I'm just so turned off by the fast rolling and jumping in armor. Bloodborne was a fine game but with the return of Miyazaki to the Souls series, I was hoping for the deliberate, strategic combat of Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.
Regardless of the reason it was removed, this feature sounds really tedious. It doesn't sound like much fun to have to rub the characters to buff them...
@zmanbarzel: Was thinking the same thing. I've been playing W3 lately. During the many moments I spend trying to angle the camera just right so that I can loot a sack of grain I'm left wondering how GS considered it to be a perfect game.
Not to mention the moments I'm stuck on a hump in the ground or I suddenly attack an unintended target or I can't dive underwater for no reason, etc.
I wanted to like Witcher 3 but it just didn't click for me. Mostly I found the combat to be really one dimensional and the character development to be uninspiring. Some of the cutscenes were nice, I guess, but that's not why I play RPGs. Maybe I'll try it again when it's GOTY edition is $5.00 on Steam. In the meantime, I have no regrets about sending that one back.
@megakoresh: It only seems this way. Once you know the way to the boss you can just run straight there from the nearest bonfire. There are very few bosses that *require* you to kill anything between the nearest bonfire and their fog gate. Bloodborne works this way, too. Dark Souls is very tedious if you do not realize this.
How many deaths have occurred in front of Blizzard games at this point? I feel like I only hear about this type of thing with regard to Starcraft, Diablo, and WoW.
