GoldenEye remake coming to the Wii in 2010?

Wow, this is an awesome for Wii gamers. I remember wanting this last generation. Hope we get something similar on Live arcade later down the road.

Wow lol i remember playing this as a kid, Always played multiplayer at my friends house ! wow i was so young, i remember getting pissed whenever he would find the golden gun, not fair cuz he knew the map lmao. Oh and note that this was the first game that ever let you shoot through doors/materials and get kills... NOT cod: modern warfare lol. Just a little fact there.

@SIMIFU i played nothing but wii for 2 years before buying a ps3, and I always bragged about how good the fps controls were on wii. Trust me, any fps would be better on ps3/360

oh come on, if they are going to do this, why not put it on ps3 and 360 so it would actually be good? I mean, i'll buy it on wii, but I'd love to see it with real next gen graphics and good online play.

GOLDENEYE WITH ONLINE MULTIPLAYER PLEASE

They actually have a Half-life 2 mod called "Goldeneye Source." It is a remake of Goldeneye as a source mod (obviously). I messed around with it a couple times and it was spot-on identical gameplay to Goldeneye. The characters, weapons, music, levels, even end-of-match awards were exactly like Goldeneye! Anyone with HL2 or CSS should definitely check it out. While the community was pretty scarce when I played it, its a free mod, so why not?!

Why don't they just release the original on VC and an updated one on the 360?

The two best shooters in that era were Perfect Dark and GoldenEye. I think it's very cool that we are getting a remix of GoldenEye for the Wii and also a remix of Perfect Dark on Xbox Live Arcade. The remix of Perfect Dark on Xbox Live Arcade is going to have true 5.1 sound along with true 1080p graphics, and it will cost only $15. Let's hope the developers of GoldenEye on the Wii will keep the price low -- I think anything higher than $20 is too much. Anything higher than that should be put on Xbox Live Arcade because it would have better graphics, better sound, and better online play all at a lower price.

So, you complain that the Wii is no good because it has no good games, but when the prospect of a good game appears in favour of the Wii, you get angry. That doesn't make much sense to me.

Please, please, please don't ruin this classic. Anyways, it will be interesting to see how this game turns out. I hope they take a Punch-Out!! approach and stay pretty true to the original formula and not try to add any new gimmicks.

are you crazy- leave well enough alone huh well did jeff gordon leave his car well enough alone to win absolutely not , goldeneye was great , back in 1997 , ,i liked it to much , but when i came upon this detstar fan site that found out everything they scraped out of it made me feel foolish it could be better , it could have been more detailed and more better overall it would have had more realistic bathroom it would have had 2 extra levels in sp which would feature mayday and oddjob , why i know this is because they have him in multiplayer and in the cast when you beat the game they show him but he was never in the actual final game

it'd be cool if they could put the original on Live or PSN or even virtual console... i mean with HD graphics and something else bonus i'd be sold...

MY opinion is.... I played this game like crack in college coz it was original and nothing was around like it at the time. Of course it has it's nostalgic qualities, but I'm tired of remakes. If anything put it on Xbox arcade and let it be. It was legendary in its time and will always be remembered as one of my favorites, just like the original Ghostbusters movie. So leave it alone and DONT SCREW IT UP FOR ME like they did the new Perfect Dark that came out for 360. What a travesty. Plus why would you even consider just putting it on the WII? The only thing WII is good for is drunken WII fit games and WII tennis. Oh and all the Mario and Link fanboys feel free to flame me.

If they go trough the trouble of making a GodenEye remake, but don't bring Full HD is going to be a big fail. They couldn't have chosen a worse platform.

I think going to be a bad sequal. As cool as it sounds, (Goldeneye being my favorite game of all time) I think they should just leave it alone. Ever hear the saying "Leave well enough alone"? It's fine just the way it is, a classic game that EVERYONE should play.

They should just remake it like perfect dark but release it on all consoles. I mean i understand releasing it on a Nintendo console pays tribute to N64 but look at the sales performance of everything on the Wii rated T or M and involves so much as shooting lazers. THis is a James Bond game but because it has guns, i dont think the Wii audience will take to it like they should. But the Ps3 360 audience will flock to it. I would.

meh, the original Perfect Dark is coming Xbox live arcade, thats all i need. GoldenEye was awesome, but i always thought Perfect Dark surpassed it in every way

They couldn't port it to the XBLA and/or Wiiware because of licensing issues and yet they were allowed to do a remake?

I don't own a wii, but if it is a full blown remake. It would be awesome! But it would be better on PS3 or 360 or both

I doubt the licencing issues would let it be a full-blown remake, otherwise we'd have seen Goldeneye on XBLA/PSN/VC by now. More likely it'll just use the name, like that horribly crappy Rogue Agent did (what's the point of playing as a Bond villain if you're just shooting other bad guys/not shooting good guys, and if you kill Bond in the first minute? Talk about a concept fail).

O lord, when they arent remaking games that just came out RE 4 for the 100th time or twilight princess; they go back a generation. Honestly Golden Eye was great, but i dont think this remake can catch the same gold that the original did. Shadows the empire remake, now that i might approve of.
