at least we'll now be able to transverse the barren planets filled with nothingness more quickly just to confirm that sadly, there really is nothing of interest there. also, only 1 option for a land vehicle? nothing special for starborn?
I read this review and it made me more excited to see it. Glad to see everyone else calling out the BS in the review...or perhaps the reviewer is trolling US?! Ehh?
@nilsdoen: I'm not pissed off, just disappointed. For one, in Ubisoft, for lying for absolutely no reason. And for two, now in you, for just not getting it.
@nilsdoen:see above, it's the idea that the character was SOLD as fact. It's just not true, he wasn't actually a Samurai. I can get past that of course, but why try to pull one over on us? Directly from the Ubisoft website:
"Players will step into the roles of a Japanese shinobi, Naoe, and – in a series first – a real-life historical samurai, Yasuke"
No! That's not true! Stop it and call it like it is? He's a cool character based on a historical figure. No need for the lies and trickery. What do they achieve?
@mogan: You're totally right. I was being a bit of a crybaby when I posted last night. I was just excited by the possibility that there was a real African Samurai (which he is sold as) that I didn't know about and now he's in an AC game and that was awesome. Then I did some more research and on finding that he wasn't actually a Samurai, I felt tricked. There's a difference between telling people THIS IS REAL vs. this is BASED on a LOOS INTERPRETATION of real. Still looks cool, but not as cool as if they hadn't tried to pull a fast one.
I was excited for this game and blown away that I had not heard of Yasuke. I thought, "If this is real, this is incredible!" Nope. It's not real... Yasuke was never a samurai - this is a myth. So embarassed now that this is happening and such effort is made to fool us. "In the army" is not a Samurai. Watching him troll around and beating ass in the gameplay demos would be acceptable if there was some admission that this is LOOSELY based on a historical figure. But now we've got folks posting shit about how this is the first playable historical character in an AC game. No. Just another character based on something loosely tied to history. Maybe AC Shadows should be called What If? AC Shadows. Kinda bummed honestly.
