Good to see the Wii now at $170. In my opinion, Wii is a great system. I prefer it over the Gamecube. (I have both) Now I can't wait to see Nintendo's next console. :D

Yay! Next gen announcement coming soon for all consoles! Wii price reduction before Nintendo next gen console announcement. Followed shortly after by Microsoft and Sony next gen announcement. It's about a year past due.

@jasongm Announcements do not mean releases. If it gets announced this year, is will not be out before 2012. The Wii was released in 2006. 6 years later is pretty much the average. The PS3 was released 6 years after the PS2 which was released 6 years after the PS1. 6 years is probably too short for the PS4, but not for the next Wii.

dream if any one went by your ill logic ps2 or 1 wouldnt be their gen consoles lol ps1 would be a snes gen by your standpoint , good day, its appearent wii is in the 7th gen its just the least powerful and that never a bad thing ,, for the consumers its cheaper so will wii 2 because itll only be slightly better then ps3 , but we dont need to worry sicne sony ms and comin with 720/ps4 til 3 yrs into wii 2s life , which means nintendo will most likely have a 20 m sell or more range by that time if not 50 m , just like wii did , since this thing supposed to be more improved version of a wiimote with tocuh screen and will work with all wii peripherals and gc games and so on this thing will sell at 250-300 just like the last 2 launches-3ds recently has already been a run away success selling 400k every month since it launched in japan and us and europe

The Wii is not consider a next gen system, but their new powerful console will probably surpass today's current gen graphics. Also don't buy Wii right now because next year Nintendo will drop the price to $99 in order to get rid of their remaining Wii's,

@noturfangirl agreed... With PS2 graphics, and a very expensive wii motion plus controller. The system is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over price. I only have one because this guy needed some gas to get home, broke up w/his girl friend and she kicked him out her house. He sold me his wii, I gave him 45 dollars. What a story!

The wii is still too much. It should be $89

people think the successor will be 500+$ but its parts all together will cost 350$ and nintendo can add 50$ to that price making profit and make it sell well

Wow a next gen system already? feels like we just got these systems not long ago. New systems should last 10 years, it feels like 5 years went to fast with these systems. I still have my PS2 plugged in!

@aryanbrar - Depends on what games you intend to get for it. The successor will apparently be out in late 2012. If you can't wait until then, then maybe you should get it now.

So a next gen system is coming. x2 more powerful than 360 and PS3. Now Sony and MS are gonna come up with next gen sooner than later.

Agreed. It certainly appears as if a Wii replacement is forthcoming. If it is to be released next year and backward-compatible as rumored, one wonders if purchasing a Wii now would be futile, price notwithstanding.
