@pillarrocks: I don't know what they're like these days, haven't had a sub in a while, but years ago they were a pretty good mag. They may have been the last decent gaming publication, had some decent writers and the fanboying was kept to a minimum since their parent company was more than happy to sell you anything. I still have my September 2007 issue, with the Borderlands reveal.

No, it's not like Gold or Plus at all. With Gold and Plus you actually have your games you buy on your own system, and they don't inherently have a pile of streaming lag dumped on top.
