@InvalidName13 Reasons to get a new PS3: The Last of Us, God of War Ascension, Beyond: Two Souls, PS All-Stars BR, LBP Karting, Sly 4 and more. Still lots of life left in the PS3.
@MeatWood89 Haha, what a joke. Tell me you're kidding! Micro$oft started this whole timed-exclusive or bonus content trend. They couldn't compete with the sheer amount of PS3 exclusive titles so they started throwing bags of cash at publishers to get either exclusive content or at least get that content first on the 360. Sony does this too, but not as much as Micro$oft does and Sony's is more of a response to M$ as they can't just sit back and allow them to cut deals with all the major multiplatform titles.
@rarson I also fix computers and computer problems for a living and again I agree with a lot of what you're saying. In fact I think my Xbox Live motto is: "It's an ID10T error, the problem occurred between the keyboard and the chair ;) ".
So yeah I would agree most PC problems are either hardware-related (bad sectors on the drive, blown capacitors on the MoBo, dead RAM or a fried RAM slot, etc), or software/OS-related and most of those problems are user misuse and abuse.
@rarson You make some good points. I think I made one FB status update and sent out one tweet from My 360 the first day those apps were available and haven't opened either one since.
About IE's security risks on the 360 vs on a PC with Windows, one of the biggest differences is the OS itself. As long as there's a registry that can be so easily manipulated and an environment where .exe files can get installed or scripts run either intentionally or not, Windows will always be more of a security risk than the 360's OS. Maybe not in terms of personal information being leaked/stolen, but more in terms of actual harmful software that causes system instability or even system crashes. If this were to become the case, we'd need a Norton or AVG app to go along with our FB and Twitter apps ;)
@jurk182 Haha, yeah now that "Mr. Chocolate & Peanut Butter" Cliffy B is gone, she gets a job with Epic. I know she's not at the same branch as Cliff used to work at , but it's still funny regardless.
On my PC at home and work, I try to use Internet Explorer as little as possible. I like the speed of Chrome and the stability of Firefox. Certain websites or web-based apps only work in IE, so sometimes I have to use it, but if given the choice I don't.
However, IE on the 360 will surely be a completely different program because of one major difference - No Windows. Because IE is the default, built-in browser that comes with Windows, it is obviously the most targeted/exploited as far as malware, toolbars, infections etc go. This is due to holes in the browser yes, but also to holes in Windows itself.
I'm willing to give it a shot on my 360 and see how it goes. Hell I can't imagine it being much worse than the PS3 browser!
However taking away those dedicated apps for Facebook and Twitter so that people will be forced to use their browser is a bit of a shady move.
