WoW was good, no denying it. But the Capital Cities are full of hackers and spammers. I thouhgt WoW was f$%@ing awesome until they hacked me. From then on, i've been really pissed with the hackers. Evrybody i've talked to (ofa high lvl) has said they've been hacked. I'm not paying $20.00 a monthjust to be hackedeverytime i log on.
You do realise that you dont have to buy the retail to play, download the trial, for free, and with no deadline...the trial is never-ending. That's what i did anyway.
i think it needs really high requirments . . . . .i dont wanna buy a game and at the end it laggs like hell :S. . . . .and wnnhy ppl love wow coz it doenst need high reiuremnts to play!!! but dunno im thinking AION not warhammer
when are they gonna make a sweet single player warhammer game that follows the path of A character god of war style instead of an RTS, i wanna slay some orcs and ratmen upclose dammit, the stories are there, whats goin on???
Great news, Phil. =D They are! Vigil Games has it listed on thier website, but I think it's a long way in the future. Not, like, 40000 years long, but a while. Waaagh.
snakept69 havent played the game and writing bout it. lol Your friends comments are he's personal opinions not yours. What you are saying is pure hearsay. How lame can you get snakept69. lol
"Sorry but this review had to be paid off.. This game is like Guild wars except you need to pay. It honestly is not as good as they are trying to make it sound, it doesn't suck but it is not good it is just another MMO that tried to take the MMO throne and failed. It's average at best, not good." Have you played the game? You know seeing a game and playing are completely diferent things. Same for those who say it rocks. I haven't played the game but i know someone who does. He says it still needs some patches but its good. And from what I see it looks cool. If its really great or not i cannot say. I do say i think it looks great. Play before shouting stuff.
I've spent a lot of time reading the reviews of this game. It's interesting that every bad review has at least 50% more thumb-downs (ex. 30 Up, 60+ down), than every positive has thumb-downs. Either people enjoy pressing thumbs-down, or someone is paid to "fix" the numbers.
This game is great. Makes you feel like theres actually a conflict going on (unlike WoW). Very entertaining, and PQs are fricken amazing. Anyone who says these guys were paid off, are ignorant since they themselves havn't even played WAR, plus why would EA pay them off, when they're counting the money from there one million preorders.

It seems that everyone that doesn't like this game thinking that game companies pay reviewers off. The only problem is when a game is horrible it's horrible and people find out and have something to say about it. Personally I enjoy this game just like I enjoyed WoW they're both excellent MMOs and competetion is always good for both companies
like OK I UNDERSTAND BROTHERS IN ARMS EXISTS use ideas already fleshed out (games workshop) + average graphics + pay2play winning formula (wow) = attempt at draining armchair hermit's bank accounts world of warhammer
I am really enjoying this game, its far better than WOW as far as I am concerned and its much different. If you arent into PVP you probably shouldnt apply, but it is the most fun I have had with an MMO for awhile. I have been playing since release on the American Open RVR/RP server and I play a tank. I dont know what gamespot are talking about but so far I havent seen any taunt abilities that actually force the opposition to target you. They do however cause debuffs and things like that. And for the record Everquest 2, was the first MMORPG to have that sort of mechanic in thier pvp, "as far as I know" (shows how much gamespot bothered to play that games expantions, which vastly improved it)
Cool heads-up there guys - cheers. Been playing it since late beta and just looove it... Finally kicked the WoW monkey off my shoulder ;o) Runs on full specs on my machine and I can recommend (if you have the hardware for it) turning on some anisotropic filtering and AA - at least if you run Nvidia drivers. Makes it look even more smooth :) Got mine cranked up to the max in the nvidia driver.
I'm gonna give this game a try. I've played a dozen mmorpgs over the last decade and I enjoyed DAOC, the first mmorpg from this company. It was a great followup when Everquest got boring. In the Last MMORPG I played, Age of Conan, you were dead in 2 hits basically regardless of level or class. Oh and people could track you on a radar and gank the hell out of you. Strong guilds would go to the ONE single high level zone and kill everyone at the entrances and the spawns. I expect that in WAR, PVP will be more drawn out and overall fun. I'm finishing up college and know a few people that still play WoW, and they are just the Nerd's nerd. Living on pot noodles and candy, screaming into their microphones and barely socializing outside the game. Still, whatever makes yall happy. I'd probably already be playing WAR....buuuuuut the pirates bay had a five finger discount sale on pc titles like: Mercenaries 2, Crysis Warhead, Spore, Stalker Clear Sky, Rainbow Six Vegas 2.... Besides, I'm still working through the heartbreak that AOC left me with.
Also the cool thing is that some people dont like it because they arent into pvp but it also has public quest. I was very excited about WAR's pvp over public quest and know that ive gotten to play i like pq's better
Zkillznone, people say WoW was Based off of warhammer because Warcraft itself was based off of the Warhammer universe. Not that WoW is based off of WAR, which is of course, impossible. People say it because all of the 12 year olds who only have played WoW think that it copied orcs etc from Blizzard when really the Warhammer universe was around for like a decade and a half before Warcraft was even thought of.
