Is it just my imagination or has there been lately a rather consistent stream of industry vets leaving the industry to try innovative or make retro stuff? Btw, @WCU_deva, I totally thought vet stood for veterinarian in the title before reading the article. ^^

I think both types of games are great. It's a shame that the everyman protagonist is so rare, so kudos to game designers who take that path. ^^

I'm buying a lot of games and I'm buying all of them new. I know I'm not representative of the whole gaming community, but honestly, why should I care? I feel I am punished for the actions of an unspecified number of strangers, when, according to them, I'm among the "good" customers who help them keep the lights on. Lot of gratitude I get for that...

It warms my heart to read statements like Cannon's. We need to call out male-dominated scenes on their misogynistic behavior. It's not just for the women (obviously, we would benefit from being safer and more welcome and appreciated), it's also for the men. Cause you guys like women, right? So why wouldn't you want more women in your clubs? It's time for you to realize that hanging around women doesn't make you gay it makes you more likely to find a mate. Cheers ^^

Great article. Personally, I think too many people are paying too much attention to the scores... What matters much more to me are the reviews, video and text. From the score, I can guess the likelihood of the majority of people liking the game... From the review, I can guess the likelihood of _my_ liking the game. Take FFXIII-2 and Soul Calibur V whose reviews just came out and they had the same score. From the reviews, I learned that I will most probably love FFXIII-2 and most probably not like SCV enough to justify the price. That's what reviews are for: to tell you what's good and what's lacking in a game, so that you can make your own informed decision.
