@xenoriddley: I mean, don't get me wrong, I still firmly believe the only reason to buy a PSC is to mod it. But anybody choosing between a Pi and this is already determined to do some fiddling. In that respect, the PSC is probably even a better choice for people that aren't so technologically savvy. At this point, and thanks to some clever and dedicated fans, the PSC is ridiculously simple to mod. Anybody that can operate a thumb drive can get it done.
@xenoriddley: Not really. At $20 this thing is much more cost effective, comes with a slick case and 2 decent controllers. The Pi 4 does have a more powerful CPU but the GPU is total garbage, and just the base model is nearly double the price just for a board.
@Barighm: Looked to me like you were asking dudebro about the mod. To clarify, it's much better after modding, you're no longer using the Sony-supplied emulation. Well, you can use it, but there's really no reason to do so at that point.
@maltnut: Took the words from me. Electronic Arts through the 80s and 90s was actually a brand you could trust, known for fun and quality games. That EA is long dead.
@Barighm: Yes, much. The hardware of the PSC is actually good, Sony just dropped the ball with the software. Probably in too much of a hurry to push them out the door.
