I Finally Have A Break!

Hello everyone, it is a pleasure to see you all once again! ^_^

Wow, I can't believe that I'm actually making a blog shortly after making my previous one! Usually I only make a blog once every 2 or 3 weeks these days since school is keeping busy :P However, things have changed since right now, for an entire week, I don't have to go to school since it's March Break here in Canada where we just take a break for a whole week, so I can relax for now and can make blogs more frequently! I'm still conntemplating on what I should do for March Break though ^_^ Anyways...onto the blog.

Games

Hmmm, well, there hasn't been much I've been doing in terms of games. I did finish Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria though! ^_^

It was a pretty nice JRPG! ^_^ I really liked the battle system and story and everything. What I really didn't like about it was the fact that if you didn't have a good grasp of the skill system, you did have to power-level/level grind a bit which is definitely not fun. The game even gives you uber-powerful weapons if you power-level certain characters! Old-school fans might hate me for saying that that's its biggest downfall but level grinding truly ins't enjoyable. I also didn't like how the story started to focus on Lenneth (one of the valkyries) towards the end. I mean, the game is called Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria so I wanted them to focus on her and make a deep and intriguing story about her just like they did with Lenneth in the first game and how she had a hidden and tragic past and all, but this game was more about Lenneth and Alicia than anything else.

Other than that, the game was pretty nice! I'm hoping that one day they might make a Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist, that would be really awesome!

As for games I'll be getting next, I think I'll go and get Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Endless Ocean.

zx xcv

They both look really awesome. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a pretty obvious choice but some of you are probably wondering why I would ever be interested in Endless Ocean :P Well, it just looks like a really good game! Most game reviewers and users said that as long as you have an open mind to games, then you'll probably like Endless Ocean and I consider myself quite open-minded, welcoming new ideas so I'm going to get Endless Ocean and see how diving and gaming go together ^_^.

Movies

I haven't been watching any movies lately (other than 8 Women) so I thought that maybe I could talk to you all about a movie that was my all-time favourite back when I was a child (back when animated movies ruled my life >_>)! That movie just so happens to be called Anastasia (the animated one by Fox, not the live action 1956 movie)

xvb

Yes, despite the countless c.lassic Disney movies that were hurled at me when I was younger, this movie was the one that ended up becoming my favorite. I just loved it for some reason!

Anyways, the movie first takes place in the town of St. Petersburg in Russia where the Russian Tsar, Nicholas II is holding a grand ball celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Romanov's family rule. Also present at the ball is the Grand Duchess Anastasia and her grandmother, Marie Feodorovna Romanov. At the ball, Marie gives her favourite granddaughter, Anastasia, a music box and a necklace which has the words "Together in Paris" written on it. Suddenly, an evil monk and traitor to the royal family named Rasputin arrives at the ball and overthrows Nicholas II by casting a curse on everyone. As a result, all of the royal family is executed (yes, this animated children's movie begins with a royal family being killed) except for marie who escapes to Paris and Anastasia who is knocked out and unconscious but not yet dead. Years later, Marie decides to offer a reward to whoever brings back her granddaughter Anastasia. Meanwhile, a girl named Anya who is living in an orphanage and suffers from memory loss and owns the Together in paris necklace decides that it`s about time she found out about her past and to find out who exactly is waiting for her in Paris.

The movie truly was a great experience to me when I was younger. I loved the lavish color palette that was used and the nice combination of computer generated graphics and animation made the movie look really great. I also imagine that the story that was somewhat dark made it enjoyable for both kids and adults. Of course, the songs are also a big attraction for the movie. My personal favourites were Journey to the Past, Once Upon a December, and At the Beginning. Well, that`s pretty much all I have to say about the movie. I wouldn`t consider Anastasia to be the best animated movie of all time but it definitely was my favourite!

Anyway, that is all for now! See you all soon! And here is a random video for you guys to watch.

I Want Neither To Harm Nor Be Harmed

Hello everyone, it's nice to see you again!

Well, it's another one of those nights (it's 11 PM right now) where I simply can't sleep. It's probably because I woke up at 10:30 today and I'm not feeling sleepy yet. Anyways, I thought I might give you all a little update in order to pass time until I do start getting sleepy.

