Jess, someone may have already said this, but bravely default seems more like an adverb verb pairing (to default in a brave manner) and kind of an interesting one, as default seems often to be associated with failure-often associated with negative consequences to one's self(to default on a loan), therefore to do so bravely seems to be unique situation.

The name Divine Divinity is a joke. Not that it's so bad that it's a joke. It is actually a joke. It's the weird sense of humour of the people in Larian. There is actually a recipe ingame that is called Divine Divinity and the writer comments on the ridiculousness of the name.

Yup, from the first time I heard it, I definitely thought "Bravely Default" was about the stupidest title ever.

I think that Bravery Default and Resident Evil are cool names. They certainly stick to my brain alright.

Default is also a verb. Perhaps the game is about being unable to pay a bank loan.

How about "Lost: The Video Game". Oh, bollocks, I lost the game...

I think Resident Evil makes sense, you're taking on the main evil that is resident in the world, or if you're more romantic, it could refer to the evil that resides in all of us that we have to fight to be brave and selfless, like the protagonists.

Default is also a verb, you can default on an agreement, it can mean to rebel against. So Bravely Default actually makes quite a bit of sense. I really liked the title when I saw it initially.
