*Insert generic New Years Resolutions here*

Do people still believe in this? Because last year half of my resolutions didn't even come true, but I don't want to make that mistake again! Anyways, right now I have money so I'm getting some things a little later. My Xox Live Gold will expire in 3 days so I need to renew it, which is always a pain, and paying 60 bucks is not cool, why the 10 dollar increase Microsoft?

Finally finish creating my indie games-I am sorry, but I have to stop putting it off, or it'll never get done. I plan to make around 4 even though 1 was suppose to come out a few months. I am for real this time.

Upgrade computer again-My PC was a beast 2 years ago, and I still play games well nowadays, but it turns out games are getting a bit more demanding for my aging hardware(some are from 2007) so I need a new CPU and GPU. Within the following months I hope to get an even more powerful PC and maybe Windows 7.

Play 20 2011 games-If it was possible in 2010, it can happen in 2011. I probably won't be buying games until March or late February at this rate.

Get a new job-I want to go from welding to computers.

I would list girlfriend but it's not mandatory because I failed in the past listing this resolution, maybe I should straighten my life and not wish it, I mean, haven't had once since 2004 and I'm long overdue. If I play my card right, may come in the spring, who knows, we'll see, though I'm seeing this girl on MSN so maybe it can happen.

I should be listing more important stuff, but meh, I'll live.:P

Anyways, I'll see what I can do to try to enjoy this year, and happy New Years!!!

Games

I am very fond of this year when it comes to games, and 2010 delivers for me. Never had I brought so many games at a time, then again, a job can do that to y'all. If you didn't know, I spent over 600 bucks in games and has to have over 30 games by now. LOL wow. Best of all, I enjoyed most of them but a few let me down. To me, gaming isn't going downhill entirely, but it certainly isn't perfect. I am looking forward to 2011 seeing how there's more games for me to get than this year.D=Oh and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the best game of 2010.=p

Movies

To me it did ok this year. Toy Story 3, Inception, Scott Pilgrim, Kick Ass, etc. made this year worthwhile though.

I hardly listen to songs nowadays either.

Moderations

I have received a lot of moderations this year leading up to 52 from 2007 to now. But I want 2011 to be like 2006 and maybe not getting modded ever again, it's possible, I haven't been modded since July, so I'll see about that.

Unlike other years, I was pretty active in the posting. I was at 29k in January and now I'm at 61k currently. What did I do? Visit more forums of course!

It's also worth noting that I probably tracked hundreds of people here this year, in fact, I remember at summer each day someone would track me, LOL. Not to mention that I'm meeting more on other sites and even my 360 and PS3.

I finally started to post my pics here just for the hell of it and surprisingly people think I look decent, seeing how I wish I looked better I was expecting worse, but besides a few, most like how I look.

2010 as a whole

I wouldn't call it my best year(I think 1996 will hold that forever) but it certainly wasn't my worst(could be 2000 if I remember right). But for what it's worth, it was a solid year for me and I hope 2011 will do the same or even better.

Can't wait for 2011!

Gaming addiction

I have brought over 18 games this year and spent over 600 bucks on games. Man do I love to spend.:P Just recently I got Black Ops for the PC from some guy off amazon for 40 bucks, and I'm glad too, because it's certainly not worth full price in it's current state due to one thing: It's a technical mess!

This is the 1st COD game on PC that is known to have slow performance, stutter, crash, and freeze on many. To me, the game freezes when I try to max it out, but I can run it maxed out at a constant 30-60 fps and even higher from 70-121 at times, so I run it at high and it's fine though it still randomly freezes. I put it on normal and sometimes it freezes, my god. Then low and it never does. It really shows how unoptimized the game is. I had to go into config files and make changes to even play it. On default it's set to use multiple graphics cards and single core cpu. That is the dumbest thing ever! Not many have multiple graphics cards and I'm sure single core cpus are nearly extinct and multi have been the norm since this gen. Who programmed this?

Besides that, the game is fun and is actually about as balanced as COD4. The campaign I thought was done well and it had plot twists that I didn't see coming. But really, the game disappointed me in the tech area, and the patches still didn't fix the freezing, though the game runs much better now.

Too many 3s!!!

Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3, all in the same year. And Battlefield 3 if we are lucky. At the VGAs, when they revealed Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3, they impressed me graphically, but Resistance 3 is the most surprising one. After Resistance 2, I didn't hype it much graphically, but that vid actually looked good. I might be able to get all of those games. I will use my save from ME2 for ME3, and speaking of that, I'm replaying it again. Gears of War 3 needs a good online to make me play that unlike Gears 2 which is horrible online, and KZ3 looks to do fine, though it comes out several days after my b-day.:x

Upcoming plans

Christmas is coming up and I still don't have my list. I hope so soon. Probably clothes, money and games, but which games beg the question. I hope to get that indie game done soon too, it's been too long. I plan on upgrading the cpu and gpu on my computer as well, stay tuned for that.

New games I got

Did I get DKCR? I wish, I just got 2 PSN games: Scott Pilgrim and Shatter, and I got Shatter free thanks to PSN+. Both are very fun games, Shatter is unique and an addictive puzzler, and Scott Pilgrim is a beat em up with an RPG leveling up system to earn new moves and become stronger as you play, and goes old school with forcing you to restart an entire level if you lose all your lives, and seeing how most levels are around 10-20 minutes(depending on the level design) this can be frustrating, definitely in the later levels, and it doesn't help that some enemies are cheap.D= Still, I like the game, I freaking love beat em ups, more needs to be made, and this game has an amazing soundtrack, no wonder IGN gave the sound a 10.

I really hope this isn't the future of DLC

DLC has taken over the gen, and come in as good and bad. There's good like Undead Nightmare from Red Dead Redemption and bad like charging to unlock outfits/characters that should be in the game(looks at various fighting games). However the worst offender is one of my fav online shooters this gen: Battlefield Bad Company 2. I love the gameplay in BF series as the class system is very well done and huge environments allow for numerous possibilities to win the war as a team. However, unlike other BF games, which had most content from the start and more later on, Bad Company 2 is different as it uses a VIP system. If you got this on PC, none of this is a problem when it comes to money as it's free for them, but for consoles, like I got on 360, it's a different story.

There are 4 modes in this game(5 if you brought the waste of money known as Onslaught), and around 4 maps for each mode when you 1st got it. If you buy the game new, you get a free vip code, and 2 maps, and only one of them is new for one mode and the other map is in the game for a different mode. The VIP system covers 2 maps you don't have to pay for. There are 6 released so far, and if you want to get them all, you're paying 30-45(definitely if you brought it used) bucks because it costs 15 bucks to buy a VIP code when it expires.

And you'll think they'll add new maps and content. Nope, instead, you're paying to get content that is already on the disc! In short, you are paying to get different modes on the same maps. For example, the game had Port Valdez at launch for Rush, and now you pay to get Port Valdez on Conquest. And every map pack is like that. LOL, the game wasn't even finished.

This is so bad, I mean, BF2 had about 30 maps if you brought all the expansions as it added entirely new things, why did they make you pay for things that are on the disc that should be there on day one and focus on new actual maps instead? Oh well, at least the ultimate edition has all the maps, though with the 7th map pack coming that has 4 new maps and is a real map pack that looks to be the best one(2 from BC1) and Vietnam expansion, we will finally see new maps and content not found on day one.

Still like the game though.:P

Got Fallout 3 for free=p

No, I didn't steal it, I got the 360 version from my sister's husband who brought it just for me to play. So far I'm enjoying it but it takes some getting used to when it comes to the menu system for me. This is my 1st Fallout game so I'm new to this though the previous ones before it were different from what I heard. I hope to get ready for New Vegas, and for PC most likely, I can't stand bugs and glitches.D=

What other games to get?

My eyes are on Donkey Kong Country Returns, Black Ops, maybe Sonic Colors, maybe New Vegas and a few more when possible. But DK is a must, more so than other games to me, because I've waited so long for a DK game. Sounds like a Christmas list but not all of it as I'm getting some games before Christmas. This isn't a complete list, things may change after all, stay tuned.

I don't believe it, nope, I just don't. sure they are working with Kinect, but at their rate, I'm sure we'll see one in 2-5 years(2012-2015 basically). I'll be surprised if they didn't make another one.xD

I love hypocrisy

This gen we have those complaining about genres like shooters being saturated and while that is true, to say they are all the same is a lie. That's like saying COD and Battlefield are alike, and besides shooting people, they aren't the same as there's so many differences it's unreal. The core gameplay of shooting people is there and is the same, but the gameplay mechanics, c1asses, interaction, etc. alone are different. I don't mind people complaining about them being too many and should cut done, by why only single them out, what about the other genres, hell, I'll list them and tell the core gameplay in each of them and tell me you think they're all the same:

Platformers-All you do is jump here, there, and over there, and occasinally collect something.