Games

Anyways, after the huge Christmas haul that I got that was mentioned in my last blog, I bet you all would think I'm not ready for any new games right? Wrong. I actually finished all of them (except for Tekken: Dark Ressurection but I rarely get to play it since my brother carries his PSP around with him most of the time :P) since some of them were pretty short like NiGHTS, so I ended up getting a new game for February! That game just so happens to Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.

xccx

Now, I probably never talked to you guys at all about the Valkyrie Profile series, so I bet you're all wondering why I picked this game (other than the fact that many people think its great). Well, that's because I actually played the first Valkyrie Profile game on the PS way back in the day. My brother also has the PSP port, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on his PSP and I was able to play it recently. Anyways, to me, Valkyrie Profile was an incredibly and interesting game.

In that game, you played as a Lenneth who is one of the valkyrie (a somewhat lower level god) of the All-Father Odin. Odin has predicted that the end of the world is coming and there's going to be a huge war between his forces, the Aesir, and the enemy forces, the Vanir. So, he sends Lenneth down to the human world of Midgard to collect the souls of brave warriors and sorcerers who have died so that they can help aid Odin in his battle against the Vanir.

The game was just memorable and unique to me. Playing as some sort of demi-goddess made for a very unique experience that strays away from those generic and cliched RPGs. Being able to actually fly around the world map instead of travelling everywhere on foot, a battle system which was fun and allowed me to unleash devastating attacks with a single push of the face buttons, it was simply a magnificent and unforgettable, yet dark and depressing game.

c

a picture of Odin and his most trusted servant, Freya

So, as you might expect, after all the praise and positive adjectives I used to describe the first Valkyrie Profile, I simply told myself that I must have the second one, so I got it! ^_^ I think I'm somewhere in the middle of the game. Right now, I'm in the city of Dipan (this is my second time in this place). I'm not sure when I'll finish it but I might make a review when I do.

Oh yes, speaking of reviews, I made a new review for Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra. Check it out! Feel free to recommend it if you think my review was good or give it a thumbs down if you didn't like it.

Movies

Yeah, it has pretty much been games and movies for the past few weeks. I really need to concentrate on school so I can't really go on huge fabulous trips and show you all pictures :P

Well, my current move obsession is actually a French musical movie called 8 Women.

sd

My good friend, mufujifi, made a blog about it and well, after reading it and watching a video of a song that's on it on Youtube, I immediately knew that (just like Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) I had to get it >_< Anyways, the movie is basically a murder mystery where 8 women break into song and dance for no real good reason :P It still looks like a lot of fun though! ^_^ Here's a trailer for it.

----------

Great, not I'm getting sleepy. Anyways, I'll go to sleep now before I end up sleeping in too late and end up spacing out in school tomorrow (that happened to me a few times last year).

See you all soon! ^_^

A New Blog Post!

Hello everyone! It's nice to see you all again today! ^_^

----------

Ah, it's been so long ever since I have last posted a blog! It feels good to be back in the swing of things. Pardon me for my unimaginative blog title but I'm just not quite sure what I should call this blog. I have so many things to tell you all since so much time has passed. Honestly, my last blog post was last year. I wanted to make a New Year's post but as usual, too much celebrating and too much work when school started just had to get in the way. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy reading this blog.

----

Hmmm...I'm sure that an appropriate thing to talk about first is to show you all the new games that I (and my brother) have accumulated over the holidays and after the holidays ended! ^_^

Yes, I did get quite a lot of Christmas and birthday (January 19) money from my relatives so I couldn't help but spend most of it on games! ^_^

I enjoyed NiGHTS quite a bit. There are quite a few glaring flaws like the cutscene graphics (the graphics remind me of an early PS2 game, the game looks much better when you're actually playing rather than during the cutscenes for some strange reason), the on-foot stages where you control the two children Will and Helen, and the Wii Remote control scheme (which is why I always use the Nunchuk as I don't really have a Clas.sic Controller. Regardless, it was very memorable and playing as NiGHTS and doing acrobatic flips and doing loops in the air just feel so fantastic and exhilarating. Its definitely worth a try.

