Platinum trophies

As I was browsing through my trophies, I noticed many games just short on a platinum. I'm not too anal about those, but it sure gives bragging rights to um... about nobody I know with a PS3 :-P

There's one that keeps eluding me though. Try as I might, I can't get the platinum for Arkham Asylum. The rest, I'll manage sooner or later, but my fighting skills fall just short of the perfection needed to get me that 100% with Batman...

LOL! Even more games! Aaaauuugh!

Just finished my last entry, when suddenly my girlfriend decides to surprise me with Infamous. I must have mentioned somewhere in the last weeks that I was curious about it and saw it had such a high score here. The horror! *twitch, part two*

Crap, more new games

I just finished the first Layton game, am STILL busy with Dragon Age, and now I downloaded Castle Crashers which has hooked both my girlfriend and me for hours now. To make matters even worse: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was just released today, and of course I bought it. When will my vast collection have nothing but finished games, instead of new one to finish? When will I finally have time to write my Dragon Age review? And the biggest question of all: When is the next game on my list finally in the stores? *twitch*

Defeating the Yellow Light of Death

Against all odds, I completely disassembled my Playstation 3, sacrificed some fluffy bunnies under a moonlit sky, put a heat gun on the PS3's most basic components for several minutes, put it back together again, sacrificed some kittens since I was out of bunnies by then, and pressed the "on" button...

And to quote another mad scientist, standing next to his creation, under a sky wracked with storms: "It's ALIIIIVE!!"

As of this moment, Randallsilver is back online with his own Playstation 3! All my save games have been copied, since I'm sure it's a temporary solution. It did make me happy though. Now, to finish some games before I really have to buy myself a new console. :-)

YLOD, the Sequel

So, I have informed myself well, I have the tools, and I have a friend willing to help. This friday, I'm putting on my operating gloves, and try to bring my beloved PS3 back from the dead. It may not be what nature intended, but dammit, I shall harness the powers of lightning itself and revive my trusted console! Man was not meant to live without it!

Wish me luck, and send me some eyes of newt if you have them. The Dark powers of Necromancy willing, I'll be finishing Dragon Age on my PS3 this saturday.

The YLOD

And so, it happened to me... The Yellow Light Of Death has claimed my PS3...

It was one of the very first, and I always took very good care of it. I never even heard of the YLOD until two days ago! Well, let me tell you: it's not a rumour. My playstation won't start up anymore, all I get is a weird yellow light where it's supposed to be green, and then the three beeps indicating everything will shut down now. There go all my saved games, and there's a disc still stuck in there as well, of course. Since my PS3 has been long out of warranty, I shall attempt to fix it myself. Wish me luck.

Secret of Monkey Island

A very short post, just to say it's worth it to download the Monkey Island™ games in PSN. I had a lot of fun with the first one, zapping between old-school and contemporary, laughing at the absurdities, and so on. Fun!

Starcraft II LAN party

Cool weekend full of Starcraft II multiplayer gaming with friends. I had SO much fun! Our group is getting better against AI opponents, even hard ones. Still, 14 year old Koreans pose too much of a challenge for us I'm afraid...

Starcraft II rocks

The title says it all, really. I think I'm almost finished with the campaign, and it's fantastic. Review coming up when I'm done. If I can tear myself away from the multiplayer by that time, that is.

Mortal Kombat II

So yesterday I log into PSN, and I see Mortal Kombat II there, for only 3 euro's! Couldn't resist that one, for the fond memories alone. But I don't remember it was THAT hard! I never even got past stage 6! The games nowadays have dulled my gaming capabilities, I notice. Still, lots of fun was had, especially when a friend passed by and joined.
