"haha, you actually did a good job of making the Metal Gear plot seem simple... But Meryl is Campbell's neice (not daughter), and the President isn't Solidus Snake in MGS2." No, he was correct. Merryl is Campbell's daughter, but you only learn this if you get the ending where she dies in MGS1. I'm guessing you never saw that ending. As she lay dying Campbell tells you she was actually his daughter, and he didn't find out until very recently. And Solidus was the US president during MGS1 until he quit. That had to have been the biggest twist of MGS1.

"The girl you thought you knew as Aeris is actually named Aerith. Evidently, the designers of Final Fantasy VII intended to name her after the English term Earth, but something got mixed up in the double translation from English to Japanese then back again and she wound up as Aeris in Final Fantasy VII. But a rose by any other name smells just as sweetly, and since you paid for the fantasy, you can call her whatever you want. Just don't call her mean, petty, or shallow because Aerith was a virtuous, pure hero and the last of a noble race, the Cetra. This being a Japanese role-playing game, you just knew something bad and vaguely sexual was going to happen to her. And if you didn't, you probably cried real tears when your awesome healer got impaled on Sephiroth's wimpy sword in Final Fantasy VII. Though she never came back to life as nerds worldwide hoped she would, her spirit swims on in the lifestream. Who knows what she does in there...possibly the butterfly stroke? " Something worth noting about Aeris/Aerith: A Square designer himself said that Aerith is an anagram of "I Earth". Sounds fitting? Aeris is an anagram of 'Raise'. Hmm. He was asked a question on whether she could originally was ever planned to be revivable and that was his answer. He didn't flat out say no, but just fueled further speculation and rumor. By the way, in Japanese there is no 'th' sound, and it is still pronounced 'Aeris'. That would be why they romanised it as Aeris. But since they needed consistency, they settled on Aerith.

So Joe Dodson is the new replacement for Brad? Or was it Alex? Or Tim? Jason? Frank? Or maybe even Jeff... I'm liking him so far. Keep up the humor.

Hey Gamespot, I think it's time to upgrade that Core 2 Duo X6800 into a Core 2 Quad Xtreme. Your test bed was top of the line 18 months ago, but things change quickly during that time. If you're going to benchmark a game like this (or any game for that matter), wouldn't it make sense to include the best of the best hardware in your tests? In addition, Crysis loves cores, so Quads do better than Duos.

"I laugh when I hear people say what's the advantage of higher resolution with respect to strategy/RTS games. My answer - an arseload of difference. If you only saw two pixels in front of Mario you'd have a hard time jumping those koopas." That's because there isn't one. In 3D games, increasing the resolution does not increase your field of view. That's what zooming is for. A 2D rts will, but not a game like WiC, and nor will your Mario games, unless it's a pre-N64 game. In practical terms, increasing your resolution may shrink your HUD and make it less cluttered, but you're not going to see more things on the screen than anyone else.

I can't believe GS claimed that WiC likes cores, yet they didn't test any Quad Core CPUs...

"Hey its looking good, but still no games for the system. God of war and the castlevania games will help for sure. Remember 2 games don't sell systems and the PSP has been lacking in that departmen since the very begining and u know what The PSP still having the same problem today." The DS has far less games worth playing. I'm struggling to even name any. Nintendogs and the Brain training type games I don't even consider as actual games.

Beetz, PSP has the brightest screen of any handheld gaming device. The DS and GBA don't even come close. Try one of the 3 other levels of brightness. If you can't see your PSP out in the sun, you coulnd't on any other handheld either. Try moving or repositioning yourself so that the sun doesn't shine directly onto it. ---i don't even have a psp and I feel cheated by this "revision."--- How can you feel cheated for something you didn't buy yet? Just buy the new one. I suppose you felt cheated when Nintendo released DS Lite or GBA SP, GBA Micro or GB Pocket as well? And if you already bought the old one, there's no reason to upgrade, since the enhancement is very minor. There's no compelling reason to upgrade to this unless you want TV output, which isn't necessary for a handheld anyway.
