4 New Games To Keep Me Busy

Well three actually since I still don't own an Xbox360. I'm just buying some 360 games in advance. Steambot Chronicles ($40) doesn't pretend to be the next Final Fantasy but it defnitely looks like a lot of fun. Rogue Trooper($30) looks interesting and most people that already have the game say that it is awesome. Jaws ($10 w/ store credit) is a game that I just had to have in my collection regardless of how cheesy or bad it may be. I'm sure GS will flop it but I'm having a blast with it so far. Rockstar Presents Table Tennis ($40) I think this will become a cult hit and then everyone is going to try and hunt for a copy. I've always liked ping pong and was very good at it while I was in high school. Despite not having a career mode, it stills looks like a lot of fun.

I finally decided to update my profile!

Whew, it's been a while since I posted my last journal/blog entry so I decided to put it to use from now on. But before I did that, I needed to give my profile a much needed update. I added some more information on myself, updated my game collection and made some new banners. With that said I shall now be posting entries on this blog with more frequency. Well that's all for now, let me know how you like it.

Moving + Getting Married

If you don't see me in a while it is because I'm busy moving to Chicago and getting married as well. Needless to say, I won't be back in until after the honeymoon. When I come back, I'll be a married man living in Chicago. See you all in a few weeks!

After 50+ Hours, I Finally Beat...

Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time

This was a solid RPG from SquareEnix but the story fell kinda short at the end. I had fun with it overall and would recommend it to anyone looking for an RPG to play this summer. Since it is a Greatest Hits title, you can find it for $20 or less.

Overall Rating: 8/10

Now I can get back to playing Killer 7.

Movies I watched this weekend

Here are some movies that I saw this weekend:

Crash

This was a great movie. It's a film about racism and stereotypes. After watching this movie, you will get a reality check. Sadly, this movie will likely be overlooked due to people watching films like Star Wars Episode III and such. If you get a chance, go see this movie.

Open Water

This movie was really short but it was to the point. This movie is based on true events of a couple that go on vacation and decide to go scuba diving with a group people. They were supposed to be back in the boat at a certain time but ultimately they get left behind in the middle of the ocean. The film just goes on from there and it focuses on them trying to survive. The movie overall wasn't too bad but if you get a chance read up on the real story, it's much more interesting.

Boogeyman

Even though this movie was rated PG-13, it was decent. The movie tells a story of a man who's been scared of closets ever since he saw something inside a closet take away his father when he was kid. Now he must confront his fears before its too late. This movie makes for a decent rental. Just don't expect to be scared senseless.

House of Wax

I wasn't really expecting much out of this movie. Any movie with Paris Hilton, its probably not good at all. Surprisingly, I was wrong. I thought this movie was a pretty good horror movie. It has some pretty good scares and the plot keeps you interested all the way to the end. Don't let the fact that Paris Hilton is in it fool you. Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Growlanser Generations

I was in need for a good RPG, something old-school, something that would take me to the good days of RPG gaming. Yesterday while looking for Disgaea, I stumbled upon this game which I had been wanting for a while now. Since it was released in the holiday season, I just forgot completely about it. I picked it up yesterday for $40. Growlanser Generations includes two games in one package: Growlanser 2: Sense of Justice and Growlanser 3: Dual Darkness. Together they offer anywhere from 60-100 hrs of combined gameplay. Needless to say, I'll be playing this game all summer long.

I had to do it...

Just came home from EB.

I traded in my DS, Wario Ware Touched! and Super Mario 64 DS for store credit towards a PSP. The funny thing is that I just bought Super Mario DS last night. But after careful thinking and analizing, I determined that the DS was just not meant for me. I mean the touch screen is a cool feature but that isn't enough to pull me in all the way through. Hell, my fiancee was playing more than me. I bought Wario Ware Touched and it was a fun game but damn it was short as hell and once you unlock everything there's really no reason to play it unless you just want to beat your score over and over again. I played Super Mario 64 DS last night and I was really dissapointed.

Needless to say, I felt like it was a mistake buying the DS. Besides Advance Wars DS and a few other games, there really isn't any other games that I'm looking foward to and the lack of third party games also kills it. I'm also not looking foward to Metroid Prime Hunters since I've never been a Metroid fan. The PSP on the other hand offers more of what I'm looking for in a handheld, which is good 3rd party support, big screen, music, movies etc. The battery life doesn't bother me at all since I'm usually near a electric outlet anyways. Everybody saw what a good score Lumines got and I love Tetris type of puzzle games. I have about $100 more dollars to pay for the PSP. It may be a bit pricey but it brings everything you need off hand. So after its all said and done I think I'll be happy with the PSP.
