-My god, this is it, this is what will determine your fate in trying Onlive. Are you ready? Ok, do you want a clear picture? Well, good luck with that, because due to bandwidth, expect that to happen and it honestly ruins it. This alone will make you get a cheap PC or a console. The image quality is so bad that it can affect graphics as you can't make out what goes on, I mean, take a loook at this screen I took from Batman AC, just right click and then view image or copy url and paste into a new tab or copy image in new tab:

Note that it does that when action goes on, because Onlive can't handle it. Hell it still looks bad when you are just standing still, like this screen:

Even good looking games would look bad on it, like Metro 2033, yep, I have screens of that. Now lets compare the console version, the version it's competing against:

Looks much better and performs more consistent, lol. It's one thing to have low settings, it's another to have things that shouldn't exist. Man I wish it could go away.

To show how much difference it can make against a gaming PC, lets compare Metro 2003.

Onlive:

My PC:

Note that I got higher FPS and better graphics, what does that tell you? Exactly. I just compared screens of Onlive, console and high end pc gaming, and the difference clearly is there.

Conclusion:

Onlive needs work, it has cool ideas, but honestly it's not ready yet. If you want a simple PC experience and can put up with flaws, you can give Onlive a try. If you want the best versions, complete control over your games and want better graphics and performance, avoid Onlive like the plague, a console would be a better choice for even low end. Now going back to my gaming PC and consoles.

BTW I reached Level 56.

Today a hard game has been beaten...

And that game is Dark Souls. After spending nearly 62 hours(61 hours, 51 minutes and 28 seconds), a lot of deaths and patience, with the final blow to the ridiculously overpowering final boss(that can take you out in 4-5 hits) with a Crystal Halberd +4(my strongest melee weapon which still doesn't do a whole lot of damage to him but definitely better than the other melee weapons I have, Pyromancy beats all my melee weapons) the game is done and I chose the light ending. Note I'm at Level 73 as well.

As you know there is New Game Plus which keeps nearly everything including level, souls, equipment, kindles to bonfires, etc. But of course enemies do more damage and have more health, but is made up by getting 2-5 times the amount of souls you originally get. If I do play it I will focus on trying to become more powerful to use weapons I couldn't use before and try to do the dark ending.

But of course, I still have a backlog. I need to finish inFamous 2 and work more of ranking up in BF3(only at rank 13, lol). I can't wait until next month though seeing how I'm probably getting more games and such.

Also I'm going to be a Level 55 tomorrow.

GS hard on FPSs/Gaming Progress/Random Gaming News

Progress with certain Games

I'm doing the hero side for InFamous 2 and is getting further into it.

I am now a rank 9 in BF3 and this game is honestly best with friends, which I have a lot on Origin, playing with randoms can be so annoying.

I have put 18 hours into Dark Souls so far and is a Level 36, and wow, what a game. It's by far the most I'm playing right now, so hard yet so addictive and fun(when you're not dying). Now I'm in Blighttown and it looks like hell, lol. Main reason I'm playing it so much is to get far quickly since other games will take up my time.

Random Gaming News

The Simpsons Arcade is said to come to PSN/XBLA. This made my day as I remembered as a child playing the arcade game in those times and it was so much fun. Bring it on.

Battlefield 4 is said to be in development. When it's coming, who knows. I'm guessing 2013 at earliest. Oh man it's going to be the best looking game ever.:P

PETA is pissed off at BF3 because you stab a rat in the campaign. Really now, are you going to complain about that, it's a freaking rat, who cares? I never liked them, and they're sinking lower now.

Oh Capcom, they have done the unthinkable: Have cheats as DLC. For Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, you can pay 5 bucks to cheat in the game. Um, what happened to unlocking cheats...for free? There are many better things to spend 5 bucks on, lol. IMO Capcom is the worst at DLC.

This is funny:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-MW3-Xbox-360-NEW-/120805907934

No way you should pay that much for a game...

