@christophersays: Very good callout on this. You are using your head. To oversimply things, RAM exists because even the fastest hard drives are slow. Load times exist because of the time it takes to copy data from the hard drive into memory. That being said, the load times on the eMMC model will likely rival that of the PS5; Valve is not putting some dollar store USB NAND on this. The only performance differences between these models will be measured in a handful of seconds during load times. The only exception will be very poorly optimized games.

I bought the high-end model because I want to partition (run multiple OS's) and mod the device. If you just want to game, the low end model is like 4 times faster than the Switch in every regard.
