It's a risk you take with buying a console at launch. I'm happy with my purchase because I technically only paid £20 more than it sells for now, got the 20 free games and had time to download and play a number of VC releases. Black is also my preferred colour, of all those released so far.

Nintendo should have just gave everybody X amount of Nintendo dollars for the 3DS store front.

You should regret it, along with every other early adopter. The Ambassador thing is a joke and they thought you guys would be pleased with it. The 3DS became serious to me after it was reduced in price. I still don't have one though.

I can understand why some people regret getting it early but that doesn't mean everyone should.

I've been very happy with my 3ds from the beginning. I have plenty of 3ds and DS games that I have been playing through. No systems start off with an amazing library and I trusted Nintendo to deliver one as they've done in the past.

As far as the whole Ambassador program is concerned, I could care less. If they give us some games I enjoy, fantastic. If not, oh well. I got exactly what I payed for and I would happily pay that price again. The Ambassador games are just a bonus. Kudos to Nintendo for giving their customers something when they could have just as easily given nothing.

Aw...buck up! It may seem like you've jumped into the whole 3DS thing to soon (and yes, i think you did) butthat's alright. Unlike me and others who waited for other reasons, you got to experience a few games and had fun with them! I say next time a major system comes out wait forit to get a bunch of games you really, really want for it instead of going on just the hype and excitement of it all right form the get go and then having to wait ages for games that pique your interest to come out. I think too many people jump the gun and buy things because they are brand new and don't wait until they know about problems or wait for the right time to put down their hard earned cash.

What I'm trying to say is don't regret it. It's over. You can't do anything about it. Just look forward to the great games coming in the next half of a year. Oprah says, "when you know better, you do better!" :D

Lol. I regret being a 3DS owner and I bought it at the price drop. Still waiting on new games to come through. Remakes of N64 games I already have are just not appealing to me in any way. The only game I have is RE:Mercenaries which I got for my birthday. Technically I have only paid for the console since I bought it. What a drag.

I've been activately playing mine since I got it at launch, there's been a lot of random things to do that occupy my time, like all the Mii Plaza stuff.

really? i dont find those very entertaining, like the miiplaza, faceraders, AR cards, etc. my brother does though. the only time i was really enjoying the 3DS was when i played through OoT3D, my god it was awesome, and it left me hungry for some more true 3DS games.

I bought mine at launch for $250 as well. Idk if I'm satisfied or not. I was so hyped for the 3DS when it was first announced with all the Mario games and all the cool stuff it could do. Being a huge Mario fan since the NES days I just HAD to have a 3DS. Sure, some launch games were kind of cool for a while (I rented them all) and LoZ:OoT was really good (never played the original for N64), but I kinda rather have the $80... I could have used it to buy both Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7! lol

The whole ambassador program doesn't really mean much to me, the only NES games I cared to play were Super Mario Bros. and Yoshi just for a little while. I hope the GBA games are better, but even then, when they come out I'm going to have Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 to play lol

All in all, I think I learned my lesson. The 3DS is actually the first Nintendo system I've ever purchased at launch for full price even though I own every Nintendo system. For the Wii U, I'm definitely waiting for the good games first.

Not literally, but if I was an "Ambassador" I'd be pretty pissed at dropping $250 for a 3DS, a OoT remake, and no good new first party titles out. And then they give you $80 "worth" of VC games that you don't even get to choose.

The only thing I regret about getting it early is the White 3DS. I fall in love with white in the long run as opposed to owning black handhelds.

Then again this was meant for my sister so maybe, just maybe, I'll get a white one in the future. I doubt it though, what with me saving up for a Vita as well.

The thing is, early adopters such as myself have bought the 3DS for $250. That means we valued the system at $250, and thus the ambassador games are free, given what valued the system at $250. Some people have made a mistake, such as TC - they should have looked into it a bit more. But for someone as myself, and others in this thread, we made a good value judgement, and so our purchase was a good one, we got to play 3DS since March, and we got 20 free games.

You might be pi**ed, but you didn't value the system at $250 did you? So it makes sense why you would be pi**ed, and why you would regret it, because you didn't buy the system back then. But what's the point in discussing who bought it early and who didn't?

The OP's avatar and sig. I'm actually surprised you didn't know about it, she is one of the main characters in one of the most famous anime in Japan: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. The main character is a high school girl that doesn't know she is a god, so the world can end if she has nightmares or if she is depressed. You can watch it here:
http://www.animeseason.com/suzumiya-haruhi-no-yuuutsu/
On topic, I think its a little too late for the GBA Ambassador games to be released. SM3DL comes out tomorrow followed by Skyward Sword not long after. Then there is MK7 and a lot of other stuff on its way out. My attention won't be on the GBA games if its released now, I know that much :(

Yeah, I never watched any anime for more than 3 episodes straight. But then again, I'm not Japanese either. And we don't get Japanese channels here :( Which is sad, really. And I won't watch Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu until I can pronounce it! :P

It is late. The only thing I regret about being a 3DS owner (not early) is that we are never given a definite release date: Updates, GBA games, Flipnote Memo, Swapnote, et cetera.