Star Wars Battlefront 3 may be confirmed to be in development, which is awesome, but I hear the devs are Spark Unlimited, which is NOT awesome as they make crap games, need proof, here it is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spark_Unlimited

Game is looking to be announced in 2012 as well. A shame really, I loved the 1st 2 and played the 2nd a lot, I want the 3rd one to be good but chances are low with these devs.

No FPS so far got a 9.0 on Gamespot this year

What has happened? Every year there would be 9.0+ for FPSs, last year we had Black Ops and Bad Company 2, 2009 we had Killzone 2 and Halo 3 ODST, 2008 we have Crysis Warhead and Resistance 2, 2007 we had Halo 3 and Crysis, etc. But in 2011 on this site, not a single FPS got 9.0+ so far, not even the expected MW3. Here's a list with scores:

Killzone 3-8.5

Bulletstorm-8.0

Homefront-7.0

Crysis 2-8.5

Brink-6.0

Duke Nukem Forever-3.0 on consoles and 3.5 on PC

F.E.A.R. 3-7.5

Operation Flashpoint: Red River-6.5

Hard Reset-7.0

Resistance 3-8.5

Red Orchestra 2-7.5

Rage-8.0

Payday: The Heist-7.5

Battlefield 3-8.5

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded-8.0

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3-8.5

Hmm, something's funny. Portal 2 got a 9.0 but that's a first person puzzle game so that doesn't count. Deus Ex: Human Revolution(8.5) and Dead Island(7.0) are hybrids and still can't get 9.0s, lol.

Will Halo break the curse? We'll see. In the meantime I'm waiting for Black Friday.

Level 54, New Game, Another Game Movie, Odd Sys Requirements

Level 54

I must be doing good to get this far.

My 1st New Military Shooter of the Year

So I finally got it, the PC version of course, lolconsoles(they're good, but not PC good).

So far I'm loving themultiplayerbesides a few things, but for the single player, eh, not really impressive, and I have yet to do co-op but I want to soon. But what's really impressive is how optimized it is.On highest settings the campaign does 30-100FPS with an average of 40-70FPS, and on my averagecpuwith 2gpusthat isn't so bad. The same can't be said for themultiplayermainly when rendering large environments, mycpuhates it. Normally it's 30-60FPS, but when rendering so much it dips into the 20s because thecpucan't keep up with thegpus, time for a newcpu.

Also, this game is a VRAM eater. On Ultra(highest settings) it can sometimes go over 1GB meaning it pushes my gpus to it's limits. With AA off in Ultra, it really doesn't get over 1GB from what I played and of course runs smoother. When I do get new gpus it will so be over 1GB, hopefully near 2GB or more. Hell, here's a pic of it using 1000MB(1GB), looks really good though.

Oh my, there's a Phoenix Wright movie

I wish I was making this up, but I'm not, not sure what to say about this, lol.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6342577/phoenix-wright-movie-in-session-february-11

GTA V and Just Cause 3 announced

Just Cause 3 is still rumored though should be announced soon, but GTA V is confirmed with a trailer to be shown next week. Sandbox heaven anyone?

Most odd system requirements ever

As you all know, we rely on system requirements when it comes to games, however, there is one game coming out soon that makes me baffled to no end, and that is this:

There is so much fail in this that I don't even believe it. Where do I begin:

1. The cpu: Granted, this is our least of the worries for the specs, but honestly, I don't think a game like this needs a cpu like that. I doubt it's rendering a lot on screen, let alone needing a quad core, but oh well, seems oddly cpu extensive.

2. The gpu: This is where it goes to hell. Honestly, unless this game gets a graphical makeover(in which I doubt it will seeing how long it took to develop the PC version), no way does this game need a gpu like that. That gpu's cheapest price is 470 bucks, and needing 1.5GB VRAM is absurd. What could it possibly be rendering with a game like that? Not to mention: It looks nowhere near as good as the best looking games, and requiring this gpu to max it out is stupid.

But here's a funny thing: That's for Nvidia users, for AMD, all you need is a 6850, which is about as powerful and as much as a 460(150-200 bucks), need proof, here:

Why are AMD owners lucky but not Nvidia owners like me. That alone makes the need for a 580 bogus.

