Killzone 2 wins first gaming Ivor Novello

@Stabby the saddest thing is that I have a ps3 too and it just never getts into my mind that anybody has to hate "the other" console ,bouth are great, it doesen't mather wich one you choose, "if you only choose one you will be missing a lot of great games" I thought that this kind of fight ended after the nintendo vs sega era but affter some year this fight is now back with the ps3 vs 360 and it's still as useless as it was back then

Killzone 2 had one of my favorite soundtracks of the last year. I also loved Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Halo 3: ODST. Each had a unique score to it. I will say this though: It's nice to see an awards ceremony like this recognizing gaming instead of belittling it. Such as filmmakers often saying how games will never reach their level and so on. It's nice to see music composers looking at scores and saying "Wow, this is complicated to make and sounds great on it's own" instead of "Whatever, it's no movie music".

Great job for Guerrilla Games and the Killzone 2 Development Team.

@MetallicFPSNut there is another comment that I put saying that killzone 2 deserves this price I only said that it's sad that the price to games comes so late because halo has deserved one of this

@SalarianChemist Personally, I love when SalarianChemist makes a post. He attracts by far the most thumbs down remarks that I've ever seen, and it's awesome. If I knew people hated me this bad on a website, I'd stay too.. trollin' can be fun from time to time. I do have to say though, since when did anyone give a damn about Killzone 2's musical score?

@SalarianChemist if gamespot ever makes a competition about who is the most thumbed down member is , slarian chemist would sure win with honor, in every news article you speak and you get thumbed down , i would stop using gamespot if were you ,or actually i would even stop commenting on the internet.

@bardos-the-3rd Would you expect anything else in a good-news-for-PlayStation story? Now, I'm not going to say anything for or against Halo 3's soundtrack, cause I've never heard it, but as for Killzone 2, it was a fantastic soundtrack and definitely deserves the reward.

I loved the KZ2 score, i dont know bout you guys, but i thought it was one of the best i'd heard in a while. KZ2 is up there, with Kingdom hearts and Final Fantasy scores.

@bardos-the-3rd You're getting marked down because people reading this are PS3 owners and thus irrationally hate on anything Halo related. Having said this I'll still get marked down even though I don't like Halo either.

Thinking about it, the music was epic but not amazing.

I'm happy for Killzone getting some more merit in something, I really do. But even for how orquestral was the soundtrack , it wasn't that epic and it was kinda forgettable.

I think people are thumbing down each other comment because it sounds like fanboy wars, comparing halo 3 to killzone 2, but I think both games have excellent soundtracks.

The gaming world continues to expand, here is more proof. KZ2 has a great soundtrack, good for them.

ok i actaully like this game but the campain was just ok though the mulitplayer was addicting as hell. for the people who keep saying this game need co op to be great need to **** off. as of right now im just convice that most people say this game is overrated even though it didnt sell that well are just saying since it apost to be one of sony big name games that has to compete against halo for some odd reason.

why are you tumbing me down because I say that halo deserves one? I'm not saying that killzone 2 never deserves it(because it does deserve the price ,it is the best ost of the year) it's just that halo has one of the best ost of all times and it's a shames that it will never get such a price

Your own personal ignorance of them does not make them "awful" or have "absolutly [sic] no credibility". Your fervent and irrational dislike for all things PS3 is clouding any logic that you might possess. Besides, this is about recognising the excellent score that was created for the game and not a thing to do with the game mechanics or lack thereof. Sillyness.

the first game i played on my PS3.... I never really liked FPSs till i played this game i mean everything in it felt so.....real. i swear i even smells the things going on sometimes >.

@Evo8u I'm with you on this one, apart from the graphics (and music apparently) KZ2 is a generic shooter with a cliched weak story. I bought this game on platinum and I've already sold it without completing it, four hours of my life wasted.

Why is everyone comparing this to Halo? Im not going to give my opinion about Halo, however, they have very little in common. KZ2 beats Halo by miles in terms of graphics, while both games has an excellent soundtrack. In terms of gameplay, they are very different from one another. Halo is very straight forward with run and gun gameplay. Where as KZ2 has a more tactic approach. They just can't be compared!

KZ2 gets so much undeserved hate (mainly from people who never played it) so it's good to see it get some recognition.

I have to agree with this one, Killzone 2 had an excellent soundtrack.

@blackcloud K2 is seriously overrated just like a lot of games out there for 360 and Ps3. I don't understand why people make such a big deal over games that are not close to what was expected. The first Halo was way more ground breaking than K1 or K2 was when it came out, as for Halo 2 and 3 well OVERRATED just like K2!!!

this game was horrible! my friends and i tried to get into it but it was sooo bad, i have no idea why it gets so much praise. i loved killzone 1 too, one of my first multiplayer shooter experiences, why do people say it is so great?

Really? I thought the music was pretty generic. I'm still not convinced the game itself was worthy of all the praise it got. Sure its fun...but people saying its a Halo killer? I hate Halo yet I still disagree.

KZ2 had a nice, star wars like, soundtrack. Though I'd still say that MGS4's soundtrack is better. Now can we please get a KZ3?

HAHA, it really is a Halo killer! Halo tried so hard to get good epic classical music in it, and THIS beat it!!!! HAHAHA LOL!
