Update Blog: What's Happening? Edition.

Not much is the answer. I got Sonic Battle and have played it to death, beating story mode twice and winning almost 75 battles so far, and I plan on more. I still have no money, so the next game I plan to get (Currently Advance Wars 1 and 2, though it used to be Advance Wars and Metroid Fusion, and before that Sonic Advance 3) will be waiting even longer to get. I haven't played many games lately, we've been gone a lot and I spend a lot of time doing housework, schoolwork, or running around on things that don't apply to me (Like my sisters' violin lessons). And since my Mom is a strong believer in me getting chores and school done before DS (And because once when I brought my DS with it was all I did) I can't bring DS/GBA with me on morning errands. So that's it for video games. And since that also covers much of life, I think I'm done. The friend I mentioned last blog got his blog to 1,000 posts, so that's done. I will have the next part of my blog series up as soon as I get around to writing it.

Big problem

Haven't been there to confirm it, but according to the online store, it would seem my local Gamestop NO LONGER CARRIES GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAMES! I checked a ton of titles, even games every Gamestop has like Super Mario Advance (All Gamestops with GBA games have at least one of those) and such, and it was not listed as a store that had the game. If it doesn't, I will be VERY UPSET! :x:(

First Blog in almost two weeks

Still not finished my blog series, not been motivated to. :x I got Sonic Battle and have been playing it a ton, that might have something to do with it. :P No Sonic Advance 3 yet, I had enough money but it was in others' hands (Meaning I had my $10 in IOUs  ).

A Method to My Madness Part One: What do I Look for in Games?

Finally here, read on.

What do I look for in games? The short answer: Because I like the series.

Long answer: Many of my games are sought out by me because of their series. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games was bought to complete (As of then) my Mario DS collection, Star Wars Episode III was bought because I liked Star Wars, the Chronicles of Narnia was bought because my Mom liked the series (I did too, but she thought the game would be good, not me). Back then I had little notion of bad games, I didn't know there could be such a thing. Now my method is a little different. I hear about a game somewhere and read about it, a lot. I read reviews and ratings, I talk to people about it, I read walkthroughs (To learn about potential problems and glitches), and more. The more I read, the more excited I usually am to get the game. If the game is said to be really bad I'd ignore it, but I've yet to find a game I was interested in that was really bad. More often the game was average, and I get it because I believe it could be good.

What do I look for in games? Popular series. I have a set idea if I like the game or not before I even buy it, and playing the game rarely changes my mind. I only buy games I think I'll like, and have only disliked games I've bought twice (Both games are mentioned in this blog). I've also gotten games as gifts, usually bargain games from my Mom or games I know about from relatives (They ask me about it to make sure I don't have it and such). For some reason the bargain games I get usually end up good, Speed Racer PS2 was actually rather good and Crash Nitro Kart was almost as good. But neither were games I'd have bought if I was looking for a game, I have too many I'm currently interested in to add new ones that may or may not be worth my time. Currently I've got a list of 20 games I plan to get (Narrowed down from 33 last I updated you all) that I believe would be worth my time.

Next time I'll have a slightly shorter blog on why I buy games.

I'm back, not that I was really gone

Two trips out of town and a storm have delayed my promised blog. I never said when I'd do it, but I like doing it as soon as possible. Yesterday I went into town to drive my Mom around (Grocery shopping and such) and got two hours in my driving log, two hours closer to being able to get my license on my 16th birthday. I've also changed my mind about which games to buy next, again. Now I plan to buy Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Battle, and Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Eight dollars higher then the original LotR/Two Metroid game combo, but I realized that I really wasn't that interested in them. It was a phase started by reading about the games online, something I'll talk about in my blog series. Sometimes said ideas work out, like Kirby Superstar Ultra or Lord of the Rings. Other times it didn't so much, like F-Zero (Bought one and ignored the rest, aka the other), or this Metroid thing (I was drawn away from it). Now it's Sonic Advance, but this time there's a legitimate reason for liking it, I played and beat the first, including with all Chaos Emeralds. Now I want to play the others, but I'm skipping 2 because it's not supposed to be totally good and the emeralds are hideously hard to get (So I've read) compared to even Sonic Heroes PS2.

By the way, when I said I was gone, I had enough time for daily posting but never got blog-writing in because I never had the time, I used it in posting, which I do a lot. :P

New Blog Series: The Prequel

Once again I'm doing a series of blogs. The name? A method to my madness. I'll explain my methods behind my games, why I'm interested in them, how I decide how to buy them, and my reviewing system. Think it's boring? Don't worry, I'm working on that. :P I've also decided to finish reviewing the SNES games I played a lot, all six of them. I've got four done and have two to finish, of the four two just went up, so read them. As for games I'm playing: I've beaten all four stories in Sonic Advance and gotten the first four emeralds. Question: Would I be missing anything if I just got Sonic Advance 3 and Sonic Battle, skipping Advance 2 altogether? I've heard it's hard and complicated.

I'm out of ideas

I've written lots of blogs, some about me, some about lists, some about topics I write about, some about special events, and most about my thoughts. Unfortunately, I'm out of thoughts and lists, while my life is limited to what happens to me and special events are rare. That leaves very little. Long story short: I can't think of anything. I think up the first few sentences of a blog but never get the thought beyond post size. Like this blog.

Have you ever bought a second copy of a game?

Maybe you wanted a spare save slot so a sibling could play. Maybe you wanted to play as someone else but ran out of room. And maybe you wanted to play multiplayer. This mostly applies to portable systems, as consoles have memory cards for such data and multiplayer just needs remotes.
