Hard to have faith in this movie after Apocalypse. First Class and DoFP were both very good but Apocalypse was a complete disappointment. It was a very average and bland superhero movie at best, imo of course.
Maybe this movie will surprise me but I just don't see it reaching the level of some of the great superhero movies we've had over the years like Logan, Deadpool, and Infinity War.
@TTB1: I've barely been doing story missions. I've been having a blast just web slinging around the city doing random side quest like finding backpacks, fighting crime, unlocking the map via towers, etc. In most other open world games these would just seem like tedious tasks but traversing the city is so fun that it doesn't matter. Like Spiderpigs said, this is one of those games that reminds me why I fell in love with gaming. The game does a lot of things right but at the end of the day the what matters most, to me at least, is that it's fun and entertaining. I felt the same about God of War. Those two games alone have made owning a PS4 well worth it.
And a little aside, I can't believe people will still harp on the games being 30 fps. While playing Spiderman last night swinging through the city it dawned on me that I've played the game for a few hours now, at least, and never once did I think about frame rate being an issue. I'm not even sure if I have experienced any slowdowns yet. God of War was very similar. Slowdowns occurred every now and then in that game but I never felt it hindered the experience one bit. I feel bad for gamers that are incapable of enjoying and appreciating games that run at anything less than 60 fps.
@Sevenizz: multiplayer in a Spiderman game? How would that even work without the mode feeling forced and tacked on? Multiplayer isn't necessary for every game.
@Phazevariance: I don't see any issue with the length of the game. 20 hours is solid for story and side missions, and could be extended even further if you want to 100% the game. Game length just isn't a big factor to me when it comes to games. Games like the first Arkham Asylum and The Last of Us could be beat in well under 20 hours and they're both to of my favorite games ever. As long as the game is entertaining and fun I could care less how long it is, just like a good album or movie. If 20 hours is short for you, you must have a lot of free time on your hands. I'd say most adult gamers with jobs, families, and other responsibilities and hobbies don't need their games to be 40+ hours.
I also don't get the complaints about it being an "Arkham Clone". Games mimick and copy other successful games. It's not new in the world of gaming. If games didn't steal and borrow from GTA 3 we might not even have the open world sandbox genre. Without Resident Evil 4 3rd person shooters, such as Gears of War, might not exist. Doesn't matter to me if a game "stole" or "copied" from another game as long as the game is good.
@michellebennet: what does any of that have to do with whether or not a game is good?
Miss the days when games were mainly judged on entertainment and how fun they were. Instead people are more worried about resolution, frame rate, and length of the game. If those are going to be deciding factors on whether or not you play a game the you are going to miss out on a lot of fun and enjoyable gaming experiences.