I never really got into fighting games like Tekken so I'm not exactly sure what to say about Tekken: Dark Ressurection for the PSP but my brother really likes it. The graphics are really impressive for a handheld too! ^_^ The only time I really play the game is whenever my brother asks if I can get him some money so I just play a few matches as Lili (she's the only character I'm good at, I just find her easy to use) or whatever character I feel like playing and it's quite fun sometimes. Once again, I am not really a great fighting-game gamer so don't trust everything I say :P

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is OK for a Final Fantasy game. Its fun at times but I did find that using the touch screen to play was a bit difficult so I often have to use the fact buttons and d-pad in order to observe the map and select units. The character sprites are also really ugly and the story isn't anything epic or groundbreaking. Regardless, the game is still a pretty nice entry-level RTS (at least, until Chapter 8 and 9 where the difficulty ramps up like crazy), it has some really nice looking terrain and environment, and the game is still really enjoyable!

Trauma Center: Second Opinion...well, it was definitely better than the DS version in many ways but I didn't like it as much because it was pretty much a remake with a few extra missions added in that contribute to the story. That meant that for the most part, I had to sit through the same old operations and read the same dialogue over again which realy isn't too enjoyable. However, if you don't have any Trauma Center games, I definitely recommend you pick this one up first.

Final Fantasy VI Advance was just an epic experience! I can definitely understand why people love it so much! There's quite a bit of character development, great music, unexpected plot twists, and so much more! Kefka is also one of the most evil villains I have ever seen! While he may not exactly be extremely powerful, he is definitely evil which is seen in the way he acts. I must say though, I liked the first half of the game much better than the second half. Those who have played the game might be able to see why.

Mario Party 8...well, let's just say that I hate it but some times, I like it. Basically, when I'm playing alone, that game is absolutely horrid. With a gameplay system based on luck, minigames which aren't really too enjoyable, and some Gamecube quality graphics, I just can't like it. However, with friends, the minigames do seem more fun and its really great to just compete with another person with this party game! Some of my friends despise the game though because they just don't like it and won't really play it with me so...yeah. I have many mixed reactions about Mario Party 8.

So yeah, those are pretty much my impressions on each game. I might make a review on them one day. Speaking of reviews, I made a new review for Castlevania Portrait of Ruin!

CASTLEVANIA: PORTRAIT OF RUIN REVIEW

I just didn't like this entry in the series as much as the others. Perhaps its because the series is getting stale for me? But that can't be. (Yay! That rhymes!) I mean, the only game in the series that I have played is Aria of Sorrow. Well, read the review for further details.

----------

Well, yeah, that's all I have to talk about today. I know that quite a bit has happened in the last few weeks ever since my last blog but nothing comes to my mind that's really worth talking about. So, see you all! ^_^

Oh yes, I almost forgot. My brother got a new gaming router and now I have Wi-Fi connection on my Wii! My Wii Number is on my profile so you can check it out if you're one of my friends and you have a Wii.

Alright, that's it! See you all for real now! ^_^

Castlevania, Xenosaga Episode III, and Christmas!

Hello everyone! ^_^ It is a pleasure to see you all today! ^_^

----------

Well, it sure has been a pretty long time since I blogged. As usual, studies are getting in the way and I really need to concentrate on them so sorry if I'm not quite as active :P Nonetheless, I still have some news to share! ^_^

----------

Well, first off is that I made a review for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles! Check it out:

RESIDENT EVIL: THE UMBRELLA CHRONICLES REVIEW

As usual, feel free to recommend it and if you didn't like it, then please give some constructive criticism! ^_^

----------

In other news, I got 2 new games using my Christmas money! Well, actually it's 3 but I'm leaving the last one (Trauma Center: Second Opinion) until Christmas since I want to have a Christmas gift that I actually open on Christmas and not before :P Anyways, the two games that I did get are...

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

sdf

and...

Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra (Yes, I finally got it!)

sdfg

I actually already finished Portrait of Ruin :P It was OK! It wasn't very different from other Castlevania games but the whole dual character concept was done decently! I might make a review for it pretty soon but there's a lot of Christmas celebrating to do first so that might need to wait until later.

I haven't finished Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra (I have no idea how to pronounce that :P) yet but from what I've seen so far, I definitely think it's the best one in the series. It has the best graphics and character costume designs, it easily has the best battle and gameplay system so far and the story still continues! Quite a bit has happened in between Episode II and III though. I can easily see how this was originally supposed to be a 6-part series. Either way, even if it does get confusing at parts because of that, the game is still awesome! ^_^

----------

Anyways, that's all for now! For all those out there who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! ^_^ My holidays have been pretty dark in terms of gaming playing games that include shooting zombies and travelling through the dark and bloody Dracula's castle (maybe I should have gotten NiGHTS instead :P) but for Christmas Eve and Christmas, I'm going to go to a party with my family and my friends so there's still going to be lots of joy! What are you all doing for Christmas and New Years?

