Tamriel, HOOO!!!!

Well, despite what you guy's told me (not that I don't respect your opinions), I got Morrowind: GOTY Edition. I haven't played it yet, so I can't really give my opinion on it yet, but it came with this huge map (my father asked me if it was a map of Europe :P ), so I'm already intimidated. However, I'm saving money (hoarding really), and this is likely to be my last monetary expenditure for a while, but it ought to keep me busy for a while! I tried to find Shenmue II, but didn't locate it, although I'll continue to look. And OF COURSE I would have gotten Oblivion had that been an option, but I have neither a 360, not a high-end PC. :( But I am confidant I'll get my money's worth from Morrowind. :)

In lesser news, I upgraded my PSP to Firmware 2.70, which basically does nothing except further cement it from home-brews, the only significant benefit being that it can now play flash games over it's internet browser, but I have yet to experiment with that and find out, you know, if it actually works or not. The main reason I upgraded was just to be up-to-date, for the sake of being up-to-date. Yeah, that sounds really dumb. I know. But hey, every time a major game comes out they force you to upgrade anyways, so I'm just ahead of the curve.

Okay, Final Decision Time/Year In Review's

Okay, I've been thinking over what I want to get to get for a while, and I'm still undecided! And I can even get anything, I'm not even bound by budget for once!! You know, this isn't the problem I'm supposed to have. I'm considering all your suggestions, but I still don't know. I'm gonna go search for more ideas, later! Next time I post hopefully I'll have what ever game I go with in hand...

Also, I am sick of having to look for the [insert year here] in review features for hours every time I wanna look at them, so I'm starting an archive here:

2005

2004

2003

2002

I've officially lost all hope in Nintendo

Look at this. Yep, it's gonna be called the Wii. That's probably the stupidest name I've ever heard for a console. Ever. They should have stuck with the Revolution. You wanna know why? BECAUSE THAT ACTUALLY SOUNDED GOOD!!!! I mean come on, what marketing exec came up with "Wii"? Whoever it was should be fired immediately, this could very well be the end for Nintendo. The Wii. Man, I just can't get over how dumb that sounds. I won't buy it just because I don't wanna tell people I own a Wii. I just can't picture myself getting my Splinter Cell on with a Wii. And aren't they targeting casuals? Do you know any casuals who will buy a Wii over a PS3 or 360? I certainly don't.

In other news, I got a tagging emblem, yay! :D I only have the entrance-level one, so I'm gonna keep tagging stuff as I see it, but it's nice to know I'm getting somewhere with this.

Also, I'm still taking game recommendations, so keep them coming in!

edit: I never approve of making fun of...the disadvantaged, but I have to put this here. Wiitarded.

Your Ideas!

Seeing as how, after two straight days of mental debate, and doubting if I should buy either one (see my last blog post), I've ditched my previous ideas! I just want you guys to tell me any good PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube games you've played in the past! This is a free-for-all, tell me what you think! I can do a $50 game, but being less than that is always a plus. Note that my options from my last post stand, but you can recommend me anything, not just those two. Just tell me your favorite games! :D (Note that I'm note a huge fan of RPG's.)

Decisions, Decisions...

I've run into a little money, and I can get a game without breaking the bank, yay for me! :D Anyways, here's what I'm deciding between: (one of these will be obvious for anyone who reads my blog.)

  1. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  2. Kingdom Hearts II
  3. -reserved for future ideas-

I could get Morrowind and Kingdom Hearts II if I wanted too, but I'd be pushing it.  I know I haven't previously talked about Kingdom Hearts II, but everyone I've talked to who's played it can't stop raving. You guy's thoughts?

Okay, I'm Fed Up With This

I don't wanna sound like a quitter, but I'm rapidly becoming frustrated by Syphon Filter online.  The high-levels have all sorts of nasty stradegies to ensure that no one else EVER gets past the third rank without throwing up their arms in frustration.  Mining spawn points, stacking teams (putting all the good people in one team), using no weapons but shotguns, you name it.  And I'm sick of it.  Why should I try in vain to beat a top-level guy dual-wielding shotguns when I can be playing a fair match-up in Socom? Of course,  I'll still play it's online sometimes, and it's single-player is 10X better than Socom's, so it was still a good purchase.

I've had purchasing Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the back burner for a while now, but I can now if I want to.  Unlimited replay,  countless things to do...what else do you need?  A few weeks ago I was at Gamestop and on the fence about buying it, but this lady came in and I talked to her, and she said that you spent the entire time just walking from one quest to the other and it got really old, so I got Panzer Dragoon Orta instead.  Well, I still want Morrowind.  The only thing that's holding me back is that I don't wanna spend more money than I already have.

