The crapload that I bought today:

CD

This is a great hip-hop album. No mainstream crap here, this is album is just fire.

DVDs

In the mood to watch some classic football movies so I got:

Here's a personal favorite that was only $6 so I said why not:

This is Jamie Foxx's funniest stand-up joint:

A must-have classic DeNiro film:

Video Games:

I bought an official GC Memory Card after the bad experience I had with the Madcatz one.

Finally, after seeing how expensive the PSP is going to be, I gave in and decided to get:

Owned by the Memory Card

So it's 2:30AM and I'm at the final boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door when all of a sudden the game freezes up on me when I was using the "Supernova" power. So I said to myself, "No biggie, I'll just reset the game and load it from the last save point". However, that was not the case. When I started up my game again, it refused to load my saved game. It said that there was an error reading the memory card. So I shut off the GC and took out the disc and power the GC back up to go to the Memory Card menu.

When I got to the menu it said that the data on the memory card was corrupt and that it needed to be reformatted. So then I tried shutting it off again and loading back up but to no avail. The whole memory card was corrupted and there was no way out but to reformat the damn thing. After doing so, I was left with an empty memory card. My "Completed Game" file from RE4 was wiped out as was the Paper Mario game save. I'm so angry right now, I feel like taking a hammer and smashing the memory card to pieces. I just can't believe that this happened right at the final boss of Paper Mario. This was my third time renting the game so that I wouldn't have to buy it and now everything is gone.

I don't if it's because I'm using a Mad Catz memory card but I had some of those for the PS2 and they never gave me any problems. Maybe I should just buy me an official GC memory card but then again why would the game freezing up have to do with my data getting corrupted when it was fine before?

I don't know, I'm so pissed right now. I think I need a beer right about now.

Well I just beat Resident Evil 4...[Spoilers]

and just in time before it was due back to the store. For those of you that don't know, I only had a chance to rent it so I was trying my darndest to beat it before it was due, which I did.

Well let me start off by saying what an awesome game this is. This game kept me on the edge of my seat every minute that I was playing it. I loved the way the whole plot/story was put together. I almost felt like I was playing many games at once since it has so much variety. Everything was kick ass. I loved how you can upgrade the weapons which is a very nice addition not to mention the yellow herbs. The controls felt just right to me and I loved that unlike other RE games, you can aim freely now.

I loved the extras that you get after beating the game. The Mercenaries game is awesome since you can unlock other characters and the mini-game with Ada is a nice addition to the package as well. I also loved the many movie references they had, that was cool. Overall is it a spetacular game. So far it is the best game that I've played in 2005, however had this game actually come out in 2004, I would've still chosen MGS3 over this game. Just I enjoyed MGS3 from beginning to end.

Sadly the only flaw that RE4 has is the ending. The ending for RE4 is one of the worst endings in a video game. After you see the credits roll you almost feel incomplete as if you are waiting for something else to happen which sadly never does. I mean the least they could've done is show Leon delivering Ashley back to the President, but no, that would've been too much to ask. But other than that RE4 is a must have GC title because you've never played a game like this one before.

Here are my final stats:

Hit Ratio: 76%
Enemies Killed: 970
# of Times Killed: 19
Clear Time: 20:15'39"

Assault On Precinct 13

Just came back from watching it and I must say that it was pretty good. There was enough action to keep me interested all the way through. Ethan Hawke's character looks right out of Training Day. You should think of it as "Officer Hoytt" in his own adventure. The rest of the cast was great and John Leguizamo was hilarious. The plot was somewhat predictable but it still didn't take away from the fun of it. Overall, it was a decent flick, one that I enjoyed enough to buy the DVD when it comes out.

Overall Score: 4/5

The whole world has Resident Evil 4 except me.

Well this is my first entry of 2005 and not a very pleasing one at that.

It sucks to be broke. I was planning on buying a Gamecube and Resident Evil 4 this weekend and everything was going as planned until the brakes of my car gave out on me. It's probably my fault for not having them replaced sooner but it all went down on me a couple of days ago when all of a sudden I started hearing a grinding noise everytime I braked. Went I stepped out of the car, I noticed that the rotor on the driver's side had a dent all around it from the metal that was scraping on it. So I took the car to Midas and got my brakes done and the rotor evened out.

Since my car uses ceramic brake pads, those were more expensive. The total bill came out to be $220 so there went my money to buy a Gamecube and RE4. Now I figured it wouldn't be a big deal, I'll just get it on my next paycheck, but then my fiancee tells me that she needs some money so that she can buy her books for school because the school loan didn't give her as much as she had expect it. So after she takes what she needed, I'm left with almost nothing because the rent is due as well. I only had about $18 to my name so I ended up getting the new Leon: The Professional DVD.

I come to the forums to see what's going on and it seems that everywhere I go, I'm bombarded with RE4 threads. The GC forum is just one big RE4 board and the UCBs that I go to has RE4 all over the place as well. Anything from impressions to "I beat the game" threads. So what to do, I guess I could just not come to the forums for a while until the RE4 hype dies down or simply return when I have the game as well so that I can also make fifty million threads on how awesome the game is. Some of you might not understand me but all of this RE4 talk is just driving me nuts because I don't have the game yet. Oh well, that's life for you. I know I'll get it eventually but the question is when...

Blade Trinity Review

Just came back from watching Blade Trinity and it was everything I expected it to be: Good cheesy fun.

With that said, Blade Trinity was definitely the weakest of all the Blade movies. Snipes did a good job as always but he's beginning to show his age. The guy who played Dracula was pretty good and Triple H got some good screen time and he was good at what he does which is being the bad guy. Ryan Reynold's character was hilarious and Jessica Biel's character really didn't add nothing to the mix, she pretty much wasn't needed.

They say that this movie served as an introduction to the Nightstalkers movie that they're planning to make but I just don't see Reynolds and Biel holding up a whole movie together. The final battle kinda left me wanting more but alas, it was entertaining. What I didn't like was the product placements. I didn't need to see an Ipod in a vampire movie. Special effects were on par and the soundtrack kept things moving fluidly.

Like I said, not the best outta the bunch but a decent popcorn flick.