Resident Evil, Movies, Odin Sphere Review, and a PSP!

Hello everyone! It is a pleasure to see you all today! ^_^

----------

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I blogged. Homework, games, and my studies sure have been taking up a lot of my time! No need to worry though, I'm still here and I'm not leaving for a long time :P Anyways, since it's been so long since I blogged, quite a few things have been happening which include getting a new game, watching a few fantasy movies, making a new review, and my brother getting a new handheld as a Christmas gift! So without further delay, I should get on with my blog :P

----------

Well, the first thing is that I got a new game for my Wii! This game just so happens to be...

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

sdf

The game is actually very fun! ^_^ I myself always found myself too scared to play the first 3 Resident Evil games since the only time in which I owned them was when I was like, 7-10 years old and the only RE game I ever finished was Resident Evil 4 so I was pleased when I heard that a Resident Evil game which summarized Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was coming out AND it would have its own original scenario which described the end of Umbrella! Right now, I'm at the mission called "Dark Legacy 2" which is actually one of the last stages of the game. I'm surprised by the length! I didn't expect an on-rails light gun shooter to be lasting me 15 hours. Well, I still need to finish the game up before writing a review so expect one soon! ^_^

----------

I've also watched two new movies in the theatre in the past few weeks. One of them was watched by me because it looked pretty interesting, and the other one was part of a school field trip. The first one I watched was...

The Golden Compass

sdf

Well, after watching the movie, I must say I was rather disappointed. After reading a great book with a nice and interesting storyline, I am met with a film adaptation that's rather mediocre and simply adequate.

There isn't quite enough character development in the Golden Compass and many of the key storyline elements are never gone into much depth. I was really disappointed by the poor use of big-name actors and actresses. Nicole Kidman who plays the cool, collected (yet mysterious) Mrs. Coulter and Daniel Craig (who was James Bond in the movie Casino Royale) are barely given any screen time. Somewhere along the middle of the movie, I was actually starting to fall asleep, but the last hour or so which included armored bears fighting with each other and witches, 'gyptians, and other armored bears fighting against kidnappers who were stealing children really woke me up with the interesting sound of battle. The ending's whole "To Be Continued" feel was also rather displeasing. The movie was an overall disappointment to me but that's just because I expected more from something based on a wonderful book. It might be worth watching to the average fantasy/drama movie fan.

Anyways, the other movie I watched (on the school trip) was...

Enchanted

sdf

I actually liked this movie quite a bit. Now, unlike the Golden Compass, this isn't really based on a book so I'll explain the story.

The movie actually starts off with an animated sequence where you see the movie's heroine who is known as Giselle (Amy Adams). She's a young woman who is pretty much like every other stereotypical Disney princess. She sings songs randomly, she's beautiful, she can somehow communicate with animals and one day, she meets a prince. This prince, known as Edward (James Marsden) takes her as his bride but this upsets his mother, Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) who is the evil queen of the kingdom Andalasia. Thus, the evil queen hatches a most evil plan and sends Giselle spiraling down into the cold, dark streets of modern-day Manhattan where the movie translates into live action. Of course, a happy-go-lucky princess who sings songs at random and is always cheerful would not last long in the real world. However, soon enough, she meets a lawyer and a single dad known as Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his daughter, Morgan who instead end up helping her (although, Robert hesitates at first). However, will Giselle's whole "happily ever after" idea last in the real world? Soon enough, she'll find out.

The movie itself, in my opinion, was very well done. The acting was spectacular. Amy Adams, who played the part of Giselle, really truly and honestly looked and felt like a princess. Even though a majority of the movie is done in live action, she still has that mannerism and sweetness about her that really makes her seem like a princess and she does that without getting on your nerves as she never gets too unbearably happy. What was even more enchanting to me, was how well she made Giselle's personality change throughout the movie. Early on, she's still the happy-go-lucky princess who believes in love at first sight and all that, but the more that she stays with Robert, the more she comes to realize that things in the real world aren't like that and soon enough, it seems like her entire self is transforming from a fairy-tale princess who never felt the emotion of anger, to a world-weary woman who is actually starting to fall for the lawyer who rescued her. Amy Adams makes this huge personality change even more believable with her top-notch acting.