As for what I'm playing right now, I'm liking Gun a lot.  You don't spend that much time doing the main missions,  you mostly go around doing side quests like being a farm hand, and being a bounty hunter.  Normally I don't like side quests, because you take an hour to do one, and then an NPC walkes up to you and says, "Congratulations! Now I will give you a mystical emerald ring that will increase your magical defense +1!".  I hated that.  But in Gun, it feels like your really accomplishing something because you get paid and can go buy new stuff to improve your guns fire rate, power, accuracy, load times, ect., and you get stat boosts.  For example, for taking a bounty your gun handling stats go up, for helping a farmer on a ranch your horse-riding skill goes up.  Awesome game, I just hope the story mode is longer than they say it is.

I'm back!!

Sorry for my absence, but I've been very busy lately, but I'm back now! :D Updating what I've been doing, I finally have my router set up and running (after only two calls to tech support :P ), and my PSP has been seeing some major action because of this.  I already have Socom, and I bought Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, which is also awesome(my screen name is, shockingly, KIELW93, if anyone wants to shoot me a friend request).  I really want to buy a compilation for my PSP now, and the only two realistic options seem to be Namco Battle Museum, and Capcom Classics Collection Remix.  Namco Battle Museum is pretty old now, so I could probably get it significantly cheaper, but both games have very different collections. Namco has Galaga, Pac-Man, and that kind of thing, whereas Capcom has Strider, 1941, and the original Street Fighter (which I've never played). I need help picking! I haven't called Gamestop yet for pricing, but again, Namco is probably much cheaper. Help me!!

Wireless Router!

I'm becoming more and more skeptical of buying a 360 before the PS3 comes out I compare their performances. For all we know Sony could come out running and implode the 360, just like they did with the Dreamcast. Well, if I wait for the PS3 comes out, that's a good amount of time. So, I'm strongly considering buy a $60 router with WPA encryption for my PSP to play online. I already have Socom: Fireteam Bravo and I would get Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for it, and maybe Fight Night Round 3, which has online. This would be a MAJOR hit to my 360 savings, but I could save it all up again in time for the PS3 launch (and Christmas, conveniently enough). This would give these games almost unlimited replay, and I could start gaming on my PSP again, which recently I have only been using as an MP3 player. I'd have to sell the idea to my father, but I'm confidant I could get that done (he has this thing about wireless stuff ever since he saw this special about it on 60 Minutes). You guy's thoughts?

I could also get Kingdom Hearts 2, which would be much cheaper and easier, although I would have to delete some stuff off my memory card. But it would not provide as much long-term benefit.

Spring Break!

I'm officially on spring break, yay!! :D I can sit here on Gamespot for as long as I want until Monday!!! If you read my blog you'll know that I've recently acquired a love of Syphon Filter, and I already have Syphon Filters 1& 2, so if I can I think I'm gonna try and find 3, so I have the whole original trilogy.

Also, I've picked up a new hobby-reporting spam reviews to administrators! I've found and reported two reviews that were TOTAL spam.  Now I'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed that the admins agree me! If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get a level percentage bonus, but the satisfaction of knowing I'm making GS a better place is the only reward I need. Well, since today is my first day of break, and I'm stuck at home alone all day, I guess I'm just gonna stay on GS, I might go play Syphon Filter some later, but that's about the extent of my plans today. I'm gonna go spam-review hunting some more, and I can be contacted by PM immediately today if anyone has something to say!

I wish GS would hurry up

Getting out the new community contributor emblems, so I can get a jump on getting one. I want at least six emblems, and all the other emblems we know of are really hard to get.  Also, it would be really cool if there were emblems for having so many posts.  You know, an emblem for 3500 posts, and emblem for 5000 posts, one for 1000...not for like every 100 or 1000, but for big milestones.  That would be really cool.

And on a more political note regarding the immigration issue,  I really wish Congress would quit beating around the bush with it and just take some kind of action.  As for what I'd like to see happan, I'd like to see immigration controls to tighten up.  I have absolutly no problem with legal immigrants, but it's a different story for illegal immigrants.  I think all illegal immigrants should be deported, and more border security should be hired.  I'm not saying a wall should be built (although that could be a last-ditch option if all else fails), but we really can't have people sneaking across out borders in the middle of the night.  Wait in line and immigrate legally.
