Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

User Rating: 10 | Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus NS

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus published by Bethesda a sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order was originally released on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Even though I could have purchased and download Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on the Playstation 4, I decided to wait for the Nintendo Switch release to support more third party games like from Bethesda to continue to bring great games to the Nintendo Switch. Panic Button did a great job porting the game to the Nintendo Switch just like they ported Doom to the Nintendo Switch.

This was the first Wolfenstein game I ever played and never knew there were previous releases besides Wolfenstein: The New Order. Since I never played through the first Wolfenstein, this game gave a little summary at the introduction of this game. I was very impressed with the port on Nintendo Switch even though it was not exactly as nice as the Playstation 4 version but that did not affect the overall gameplay of the game. The gameplay of the game was like other first person shooters like Call of Duty but with great story and really connects with history like seeing the KKK clan and Nazis working together was great.

The gameplay was very interesting because not only you get to hold multiple guns you get to have dual gun system where you can hold two guns at the same time. With the two guns in your hand, you can have a variety of combinations like the shotgun and assault rifle or shotgun and another with the scope which you have to upgrade to get a scope on the gun. Even though you had the ability to hold two guns, I stuck with holding one gun because I gotten used that kind of first person shooter style. The game did not offer many guns but it did offer upgrades to the guns such as having a scope attach to an assault rifle to improve your aiming. On the Nintendo Switch, I decided to play the game with the gyroscope feature so that I could aim a little better after aiming with the right analog. After using this feature for so long, I gotten used to it and would like many first person shooter games that come in the future for the Nintendo Switch to have that feature available.

The story was what made the game great and having the cut scenes being played on undocked mode was great which felt like it was more like a movie. I want many games to look like this one to look like you were watching a long length movie on TV. Sometimes I would put my headphones to hear more clearly the explosions and voice acting.

In the end, this game was great. I would like to say that everyone should give this version a chance when it goes on sale on the EShop. You know what I mean when you play this game.