The other actors aren't quite as enchanting but they are good enough. Patrick Dempsey (Robert) does a good enough job, he is quite bewildered and equally enchanted by this strange girl that he finds in the streets. James Marsden (Prince Edward) does his job well enough as he is clueless to the strange world he enters in the movie (he ends up following Giselle into Manhattan) and before we know it, he's starting to be a bit like Giselle too and starts complaining about why everything in the real world must be so hard. Actresses like Idina Menzel who have a more supporting role do the job well too, but it's obvious that the main focus is on Amy Adams with her believable princess-like acting.

Another notable thing I found about this film is its transition from an animated world into live action. It is done very well, and it's quite interesting seeing objects turn from a 2D animated form, into a real-looking object in a matter of a second. The movie also has quite a few nice songs in it. One certain scene where Giselle bursts into a random song number at the park will certainly stick to your mind, and the film's overall direction is really good.

Simply put, I really, REALLY, liked Enchanted. While it may lack a lot in terms of originality and even if the ending is incredibly predictable, the movie simply can't help but make you smile, and with the incredible mass of gory and mature movies coming out, it was nice to see something that's sugary coated like this movie, and what I liked even more was the way it delivered the message that Disney seems to have been trying to send us all along, the message that "happily ever afters" can happen in real life, you simply must have enough determination and hope to get it.

----------

Anyways, I made a new review over the past...er, few weeks. It's actually a review for Odin Sphere! Check it out:

ODIN SPHERE REVIEW

I actually made a review for the game before and gave it a 6.0, but since I never finished the game and I thought I wasn't being fair, I deleted the review and replayed the game again, making sure I finished it. Surprisingly enough, I really liked the game this time! I think it's because I learned how it was supposed to be played. Back when I first played the game, I treated it like some sort of generic Dynast Warriors hack and slash where I just keep attacking waves of enemies but when I did that, I kept dying and I got frustrated :P Now I finally learned that I have to use strategy and use my reflexes in order to properly find the right time to attack and dodge the enemy! Things ended up beig less frustrating and the game was way more enjoyable so this time and I could appreciate the story so I gave it a much higher score. Feel free to recommend the review! Or you could not recommend it, but if you think it was bad then please give me some constructive criticism! ^_^

----------

In other news, my brother got a PSP as an early Christmas present! ^_^ Wow, it looks really awesome! He doesn't any games for it yet but I can't wait to see how it is in action! He already has a bunch of songs on it though.

----------

Well, that's all for now! See ya all soon! ^_^

Platyphyllum's Favourite Game Companies: Squaresoft

Hello everyone, nice to see you all again! ^_^

------------

Nothing too interesting has been happening lately. I've been playing some Odin Sphere and as usual, school is as homework-heavy as usual, and for some reason, I just felt the sudden urge to blog right now :P Since I don't really have any fantastic ideas and nothing too interesting ever happens during the school days, I decided that occasionally, I will write random blogs about my favourite game companies! ^_^ Anyways, my first pick is Squaresoft which is actually a company that no longers produces games but lives on through the company known as Square-Enix.

----------

sdf

Ah, Squaresoft! You had given me so many wonderful (and wasted, but still fun) days back when I had my Playstation. Although you have ceased to produce games ever since you merged with Enix and formed the company "Square Enix", your games still hold a rather special place in my memories!

Squaresoft was actually first a small developer for the NES (back then they were simply called Square Co. or just Square). They made hits like Rad Racer and 3-D WorldRunner. However, these titles did not last for long and eventually, Square was at the edge of bankruptcy because of their lack of quality titles. So they decided to ask a man known as Hironobu Sakaguchi to make one last game for them. Because Square was going bankrupt and Mr. Sakaguchi was planning on retiring, they ironically named the game "Final Fantasy". However, as many of you know, that fantasy was far from final and has spawned countless sequels and spin-offs over the years and Square ended up being one of the most successful companies ever and continued to produce quality titles like Final Fantasy II, III, IV, V, VI, Secret of Evermore, Super Mario RPG, and much more.

