@001011000101101 Have you actually played through Journey? I personally don't think the same level of immersion and emotion could have been conveyed if there wasn't the exploration and flawless light-as-a-feather platforming.
And Braid is a great 2D-platformer. You might not like that genre, but to say it's not a game... it sounds very silly to me.
@DeViLzzz @Caldrin There are ways to get beta keys besides pre-ordering, like grabbing a beta key in time on GameSpot or playing the hell out of Facebook's Secret War, but pre-ordering is the easiest way.
Review scores are meant to signal how likely it is that a random player will enjoy the game. It's no surprise that uninspired rehashed recipes like CoD get huge scores: they are enjoyed by millions (even though that fact makes me sick, it is still a fact).
Revelations 2012 deserves its abysmal score because nobody outside the development team will ever like it. Could be the devs don't either.
The only games I've ever seen look worse than this were E.T. and Limbo of the Lost. Even Big Rigs and Gods and Generals look like fun compared to this horrendous mess.
To all people reading this article here and thinking "Oh, my, LucasArts is even worse than EA", you should go read the Eurogamer feature.
Or let me save you time with the conclusion: LucasArts, EA and Activision are all awful.
It's to be expected, though: they admittedly care only about their investors and profits and not about their products, their employees or their customers.
From the devs website: "Kevin Weeks is the Chief Gaming Officer for Dark Artz Entertainment. He has been gaming since the years of pinball in the arcades. His experience with project management in the electrical world is easily translated into running the level design department of the company."
No wonder there's no level design, if he takes his cues from pinball. ^^