I will only regret it if the next iteration of the 3DS has dual circle pads--I'm not going to use that awfully large and clunky addon for the original version of the handheld.

I feel your pain. Thankfully I got mines during that walmart early price drop deal. I bought it simply to take advantage of the lower price + the ambassador games. Had Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart not been launching this year I wouldn't have bothered.

But look at it this way: at least you learned a valuable lesson about being an early adopter. I learned my lesson with a few launch products (Orignal iPod, DS and PSP). I've never bought anything at launch since and I never will.

The terrible thing is, even if you buy something very late indeed, a newer model will STILL come. :P I bought the PSP years after its launch, and still the PSP Go came along. Not that it's better than the 2000 in any way, except size.

I regret supporting Nintendo at all after sticking to Sony since .... Then again, I won't bother again. Especially with the Wii-U. The problem with Nintendo is:

-Stingyness. The NES games were the worst games they found that wouldn't make them a dollar anyway.

-They give us the same old **** in Mario and Zelda, the same story, and STILL it sells.

-Mario needs to watch his waistline.

-eShop is terrible. A 3DS Downloadable game is released once in a blue baboon while they palm off already-existing games on us as new. Also, it's cluttered. Every category has pretty much the same games and the categories have names that are SUPPOSED to make us angry. Especially 'Games that don't suck.'

-Link's sword has wear, tear, and rust on it. Sorry, I play Crisis Core too much. :)

-No release dates for anything.

Parents should tell modern children the story of Nintendo and Sony. Nintendo chose to betray Sony while developing the SNES-CD, The result was that Sony beat Nintendo by a landslide by a console made from the SNES-CD, i.e Nintendo was impaled upon its own sword. In the third modern console war, Sony scoffed at Nintendo for making the Wii, so it lost. The moral is: You're never as good as they say you are, and you're never as bad as they say you are. (This has nothing to do with the storry :P )

To business: The 3DS had a really awkward release date. The console was a bunch of **** until today(Leh, Mario! Maaaaariooo!), its battery life is worse than the PSP, the 3D effect isn't revolutionary like they say it would be, it has design problems, and overall I think it was more of a gimmicky experiment than a serious competitor to the Vita.

And now ... cookies! :D

That's the longest load of crap i've read in a while. You clearly don't get the point to the Mario and Zelda games. That's like complaining at the lack of a story in Tetris. The 3DS eShop, while not great, is far from terrible and is growing each week. The SNES-CD add-on was an experiment in technology which went down two completely different routes, one with Sony and one with Phillips. The deal with Sony broke down because Sony wanted be in control of licencing games for the SNES CD add-on, which Nintendo wanted to remain in control of themselves. Fair enough. Finally, the 3DS had a poor launch line up, and a slow start, but Super Mario 3D Land is not the consoles saving grace and neither was Ocarina. Whilst there are bigger games on the horizon, there are still some great games on the system already. More so if you've been gaming for more than 20 years.

Eek, that was harsh. Tetris is an arcade-style game, so it isn't supposed to have a story. Mario and Zelda have stories, but they're always the same. I'd think they'd teach Princess Peach some Judo after her getting kidnapped for 30 years :P

The eShop is certainly getting more annoying.

Nintendo did want control, but they didn't consult with Sony is my point.

The 3DS had a terrible launch, agreed. Everybody is clamouring for the fat plumber just as they did for the elf boy, but yes, it will not be the saving grace. It will just have one more good game.

Didn't really mean to snap at Nintendo about the deal with Sony, eet voss mosetely ei freekin joke, dood! :)

I figure I'll be unhappy until Tales of the Abyss comes out. I think a part of me was expecting the great 3rd party support the DS had gotten. Hopefully it materializes, otherwise I will probably RAGEQUIT.

Finally, the 3DS had a poor launch line up, and a slow start, but Super Mario 3D Land is not the consoles saving grace and neither was Ocarina. Whilst there are bigger games on the horizon, there are still some great games on the system already. More so if you've been gaming for more than 20 years.Spinnerweb

Let's just hope that 2012 will be a great year for Nintendo. Considering that more anticipated 3DS titles and the Wii U will be released sometime next year, it could very well be the year where everything turns around for Nintendo. As long as they don't screw it up of course ;)

I'm glad i'm an early 3DS owner i got it early knowing the really good heavy hitting titles wouldn't come for a while. Also, i just got Super Mario 3D Land today and i'm loving it so i'm really happy i have one. :)

This. That game is awesome so far. The 3D really adds a lot to the game.

I agree, the 3D effect really goes along well in the game. It's one of the fewer 3DS games that really makes me want to have the 3D on all the time.
I'll apologise for the harshness of my message. Maybe it was too late a night for me. Sorry. But yeah, that Sony Nintendo deal fell through because of Sony's ambition to manipulate Nintendo's business, which is more greed on Sony's part.

You guys talking about the games? I would be more worried about the hardware. You just know nintendo is going to make a new 3DS with a second joystick among other things.