dfg

While they did hesitate, Squaresoft decided to go ahead and move over to the Playstations because of the cheaper costs when it came to developing on CDs instead of cartridges. Eventually, this decision payed off as games like Final Fantasy VII received great critical response and sold millions of copies. They continued making great games like Vagrant Story and Parasite Eve. Of course, they eventually moved to the PS2 where they made games like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X, but they quickly came to an end when they decided to join with Enix to create an entirely new company known as "Square-Enix"!

sdf

Well, Squaresoft isn't making games today but I sure loved them when they did! ^_^ I'll never forget those countless hours spent playing c.lassics like Parasite Eve, all the Final Fantasies, and (yes, believe it or not, I liked this game) Unlimited SaGa. While they have had failures, their obvious effort into creating new ideas (something that Square-Enix seems to be lacking) and good storylines for their time simply inspired me and they quickly got added to my "Favourite Companies" list that is in my head. ^_^

----------

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this! ^_^ See you all soon! ^_^

WarioWare: Smooth Moves Review

Hello everybody! Nice to see you all again! ^_^

----------

So, how are you all! I'm rather fine myself! It may be 11:03 in the evening but that won't stop me from blogging :P So, in today's blog, I will be talking about WarioWare: Smooth Moves and a review I made for it.

----------

Here's my new review for WarioWare: Smooth Moves!:

WARIOWARE: SMOOTH MOVES

Sorry about the delay for this review! I got this game waay back last month but I never got to reviewing it :P I've been swamped with homework but luckily, I had some free time so I made a review! ^_^ Please read it and recommend/not recommend it! ^_^ Please give some constructive criticism if you thought the review was bad!

The game is incredibly fun and I've had a great time playing it! ^_^ However, just like my review says, it relies far too much on multiplayer. If you mainly play alone and you don't have any siblings or parents or a husband/wife to play with, then this game just ends up being a must-have rental (unless you're building up a collection then by all means, buy it!) because it really should be played, but if you like entertaining many friends with your Wii, this game is a must-have! ^_^

I'm going to stop buying slightly old games for now and next, I'll be getting "Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles" for the Wii and "The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" for the DS! Both of which are new releases so expect reviews for those soon! ^_^

----------

Unfortunately, that's all I have to say for now. Not much happening, I know but unfortunately, that's just how it is. Thanks for reading! ^_^

My Favourite Game Series

Hello everyone! It's very nice to see all of you! ^_^

----------

Well, I was just browsing through some of my friends' blogs the other day and I happened to find one that was about video game series that he/she is most passionate about. Unfortunately, I cannot remember who this specific user was :( but I thought it would be a great idea to make one of my own blogs in a similar style to that one so...here is! Here some of my most favourite game series of all time! ^_^

----------

Final Fantasy

sdf

So I begin my list with one of the most beloved franchises for both me and many others which is Final Fantasy! ^_^ I first ventured into the world of Final Fantasy back on the first Playstation with the game "Final Fantasy VII". I was intrigued by it's deep storyline, a gameplay system I hadn't seen much of before (I was 7 years old back then, the only things I really played were platformers and things like Pokemon) and great character development so I continued playing other Final Fantasies like VIII and IX which I both loved! ^_^ Of course, I then made the "next gen" (for that time) leap to the PS2 where I played Final Fantasy X, and I revisited past c.lassics in games like Final Fantasy I and II: Dawn of Souls and Final Fantasy IV, and V Advance which I all enjoyed immensely! ^_^ Currently I am looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 but I'm not interested in the console that much right now...well, maybe in the future I'll get it once I am convinced and I'll be able to play that incredibly gorgeous looking Final Fantasy! ^_^

Favourite Game(s) in Series: Final Fantasy IV, V, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII

Games in the Series That I Haven't Played: Far too many for me to list :( Final Fantasy VI and Tactics Advance just to name a few.