RPGs-Explore, talk, explore, kill enemy, level up, and do the same thing over and over again, most are grindfests to begin with.

Fighters-Smash buttons.

Racers-Hold the button nonstop until you need to brake and get to the finish line.

RTSs-Point, click, drag and repeat.

Music-Same as fighters and my least favorite genre too.

Puzzles-Bring this *insert thing* here to solve the puzzle.

Adventure-Point and click.

Horror-Use what you got to survive.

Action adventure-Get from A to B while killing things.

Sports-Nuff said.

Simulation-Just simulate life.

Those are just the core genres. Yes, those genres have unique games in them, however, the core gameplay of them as I said are the same or else it wouldn't be that genre and even hybrid ones. Sorry, I had to do that.:P

I'm glad it's back to normal, my computer overheats a lot and I'll try to keep it as cool as possible. For some reason, when I installed the drivers to my GPU(video card), I was able to play my games maxed out at high resolutions while not crashing either. Still though, I would rather upgrade my PC regardless, hopefully by next year. It's not perfect, but has improved though. Happy it's not a problem anymore, but there's a lot of games coming out this month, hopefully I get DKCR, it has over 70 levels.:o

Extreme Max

Remember when I blogged about doing that novel next month, which was a war story? Now you can forget all about that, because I changed it to a 23 chapter(21 episodes) comedy novel called Extreme Max. As this site says, I have 30 days to do it, and it's only 50k words. The story is about a 18 year old who plans to make it to tv by writing 21 episodes about his life and random things that happen to him and he must have the producers agreed to see if they like what episodes he made. As you read, all the chapters known as episodes(besides 1st and last chapter) are being read by the producers and is in his dream as well. I hope people enjoy it because I'm working hard on it and has 865 words as of now, more will increase the following days and weeks. Wish me luck for me to finish it.

Mitu, where is that game?

Yes, this platform/beat em up game has suffered many, many delays, and it's getting ridiculous now. I want it done, but I'm being lazy with the programming. Oh well, I'll see what I can do. My last chances are this month and next, though I would prefer this month. I'll keep you updated.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Lately I've been watching some anime and I'm liking this one a lot. The plots and situations are bizarre but funny, characters are interesting enough and Haruhi is awesome, who can say no to this?:oops:

I've watched like 5 episodes and got hooked, and will hope to see more of this anime.

Kinect this week and Black Ops next week

Who's buying either one? I'm not. I'm not too interested in Kinect besides a few games at this point, and I will need more than 1 game for it too, plus it costs a lot at 150 bucks.:P I haven't played COD since the 4th one so many things will be new to me for Black Ops, but still not buying it yet, if anything, I would use Gamefly to rent it to see if I like it, I'm really thinking about signing up for it. But I know that Black Ops will be the biggest selling game of this year, I know that for a fact, and if I do plan on renting it, it'll be on PS3.

I'll be eating some candy, hopefully dressing up in a tuxedo, maybe watching horror films and definitely playing the Red Dead Redemption DLC Undead Nightmare I got for 8 bucks for being a PSN+ member, and it's pretty awesome so far and seems like a full game. Looks like I'll be busy today.

And about my computer: I hope to get it fixed by tomorrow since I'm getting paid tomorrow as well, lets see where that goes, I'll start with the power supply 1st. After that I'll update ya and see if I can get back to normal blogging.

God I hate myself sometimes.

I have no idea what's going on, but for some reason when I have my main stronger PC on, it shuts off randomly within a few minutes, and worst of all, now it won't turn on even when it's plugged in. The power supply might be dead and needs to be replaced, hope to do that soon. If the new power supply doesn't work, then it has to be the motherboard or CPU, we'll see. I might be off for sometime, and no, I'm not using my weaker PC, it can't run my current games since it's a 2006 computer and doesn't even have the files I have on my other computer, plus my 2 brothers use it anyways.

In other new I got Fable 3, I finally met the baby that my sister had a few days ago(I'm an uncle now) and I had my chance in the Killzone 3 beta by using IGN on twitter but they only sent one code and you had to fight for it and worst of all my computer wasn't on, so I'm basically out of luck on that.

PSN+

I finally got it, and it's pretty decent. You can download certain betas and demos, download full games and play them for an hour(though the downloads take a long time), download games for free as long as you have PSN+, I got games like Burn Zombie Burn which is like Smash TV, it's best played in short bursts though, gets repetitive fast, and more. Can't wait for the Killzone 3 beta, yes, you need PSN+ pretty much to play it if you win a chance to play it.