Looks like alright game, they made a huge mistake of not forcing people to take trips to major cities and chat log to create more of a community, that's what made WOW of what it is and probably why 5/10 stay with the game for reasons connected to that. And a few other things won't bother mentioning won't be any competition to WOW realistically it will have a base of 1.5-2 million subscribers to WOW 7.5-10 million and am throwing out a guess that WOW2 is around the corner to pretty much upgrade everything between 2011-2014 they pretty much have too to stay on top.
I call BS. One guy says he got 12FPS in Age of Conan, but WAR runs like butter on maxed settings? C'mon-- I got 25-30FPS in Age of Conan, but can't run Warhammer on maxed settings without stuttering every 1-2 seconds.
mr solo, i guess you a right, i probably shouldnt bash the game until i try it, which i will forsure, i guess it was just mad cause WoW kinda consumed my life for like 5 years, and when i see something similar it just reminds me of all the wasted time. and when i said dull, i meant as it ive seen it all before, and its nothing new to me.
i get a feeling they will give WAR a pretty nice score, it seems those guys are pretty excited with the game... and thanks god somebody explained to some idiots how the Tome works... To WoW fanboys 2 words for you Meaningfull PvP
PvP games faces a big issue, Balance, like for example, WoW fails in PvP, PvP balance in WoW is a jock, so I hope that its better here. Also graphics, as I see it, its much better than WoW.
on the forums here tehre was some comparison montage from wow characters and war charachters, and while it indeed proved that war looks technicaly more advanced as wow... it only really showed HOW SIMILIAR both games are in its core character design... and if you think about, OF COURSE they made it like wow, because its popular... so take the look and the overall mechanics from WOW and some polished core-game-design from LOTRO (Book of Deeds, quest-tray) and hey, if they put a lot of original warhammer feeling on top of that... great ... well, hopefully they do... its good for WAR that AoC crashed that bad, so Mythic wil be extra carefull with what they doing.. but chances are always there, that WaR, will maybe just an ambitious "copy" of the WoW concept, wich would be said, because WoW is a clearly totally taken and streamlined from the Warhammer-Universe, wich would in turn not be there, if LOTR would have never been written... I like LOTR-Online the most, but because its the best RPG from all above mentioned... greetz
Skillznone, did you even try the game? I used to be of a similar opinion towards this game, simply because it "looked like" WoW. There are similarities of course, but there are similarities between EQ and WoW too. Heck even UO and EQ had similarities. But there are some pretty big differences too, the PvP aspect being one of them. You're calling it dull? I'm calling it bloody awesome. This weekend I participated in the defence of a T2 keep, and it was literally the most awesome thing I've ever done in a game. My guild decided to take a keep and we ended up having around 35-40 people before we took the Keep Lord down. Not long after, Destruction started showing up to see what we were doing... and they kept coming. A few Order not from my guild joined in as well, and after a little while, we were having a battle between 50ish Order defending and I'm guessing 70-80 destruction attacking. It's hard to say, but they literally had us surrounded. This battle went on for at least 4-5 hours, before Destro finally gave up. This game is based on that kind of play. The game encourages open RvR combat, it thrives on it. It's a shame the guys making this video didn't get some footage of a good ORvR battle, since it's awe-inspiring and awesome in every single way I can think of. Oh yea, and Siege Engines... need I say more? Now they just need to fix some of the bugs and implement some of the missing features, but that comes with all new MMO's I guess :(
I totally agree with count, its not about who took what of the other, but what they did with it. Great ideas and great improvements can be made this way, its not because a feature that was poorly used in a game that no one should be able to take it and use it properly. The AH in WoW is a good example of that and PQ in War too. Its a good things that game developpers learn from each other, since that can only tend to improve games for us. Higher quality standarts can only mean higher quality games. We should not be expecting less from them in these games (since we're paying a montly fee too hehe...). Its not about stealing its about improving features. Mindlessly cloning features will just lead to miserable games...just like AoC...
I think in the end, what MMO isnt copying something from another. Every game has something that made it successful and its only natural that people are gonna take what ever that is, change it a little and then call it their own "improved" or "enhanced" system of doing those things. i noticed many things copied from WoW and copied from LOTRO, so dont be surprised if a game is "just like WoW"
Ive been playing since July and must say yes there are bugs but the game is just plan fun. The PQ's are a nice addition. RvR is just great last night had 1-2 hour keep battle and with i would say a good 100 people on screen since we had 2 full warbands the game was smooth and ran fine. I love the story line of some of the quest keeps you into it imo. Over all ive had a few disconnections here and there but only 2 times since Friday since thats when i started playing and a few alt tab black screens when i get disconnect from vent and have to relog in. Over all i recommend this game
