EA's subscription service offers dozens of free games.

[Updated August 17 with more Origin Access games]

Electronic Arts' Xbox One subscription service, EA Access, launched in August 2014 with four free games, including FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2, and Battlefield 4. Since then, EA has added dozens more and launched a version of the service on PC called Origin Access.

We've now rounded up all the freebies into lists, which you can see below. We will update this post in the days, weeks, and years ahead when more games are added. EA has vowed never to remove any games from the "Vault" of freebies. "I think one of the key things is that once a game goes into the Vault it stays there, it's not going to be taken out, that's a commitment we've made," Peter Moore said.

No version of EA Access is available on PlayStation 4. According to Sony, the service does not offer the kind of value PlayStation fans have come to expect. That being said, Sony maintains that it is open to having a dialogue with EA about how it might be able to bring EA Access to PS4 someday.

In addition to free games, EA/Origin Access members can play some games (but not all) ahead of launch; most of the time, subscribers get a five-day headstart. Another benefit is that subscribers save 10 percent on all EA digital content, which knocks down the price of a $60 game to $54.

The service costs $5/month or $30/year.

The Origin Access list is vastly better than the dudebro galore EA Access list. But still not worth it for me considering I own all the games I'm even remotely interested in.

But EA Access... jesus christ, especially considering you also have to pay for online. I mean why even have some of the games, who would play FIFA 14 if they have 16 available? Are those old sportstitles even supported online still or have any players?

@kadaverhagga: well, if they took it away, people would freak. Lol. But really, maybe your favorite player got traded away or retired and aren't there in the next game, or you are playing through a career for accolades or trying to make the hall of fame...

@iammcgruber: Yeah you are probably right, playing a three year old football game on a gaming console is way to manly for me... I mean that's... that's the measurment of manlyhood I strive to reach one day... *facepalm*

@iammcgruber: About half the titles are dudebro titles, alot of wich are the yearly milked franchises. And that's not counting car games.

@rickjamesia: If you are refering to my sarcastic reply it was my answer to "idiocy" as you put it (though he has now deleted the comment that reply was refering to). He was trying to belittle me because I didn't find value in old dudebro games. As if those old dudebro games was some sort of measurement of manlyness that should be sought after. And considering your own description of yourelf not liking, in this case sports games, you are according to him also less of a man.

Anything else I said is valid. If you got triggered by the word "dudebro": yearly/near yearly massmarket franchises are known as dudebro titles (not only sports games, COD is also an example of a dudebro game). They often focus on instant gratification and competetive play, no higher level of intellectual investment, no real story, rarely unique or innovative and very little deviation from the previous titles, sometimes beeing more like expansions than new games. These titles often appeal to white 15-25yo suburban males from where it get's it's name. It's just a term, take it however you like.

But talking about sports games, even for most sports fanatic gamers out there a three year old yearly sports franchise that is most likely not supported online is just filler for the list and inflated perception of value. Unlike say f ex Dead Space they do not have their own story/campaign or anything else that might warrant a playthrough for most people. Hell I'd argue that even the 2016 titles loose alot of the appeal if 2017 version is out.

So what I'm arguing here is that it's not "I don't like sportstitles therefore almost half the list is trash because they are sportstitles". I'm saying even for the target demographic of those games most of those titles are uninteresting to most of them. These titles (not only sports games but dudebro games in general) are usually very popular initially and drop off drastically over time until they die completely and the cycle starts again. And that's a fact that can be seen by the player base stats. Once that (along with the outdated roosters etc for sports games) is gone, the main draw of the game is gone with it regardless if you are into the genre or not.

More games stand on their own and have better replay value or (for new gamers) actual play value on the Origin Access list than EA Access list.

@Flames03: Wow, lol you are late to the party by like a month. ;)
Anyway, of course they work online, but there are no playerbase to play against/with. I don't have it because it is useless to me, doesn't mean I haven't tried it.
