Even if you're not a PC gamer, what is your opinion on what is an acceptable broadband speed in 2017? I'm curious because as games get bigger and day one patches are the norm I wonder how those on 5mb/s get by. I am currently on AT&T GB fiber and I still want more speed, what is everyone using these days? BTW i'm a manticore, so no allegiance to any console really.

It's just marketing from companies jumping on the 4K bandwagon. Another thing is the PS3 and X360 were top of the line when they launched, it would be similar to the PS4 launching in 2013 with an Radeon 290X card.
The Scorpio will be a big jump from the Xbox one for sure, but people need to let go of notion that the difference between it and the Pro will be massive. Take an RX480 and slightly overclock it and you have yourself the Scorpio. A card of that caliber is not going to be running demanding games at anything over 4K30.
What both Microsoft and Sony need to do is implement more dynamic resolution in their games. I feel confident that Scorpio will be using a Ryzen variant for the CPU.
Both the Pro and the Scorpio should tide most over until 2021 when the next gen arrives, at that point 4K60Ultra will be the baseline with a few 8K games aswell.
nothing important will be revealed at CES. Nvidia will wait until GTC or GDC to unveil any news regarding the 2000 line. Nothing interesting happening inside the Switch to care about other than that it's using an old Tegra X1 severely downclocked.
Can't belive I only heard about this game about a week ago. Played the demo on PS4 Pro and I'm definitely going to pick this game up. The animation is slick, music is spot on, and Platinum is handling the combat, so rest assured it will be legit. Lems will need to pray for an Xbox version. at least PC players will eventually get a version to play.
@iandizion713: you're grasping for things that don't exist mate. The Switch is 157gflops undocked and 393 gflops docked. Developers have to code the game to the lowest common denominator, ie undocked mode. That is a massive gulf in power of 157-1310 gflops, also keep in mind the Switch has a cpu that's 50% as powerful as the already weak Jaguars in the Xbox One. Add all that up and most likely 2 gigs of Ram, and it's a recipe for no third party support.
Let's break it down to a numbers game.
Wii - 12 Gflops
Wii U - 350
Switch - 400?
Xbox - 20 gflops
Xbox 360 - 240 gflops
Xbox One - 1300 gflops
Scorpio - 6000 gflops
PS2 - 9.5 gflops
PS3 - 176 (230 with Cell) gflops
PS4 - 1840 gflops
PS4 Pro - 4200 gflops
But yeah to answer your question it's the smallest jump between generations, and in some ways a downgrade.
