Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes free on Xbox Live in October

Microsoft today announced that Capybara Games' role-playing game Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is the next free Xbox Live game for Gold subscribers.

The game, normally $15, will be free for subscribers October 1-15. Microsoft did not say which game will follow from October 16-31.

Clash of Heroes was originally released on Nintendo DS in 2009, before coming to Xbox 360 and other platforms.

Rainbow Six Vegas (normally $20) is currently free on Xbox Live for Gold members.

The free games are part of Microsoft's new Games With Gold program that gives Xbox Live Gold subscribers two free titles--to keep--each month until December 31.

    @Xx_DemonSoul_xX @somatzu Except if you end your PlayStation Plus membership, you lose access to the "free" games. If you end your Xbox Live Gold membership, any games you downloaded for Games With Gold are still yours to play forever.

    I have had friends who have used promos for Xbox Live long enough to get a GWG title they wanted. They let their membership lapse at the end, and still play the free games they got while they were Gold.

    @Triton I don't think anybody here would argue with a free(-ish) game.

    The problem is that Microsoft's competitor offers much newer games for free (again, basically) to subscribers of its online service.

    This game is actually really fun, I think the campaign took me about 30-35 hours to finish. But yea, already own it.

    When it comes to all the consoles and their online counter parts, I own everything from ps3 and 360 and ouya to vita and 3ds here and my favorite has always been my 360 and xbox live.

    With that said, this games for gold by Microsoft is just a piece of junk rip off of sony and their playstation plus set up. One game every 2 weeks and so far the only game that I did not already own was assassins creed and it was still a game that I completely finished already. At least Sony is giving away a choice of games that are fairly current and vary greatly in the type of game they are. It's the one department where I will take Sony setup over Microsoft's setup because this is just a poor rip off and insult to all us gold subscribers.
