Innovation at its best.
User Rating: 9.1 | Wario Ware, Inc: Minigame Mania GBA
If I ever needed to kill a few minutes, WarioWare was my game of choice. You can pick it up and within two minutes have played 20 microgames. Truly remarkable. The bad thing is though, it IS very short. You'll have beaten the whole "Story" mode within the same week that you bought the game. The game has some very interesting and very odd microgames, but its all fun. There are lots of microgames so don't expect it to just repeat all of them each time you play. In fact, it takes quite a while to unlock all of the Grid games. And even longer to unlock all the extras you can get (I liked being able to play Dr. Mario and the Fly Swatter game from Mario Paint, old school, yo). Wacky sounds and hip music give WarioWare an appeal like no other game. The solid and smoothly played soundtrack is fitting for each "Character" and the voices, while odd, give the game a lively feel to it. Its not a very difficult game. You might be unable to beat a certain microgame at first but none of them are impossible. The same can be said for the game's "Bosses". Each "character" has an opening cinematic that shows the GBA really can do something. Smoothly flowing, although cartoony in style, they add to the craziness of this game. In fact, I think Nintendo literally decided to just go crazy when making this game. Can't say I'm displeased. Possibly the coolest part of the microgames is that you aren't told how they work, you have to figure that out yourself, thats why they seem easy once you figure out the buttons. This is definitely a game worth owning, because its just great for killing time and having fun.