Ace Attorney

dfg

Yikes, I bet you all saw this coming from a mile away :P Sorry for the predictability of this list :P Well, the Ace Attorney series makes its way to my Favourite Game Series list! ^_^ I first noticed this game after browsing through the DS game pages here on Gamespot several times looking for good games. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney kept appearing with it's rather high "8.8" score so I succumbed to its power and bought it :P Despite the fact that I knew nearly nothing about courtroom procedures at that times (other than the fact the people there are fighting over who's guilty and who's innocent) I immediately got immersed into the world of Phoenix Wright who was a rookie defense attorney. The courtroom in the real world may be an icy, gloomy, drama-filled battlefield but in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, it was all humor, courtroom shennanigans, and a whole bunch of emotional plot twists just waiting to be thrown at you! Luckily, when I got it, the sequel "Justice for All" was just around the corner so I bought that too! ^_^ It certainly wasn't quite as impressive as the music didn't compare and having Franziska von Karma whipping you ever 5 minutes wasn't exactly all too pleasant. After waiting a bit more, I eventually got "Trials and Tribulations" which was a magnificent entry into the series! ^_^ I am looking forward to "Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney", the upcoming DS exclusive Ace Attorney game with all new DS-exclusive features featuring an all new "Ace Attorney" to play as and a more in-depth gameplay system! Yay, I can't wait! ^_^

Favourite Game(s): Ace Attorney, Trials and Tribulations

Unplayed Games: Apollo Justice/Gyakuten Saiban 4

The Legend of Zelda

sdf

Ah, The Legend of Zelda! I'm sure many others out there consider this series special, and I do too so The Legend of Zelda series gets a spot on my "Favourite Game Series" list! ^_^ *ahem* Well, my first journey into this series was on the Nintendo 64. It was on a game called The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I actually first saw it when I was visiting my brother's friend's house and it looked so awesome that I just had to get it! ^_^ I did get it one day and it was one of the best experiences I ever had!...Well, considering how it was actually one of my first games ever (I was like, 5 or 6 when I played it :P) that was understandable but the game was pretty epic! I just fell in love with using masks in order to transforms into a legendary Zora guitarist and swimming through the waters, or turning into a tougher than though Goron who was incredibly strong! It was really quite great! ^_^ The next time I visited the Legend of Zelda world was on the Gameboy Color on the game "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening". It was pretty nice and it was good to see the game from an overhead 2D perspective. Fast-forward to a few years earlier (2004, 2005) I got myself a Gamecube and the game "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" which was really nice! I loved the whole cel-shading thing! It really brought expression and life to the characters! ^_^ Sadly, I have only played 3 The Legend of Zelda games in my life. Of course, as of now, there's no particular Zelda game I am looking forward to since a new one hasn't been announced but I'm planning on picking up Twilight Princess or Phantom Hourglass in the near future! ^_^

Favourites in the Series: Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening

Unplayed Games: There's too many to list :( Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past to name a few.

Xenosaga/Xenogears

wer

Ah, so Xenosaga makes it onto my "Favourite Game Series" list! ^_^ I bet you all weren't expecting this since I don't talk about the series much but maybe my avatar would give it away :P So, my first venture into the "Xeno" series was actually waaaay back on the Playstation where I first played Xenogears. It was quite a magnificent game for me! The story, the characters, the huge mech-like Gears, it had everything that a story-heavy anime-ish RPG needed but it executed things almost flawlessly which was an incredible accomplishment! ^_^ Sadly enough, I don't have the game anymore. I have no idea where it is right now, I can't remember how I lost posession of it :P However, later on, on the PS2, a game called "Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht" came out and being the big fan of Xenogears that I was, I couldn't wait to try it out! ^_^ I was greeted once again with a story-heavy anime-s.tyle RPG that was executed wonderfully! With really good graphics too and an amazing ending! ^_^ Shortly after completing this game for a 2nd time, I went ahead and played "Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose" and I was...well, you could say disappointed. The game was extremely tedious and boring but because it was a continuation of the Xenosaga series, I couldn't help but like it since it helped the storyline move forward! ^_^ I'm still on the hunt for Xenosaga III but after that...I really don't know what to look forward to. Because of rather "average" sales (Namco expected it to sell millions here in the U.S. but it only sold around...I think 850,000), the series that was meant to be a 6-part series ended up stopping at number 3. The future of the series is questionable, but as of now, I'm not really looking forward to anything in the Xenosaga series in the future which is rather unfortunate :( I would've loved to see a next-gen KOS-MOS.

