I really don't know what to expect from this game. It could be Concord all over again or it could be this year's Helldivers 2.
Bungie's gameplay could be the saving grace. I'm not sure there's ever been a Bungie shooter that didn't feel great and that could be enough to keep people playing. But I also didn't see anything in the gameplay reveal that makes it stand out from other service shooters, including F2P one (although people said similar things about Helldivers 2 before it released).
The cons were my two biggest concerns about this game. Gameplay looked simple and basic, which led me to think it could get repetitive and wouldn't be engaging throughout.
Don't have an Xbox or PC so can't play anyway, but if this does come to other platforms I'll wait for a deep sale before checking it out.
I find this approach refreshing as often people are focused on teasing and hyping the next thing. I assume we will eventually get a Part 3, but I like that Druckman is trying to limit expectations instead of saying something like, "you'll have to wait and see," "you never know," "never say never," etc.
I'd rather be told there's no guarantee of it happening than for it to turn into a Half-life 3 situation where people are constantly questioning and speculating when it's coming.
@joecollin: The routine is huge, not just for you but the baby. If you can get a good routine down and stick with it (feeding times, napping/sleeping times, etc), it helps so much.
@joecollin: Then let me rephrase, you'll be able to find time for the things you want to do. It's definitely an adjustment and your routine might not be as consistent.
Fitness was the hardest adjustment for me after my daughter was born. Between my job and parenting it was hard for me to carve out time and motivation to get to the gym. My daughter turned 3 last July and I'm finally getting a more consistent work out routine down. Much respect for making it one of your priorities.
@joecollin: Honestly, it's not too difficult finding time to game with a new born. They sleep a lot and if you get a good napping/sleeping routine down, you'll get a couple hours here or there to do things (whether is productive things or leisurely activities). I would game with my daughter napping next to me on the coach.
"Choices and their consequences manifest in surprising but natural ways"
"Straightforward and uninteresting narrative that doesn't offer interesting surprises"
Is it me, or are these statements contradictory? The choices and consequences are connected and related to the story, no?
Edit: To add (after reading other comments) please check out other reviews and don't take this review as fact that the game is mediocre or average. Plenty of other outlets are more positive. It might not be GOTY, Skyrim quality RPG, but it sounds like there's a fun and enjoyable experience to be had.
@Spartan_418: My opinion is that new Xboxs will be a means for console gamers to access Game Pass. Without an Xbox, the only option for Game Pass would be PC or streaming to another device, which isn't ideal.
I'm also assuming the MS is going to try to do something a little bit different with the Xbox instead of simply being a more powerful console. That clearly didn't would with Series X so they need something to differentiate from the other consoles on the market, other than simply having Game Pass.