3. The ram: 8GB RAM??? This has to be a joke, the highest I've seen is 4GB for some recent games. 8 is double that and this game must be resource hungry. I have 8GB RAM, I barely have enough to play the game.

Overall, I don't believe it. It will cost like near 650 bucks in gpu, cpu and ram alone to max it, and that's not counting everything else you need for a PC. I'll wait until I see how it runs for people, but for now, that has to be the most hilarious thing I've seen. BF3 has less demand than that and looks better, proof is in the requirements:

See ya, time for me to get back to the battlefield, and collecting souls, and becoming good/evil, btw I beat Resistance 3 as well.

I got 3 new games today and Level 53

Level 53

A few days ago I was on this level and wow, compared to the previous it's fast, like 7% a day.

The games

Originally the 1st one listed would be a Christmas present, like Demon's Souls was last year, but I got carried away and did the Toys R Us Buy 2 get 1 Free, so here it is...

What I got today:

And I'm expected to get a new game next week...oh dear at this backlog...

90k posts/New PC is here with pics/SLI talk/Simpsons going to end

Not too far from 100k now

What am I doing, lol. In some months I'll be with the 6 digits, oh well.

The Simpsons finally ending

After 2 more seasons, the most popular show on Fox will come to an end. Oh well, it was a fun ride back in the day as it was amazing(from 90s to early millennium), but it's obviously past it's prime. Wonder what will happen?

PC specs and pics

On Thursday it came in and I assembled it, but I spent Friday and the other day getting my files to the new hard drive and testing my games. Anyways, specs and pics:

AMD Athlon II X4 645 overclocked at 3.4ghz(stock at 3.1)

2 GTX 460s in SLI, 1GB PNY GTX 460 and 1GB MSI Cyclone GTX 460 overclocked to 800/1600/2000 when needed but normally at 726/1451/1800.

750 watt Silverstone Modular Power Supply

8GB Kingston Hyper DDR3 1600 RAM

Cooler Master Vortex Plus Cpu Cooler

Samsung Desktop Class Spinpoint F3 1 TB Hard Drive

GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3 AM3+ Mobo

Creative XtremeAudio Sound Card

Some Generic DVD burner

Outside:

Inside:

It has been amazing so far. And so much blue.:P

SLI and it's magic

I have tried all the games besides Crysis, Metro, etc. and not only does SLI work with them, but the huge increase in performance is mind boggling. What I basically have in comparisons to other video cards is a faster GTX 580(and that's a near 500 bucks gpu). Most games don't even go below 30 FPS and near or beyond 100FPS, but GTA4 and it's expansions does at times go below 30 but for the most part I can actually run it fine between 30-60FPS and sometimes it goes in the 80s. It even works on Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, a 2003 game(which I didn't think it was possible) and it added another 100FPS, lol, it's not needed for this kind of game, it works perfectly even at 30FPS. Note I haven't locked the FPS on these games yet so performance may be better, I'll tell another time. Note I can run the BF3 beta maxed out as well, proof is here:

I average 30-60(sometimes at points near 100 and low to higher 20s) in the game without the FPS lock.

Once I get the Bulldozer cpu I'm good for a while.:D

These upcoming weeks will be interesting.

Getting a new PC build soon/Transformers Trilogy/TV and Movie news

Mortal Kombat is back in 2013

That's right, the same director of the web series Mortal Kombat will come back to theatres in 2013. Finally, a rated R MK movie, lol. Just hope it's as good or better than the 1st and less like the horrible 2nd one. Will this finally be another high quality video game movie(one is Street Fighter: The Animated Movie)? We'll wait further for more news.

Arrested Development is coming back

One of the funniest comedies ever is coming back with a 4th Season, 10 episodes and a movie. All in 2013. I'm happy about the news, but this is going to be yet another long wait. Might as well do reruns while I'm at it.

Transformers Movie Trilogy

Yes, I'm late on this. I finally watched Micheal Bay's trilogy in a row like a marathon and honestly it's decent but with problems.

