Xbox + Playstation vs PC sales in UK? This isn't a great article, didn't used the digital sales numbers so I can say Diablo3 sold more worldwide than any game this month......Waiting for Max Payne 3 on the pc because Diablo 3 is to expensive here and now I think is 70 $ or something :)).

Its always niggled me the strange relation between Rockstar games and gamespot. Anyone care to add to or dispell this myth?

So the 'purchased direct from Blizzard' sales didn't get included? That's probably most of the Diablo's sales right there (since they had the pre-orders up months ago), whereas Max Payne will be pretty much 100% of their sales as hard copy. I know you said 'technically' but it does seem to be another Gamespot misleading tagline used to draw in those sheep that lap up what is said without questioning. Come on, you're better than that, it's why I read this site.

Max Payne 3 (360 and PS3) outsold Diablo 3 (PC) at retail (physical copies only) by 8000 copies.

That's not including any digital copies, which has been shown to sell around the same if not more than physical copies of PC games.

I got it through Blizzard's online store, so I'm not even included in that chart.

Let's not forget how much more profit a sale of a PC game makes developers then a sale of a console game. That's not even bringing digital copies, which increases the profit margin even greater.

Heard great things about Max Payne 3, but will wait to get it on PC I think. :)

Well since Rockstar's been the pioneers at refining their games, i'd say its no big surprise, despite the hype of Diablo 3.

Both games are being compared with their similar release for this month. We have a franchise that revolutionized the third person shooter with bullet time, and a franchise that put medieval fantasy hack and slash on the gaming map. These are big feats indeed. I don't like how they're being compared in terms on which is straight on better, but im ok with financials.

And the title saying it's the UK chart... who knows; it could be different in the States.

Well deserved, MP3 is another masterpiece from Rockstar.

I wonder what we will see when they compare the digital downloads between diablo 3 and max payne 3......?

I've got Payne running as I type and I have to say I'm very disappointed with it.

they should put diablo 3 on ps3 and xbox. i will buy it straight away..

Um, Diablo III is for PC an Mac where Max Payne 3 is on PC, XBOX360 and PS3... so yes, Max3 selling 10 times more makes perfect sence. Max3 also has more mass appeal I would say. I also supose D3's launch issues didn't help:) I didn't bother with either personally, so...

Terrible comparison, Diablo 3 is for PC only at the moment. If it hits the consoles then they can be compared (MP3 will be on the PC by then).

Max Payne 3 > Diablo 3

I'll take a platform of mainly digital download loosing by only 8000 units in a physical copy dominated market by the consoles as a showing of how popular PC gaming still is. Anyone saying PC vs consoles isn't fair is a complete clown. Do you guys honestly think that PC gaming does not include every single PC?...

This article is extremely stupid and misleading.

It's PHYSICAL sales only. A two platform console game is compared to a PC only game in physical copies sold, that's beyond ridiculous. Especially since it's a Blizzard game, a huge amount of sales are digitally through their own battle.net

Lol. Any surprised about this should have seen this coming. They are both games that were really hyped and one was an exclusive while the other was a multiplat.

Ridiculous comparison. All it shows is that PC in the console ruled UK is non existant.

Consles beaten blizzaed game and befor ask that some pc games on its own doent do well on its own like some xbox360 and ps3 games dont do much. depends on the game . Max Pynce 3 sold more it did than 2nd game and since remdy not involed mucj that take two make the game better than it did. Look like GTA5 might be on hold until next year. i belive it will happen.
