@JustinGoSka: Something like being a traitor is subjective. He became a traitor the moment he left UNSC and stopped responding to their orders. Biko incident has already been dealt with. It has nothing to do with him awakening Guardians and sacrificing entire cities.

She likely found a way to transfer herself through the stream that Composer fired to digitally convert humans to use as slave AIs for the promethean army he was assembling. She'll forge her own body and if true will be reveal during Halo 5 or the end of it and then be the focus in the sixth game.

@Richardthe3rd: As far as super soldier space marines go, MC's not real high on the power list. Though Halo's more realistic brand of comic book science (compared to something like Destiny or Warhammer 40k) has a certain appeal that space magic doesn't.

@Marky360: it is the new ui. I got it today too. There's a known issue when installing that it will get stuck sometimes. i had to unplug my kinect and external hdd and retry the installation a couple times. got it on the 3rd try. System Update Hangs: A huge thank you to the community over the past 24hours as we encountered a system update error when the system upgrade hangs at 80%. Engineering has determined the problem from your experiences and a fix is underway. In the interim any user that encounters the system update hanging at 60-80% please do the following: Pull physical power (yes, I really mean pull the cable). Once the console is powered back on, it will appear to complete an update, then land on a System Update available screen. Attempt to take the update again, if it hangs a hard reboot may be required again and try again. We have seen that 3 reboots can complete. NOTE if you encounter an update error screen while downloading a system update and the console freezes, please wait 3 minutes before rebooting the console to ensure crash data is captured. Crash data is submitted automatically; no action required on your part.

@camou504: Yeah, there's really nothing to like or dislike. He's just kind of a suite of armor that occasionally says something to facilitate another character's explanation of the situation. There's no personality or flaws to actually make him a character.

I guess there's more to MC in the books, but that doesn't really help the games.

@camou504: Yeah, but the fact he talks little is just a part of his personality (not just because Bungie wanted to immerse players in his shoes). He's reserved, as he's known to be just a guy trying to get the job done no matter what, but he has history. I think he's a really cool character, due to his actions and his stoicism, but with Halo 4, and now Halo 5 as they did in the books, they're delving deeper into his humanity, or perhaps lack of it. I didn't love him as a character from the get-go, as they just didn't have much going for him, but over time, he turned out to be one of my favorites along others. I guess it just takes understanding, and of course interest to see why he's beloved.

@camou504: Which can be it's own nice characterization as the "Silent Badass", but you need to build a world around them that shows that. And usually, the world needs to NEED a silent badass.

I think Halos 1 and 2 did that well, showing how they needed this super soldier with his nose to the grindstone. I feel he's definitely losing some relevance though, even in his own series. After all, the point was "Everyone's dying to these horrible world-ending things, if only there were someone who could focus on what's important and fight back and was a SUPER AMAZING SOLDIER capable of all that."

Now it's like..."Hey, there's some bad stuff. But it's not like, universe-threatening like it was before. And well, we could prooobably just let the military handle it. In fact, Chief seems pretty superfluous."

Despite how they're pitching it, I think the introduction of Locke and all of this "Is he REALLY a hero?" b/s is the wrong direction to take it...and the fact that people stop seeing him as the unwavering hero, completely undermines what characterization of his they HAD established.

...In my personal opinion.

@nparks: Not really. It has even less cohesion than TWD did at first but things are starting to get interesting.