The 1st Transformers is the best overall with an easy to follow plot, some good jokes and action scenes that were well done. It certainly isn't a masterpiece and some things bug me, but it's a fun popcorn action flick that is enjoyable and that's all that matters. And because of that it's worth it.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is a piss poor sequel that is a letdown in every area but a few(some action scenes and visual effects). The plot is actually oddly enough hard to understand and follow with questionable logic, every single joke is terrible and some disgust me, some characters are just annoying and make me wish they no screen time(or even be in the movie), it has really stupid dialog that didn't make sense, some of the action didn't excite me and some special effects were far overdone. And despite being long it felt rushed with a horrible climax. I believe this movie is just a cash-in because there's no way this movie was made with quality in mind. Overall this movie sucks.

Transformers Dark of the Moon is vastly superior to Revenge of the Fallen in every way and is near but not quite up to the 1st in quality and in some cases surpasses it(most noticeably in action scenes). It's plot isn't hard to follow but certainly isn't deep, though better than the 2nd. And while it sadly had some bad things about it, and some of it reminding me of that trash, it's still closer to the original in most areas and was a entertaining watch. It's not special, but it's ok which is good enough.

Overall, Transformers>>>Dark of the Moon>>>>>>>>>>Revenge of the Fallen.

My new PC build is coming

Pic is a little old since my RAM already shipped, lol. Pics of rig will be shown as well.

A month later, I blog again and have things to tell, also, Level 52

Level 52

So finally after having to redo Level 50 and 51, I made it a few days ago, gee. Now I'm on moderation 63 though, lol.

Keeping my PC Blue and Cool

As time comes near for the new build, today I decided to buy 4 blue 120mm case fans to replace the 2 on top and add 2 to the side, and for the following reasons:

1. Aftermarket coolers are normally better.

2. Wanted to make it look flashy.

3. Cooling down not only the whole case but the 2 GTX 460s(and possibly cpu) is for the best to reduce heat.

When the new build comes, pics will be shown of course. I'll hope to replace the rear as well, and I already have a blue fan in the front anyways. As for the kind I got, here it is:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200049&Tpk=Rfa-120-bl

Dead or Alive 5 Announced

If you didn't know, I am a DOA fan of the fighting game series since the 1st and enjoyed them putting many hours into the games. Now a 5th is coming and that's, just, amazing. Now I notice this and Soul Calibur 5 will be out in the same year. Which game will be better? We'll wait and see, but by going by previous years I would think Soul Calibur has the edge, but I greatly preferred Dead or Alive 4 to Soul Calibur 4. And more Kasumi is never a bad thing.:P

Batman on PC gets delayed

This news makes me happy and sad at the same time:

Sad because I would want to play it, definitely before BF3. But happy so I can save up my money for pc parts and other games in the month, and yes, I have BF3 preordered on the PC. Now I have to decide for some other games to take up my time of course. Lucky console owners!

What games will you get in October?

Will I get a new 360?

If you didn't know, my 3rd 360 constantly freezes even before getting into the log in profile and has trouble reading new discs. Seems broke. So is it worth getting again? Unless I want to play XBLA games, Gears 3, Halo CE, Forza 4, Halo 4, play with friends and exclusives I missed, there isn't too much reason to get another now. Having been spending more time on PC and PS3 and Wii to some extent, it seems left in the dust. Oh well, I'll see about it. And should be a slim as well.

You must go to Subway!!!

And here's why:

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/11/subway-serves-cold-hard-uncharted-3-promotion-details-not-to/

In short, you get the full multiplayer experience before the game is out.:|

Battlefield 3 beta!!!

As you should know I'm a huge fan of BF and with the beta next week I'm sure I'll be putting a lot of time into it, probably more so than being on GS.>.> With BC2 getting it's last patch tomorrow, I'll play that for like a week until the beta comes. I'll download it on PC and PS3 for anyone who wants to play it with me. Best news is that you can rank up to Level 50, the highest rank on there. I will talk about this beta of course so stay tuned for that.

BTW, this is the main movie I want to see in October(and for the last time, it's a prequel):
