Damn I just noticed that my car needs an oil change...

Just today I looked at the little sticker in the upper left portion of my windshield and just noticed that my oil change is past due. I'm usually on time with type of thing but for some reason it just slipped my mind. I'm going to have to go on Wednesday when I get paid to get it done.

I finally got Guilty Gear X2# Reload yesterday

I'm having a lot of fun with this game. It brings me back memories from when playing at the arcades. The game itself looks awesome. Some when playing online there could be some minor lag but once you start playing with a friend, time will pass and you won't even notice. It's a great game and it's only $20. :)

It was good to see Dave Chappelle live.

I got to say that it was really fun. I had 3rd row seats to the event. The show kicked off at about 7:45pm with an opening act of comedian Greer Barnes:

This guy was really funny, he made some amazing sound effects and body movement that went really well with what he was joking about. I had never heard of him before until they said that he started in the movie "For the Love of The Game" with Kevin Costner.

Well it was around 8:05pm or so when he said that his time was up and proceeded to introduce Dave Chappelle.

Dave came out to a standing ovation from the crowd. He joked a little about our town, racism, sex and tv shows. The show ended about 9:00pm but then as he was leaving the stage, he decides to come back for one more joke which lasted a good 10 more minutes. Overall it was a great show and Dave was hilarious as usual. Too bad that cameras weren't allowed or else I would've snapped some pictures.

I just came back from watching a kick ass movie called:

ZATOICHI: THE BLINDSWORDSMAN

Who is Zatoichi? Like the much beloved JamesBond in the USA, "Zatoichi", is one of Japan's longest running film andTV series. "Zatoichi" came into being in 1962, and after 26 films and aTV series it ended in 1989 when the late Shintaro Katsu, the only man toever bring Zatoichi to life, passed away, leaving the iconic role without a face.

Sypnosis: The title character Zatoichi is a blind nomad in 19thcentury Japan, who makes his living as a gambler and masseuse. Don't be fooled though, behind his humble facade lies a master swordsman with lightning fast reflexes and hair-raising precision. He is part martial arts master, part detective, part yakuza, part pathos, and is arguably the world's most popular fictional character in history.

Zatoichi comes into a country town dominated by two battling clans who are themselves in the process of being replaced by an even more ruthless gang. Also entering into this internecine strife are a former samurai offering himself to the dominant gang to pay for his wife's medical expenses, and a pair of beautiful geishas who seek revenge on the criminals who killed their parents 10 years earlier.

My take on the film: If you get a chance to watch this movie at the theatres then by all means do so. It's one of the best movies I've seen ever. Great direction and coordination and the acting was right on. They also give a lot of depth to the characters so that you really get to know them. The action is intense. My mouth just dropped on some of the scenes. Takeshi Kitano did a great job. For those of you that don't know him, he's a good director and he also played the teacher in Battle Royale. The best thing about the film is that it was shown in its original Japanese (I think) language so there wasn't any corny dubbing. The subtitles were also right on. I can't find a single thing that I didn't like about this film. Trust me it is that good.

Now this movie has been playing since July 23rd, but it has been a limited release so it just now arrived at my local theatre. If you don't see it in a theatre near you, don't worry the DVD is scheduled to come out on November 9th so be sure to pick it up or at least give it rent. I would even go as far as saying that is was better than both Kill Bills.

Xbox Live

Well I just got some Xbox Live. My gamertag is: P2R. The only Xbox Live games that I have right now are ESPN NFL 2K5 and Burnout 3 and soon to have DOA Ultimate. So if you feel like playing, hit me up.

I've decided to get Burnout 3: Takedown

Lately I've been rather picky with buying $50 dollar games. I used to do that a lot before but now I just wait until they are cheap or I just rent them for a weekend and try to beat them before the due date. Since I'm almost about done with Tales of Symphonia, I figured that I needed a new game soon. As many of you know that game was Guilty Gear X2 Reload for the Xbox which I pre-ordered yesterday but unfortunately got delayed until next week. No biggie, I can wait a week for a game as awesome as that one is going to be. However last night out of the blue, I felt a need, a need for speed.

It's been a while since I last played a good racing game. The last good racing game that I remember playing were Gran Turismo 3 and TOCA Race Car Driver. I had previously rented Project Gotham Racing 2 but I didn't like the way the cars manuevered. I played Need for Speed Underground at a friend's house but it got boring kinda quick. So it hits me, SRS and Burnout 3 are the most recent racing games. We all now that SRS didn't do to well and it just looks like a wannabe NFSU with some chicas added to it and that's not what I'm looking for. So I decided to go to IGN to read the review of Burnout 3 and I was impressed. But of course, I don't trust IGN too much when it comes to reviews because I think that they exagerrate with their scores.

So I came back to the Gamespot homepage, and right in my face is the review and video review of Burnout 3. After listening to Jeff's review and reading it as well, I decided that I would be a fool not to get this game. This game is like Gran Turismo meets Twisted Metal, which are two of my favorite game series. Add online play and custom soundtracks to the mix and you got one hell of a game that is worth the $50 price tag.

Guilty Gear X2 Reload

I searched the whole town today trying to get this video game but no one seems to have it yet. Everyone tells me to come back tomorrow. I guess I won't have any other choice. Well, at least I was relieved that they didn't have Burnout 3 or Silent Hill 4 in stock until tomorrow either which leads me to believe that the delay was due to the Labor Day holiday. I did end up buying The Punisher on DVD today though.

Allergy Season

It's been allergy season for me because I've been having these terrible sinus headaches that have just been a pain in the ass. This past weekend I was sick and it all started by a minor sniffle here and there but then it turned into a non-stop sneezing attack, runny nose etc. I've taken some sinus medicine but that hardly ever works. Yesterday I even had a fever. Today is Monday and thankfully I feel a little bit better. I hope this ends soon, I don't want to be sick for when I go to see Dave Chappelle next Sunday.

Happy Labor Day!!

Tales of Symphonia

Well last night I finally got through the first disc of the game. Now I'm in disc #2 and things are just getting better and better. If I have a chance, I'm going to try and beat it tonight.

:)