Favourite Game(s) in the Series: Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille Zur Macht

Unplayed Games in the Series: Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra

Well...yeah, that's it :P My gaming collection is quite small consisting of only 71 games and those games are of a huge variety so I haven't played many series to their fullest so I don't have too many favourites :P I hope you guys enjoyed this blog! ^_^

See ya all soon! ^_^

I'm Sorry...

Hello everyone! It is a pleasure to see you all! ^_^

----------

Um...well, actually, I'm making this blog as some sort of apology to all those who regularly and occasionally visit my blogs. I haven't made a single blog for the past week and the ones I did make before that were incredibly rushed. I just didn't imagine that school would get in the way so much here in Grade 8. Homework comes in everyday in huge piles and I simply haven't had enough time to make much of a decent blog or make a review. I also haven't been visiting your profiles much lately so I'd like to aplogize for that. I really have had some ideas for blogs in the past week but there simply hasn't been enough time so I just wanted to say sorry to everyone! I mean, you all take time to read whatever I post here and comment on it but I just suddenly disappear and forget all about you guys so I just wanted to say sorry again! I might make a new blog if my teacher is a bit more...er..forgiving but no guarantees unfortunately. I promise that I will try comment on your blogs this weekend though! So, yeah, just don't expect me to be as active as I was before because school really is getting in the way and I really, really want to do a good job so I might study and do my homework instead of go on here so please try to understand! ^_^ Once again, I'm sorry for not visiting your profiles and commenting on your blogs!

What Happened? My Donna Happened

Hello everyone, good to see you all again! ^_^

----------

So, hello everyone and welcome to yet another one of my glorious blogs! ^_^ Today, I shall be talking all about the latest game I finished which is Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations! Those of you who have been tracking my blog may have known that a few (5 or 6) days ago, I bought the third game in the Ace Attorney series and the last game in the Phoenix Wright trilogy! Well, since I easily got addicted once again to the courtroom system, I blasted through the game in the past weekend and have made my very own review for the game.

PHOENIX WRIGHT ACE ATTORNEY: TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS REVIEW

Feel free to recommend it! ^_^ Also, if you wish, you can give me some constructive criticism if you felt like the review was bad.

Well, I have officially finished the Phoenix Wright arc of the Ace Attorney series! When I got the ending and looked back at all the good times I had with this game, I really felt incredibly sad that I would be leaving his adventures together with Maya Fey but it also gives me a chance to look forward to the upcoming, really good looking Ace Attorney game known as Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney! Although, that is to be a topic of discussion for another time.

I must say, Trials and Tribulations is certainly the strongest game in the franchise! It is the hardest game, the first, fourth, and fifth cases are just filled with so much fanservice (not in terms of the "usual" fanservice that some people are probably thinking of but the fanservice when it comes to the story. People have been waiting for extremely long lengths of time just to know more about Mia and Phoenix's pasts) and such! The game was also quite long, it lasted me around 35 hours!

I have to throw in a word for the characters of the game though. I must say, the cast of characters in Trials and Tribulations is memorable and much better than the new cast of Justice for All but...in many ways I was disappointed to see the lack of returning characters from the first game. Sure we get annoying as heck (in the 5th case) Larry Butz but what about the c.lassics that made us laugh so much with their wacky personalities like Wendy Oldbag (who thankfully, got many references and a cameo appearance in this game) and Lotta Hart? I was really disappointed to see them not being there but the cast was still great! It was nice seeing Adrian Andrews who was a character from the 2nd game to make a return appearance with her new black sweater and her orange notepad which makes her look ever so pretty.

Although, I have to say, it was this entry in the series that had the least impact on me. The first and second game just gave me such a mix of emotions that include sadness (usually at the end of the game), sorrow (for the pains and difficulties that certain characters had to go to), and happiness (thanks to those laugh out loud moments that Wendy Oldbag delivered) but the third one rather disappointed me, but it was actually kind of my fault. To put it simply, before I bought this game, I had absorbed EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF MEDIA I found. I actually read up all about each character, what the cases are about, I accidentally stumbled upon this script of the ending, etc., etc. and thus I was not able to get the full experience. I did not let that get in the way of my review though and gave it a higher score than what I felt because I know I could've gotten so much more out of that game.

Anyways, I think I'm rambling on about this game and I'm really sleepy since I'm posting this at 1:07 AM in the morning so yeah, I'll stop >_> See ya all soon!
