Fifa 2k?!

Makes you wonder what 2K would be able to due with an NFL licensed game. Time to petition the NFL not to resign an exclusive agreement with EA again. I haven't bought a Madden game in years even when the NFL is my favorite professional sports league, but if 2K could make an NFL game that looks to be as impressive as NBA 2K respectively, I would definitely buy in.

EA made an atrocious game with this NBA Live next gen edition. Now I did like their baseball games a few years back but they really need to step their basketball game up because they're middle school level compared to 2Ks NBA level of basketball.

What a trash game by EA. Three years of absence for this? Kyrie Irving must've been ashamed to be the cover of this game. Good thing 2K Sports keeps on improving despite having an underachieving "competition".

Silly Gamespot, why do you compare a PS2 game to a PS4 game? Wait what?! This is on the same gen of hardware how is that even poss....oh it's EA.

They didn't have the pressure of a year to year release (like NBA 2K) and this is the best they could do for next-gen? NBA Live 14 is no different than the last iteration of NBA Live that was previously released some years ago. It really makes you wonder what exactly has EA Sports been doing all these years with this franchise when they weren't releasing any games?? No one in their right mind should spend money on this.

I remember back in the old NBA Live games where it felt like you were playing on ice...Live has always been garbage, 2k surpassed it a long time ago and never looked back

I wish the 2k team made a football game again. NFL 2k5 is my favorite football game of all time. You see what visual concepts did with basketball, imagine what they could do with a next gen football....DAM YOU EA!

We need 989 Studios to come back and give 2K some competition. Their NFL Gameday football games were pretty good I thought. Heck even NBA Drive on the Xbox was better than what EA is putting out there. They had three years to get it right and this is what they bring to the table? Time to hand it over to a developer that can bring something new to the table.

The return of NBA Live shows us one big thing that gamers needed to realize. That is...just how far ahead the team at Visual Concepts is when it comes to sports programming. People who have been playing 2K are absolutely spoiled in what the team provides, and they are an extremely demanding crowd that gets let down if virtual Lebron doesn't smirk in the exact scenarios of real life Lebron. Visual Concepts continues to raise the bar every single year into making a game that replicates the real thing.

Interestingly, EA Sports gamers tend to be the lenient bunch. They get excited over aggressive marketing schemes that never pan out into full potential. I mean, NBA Live has been "providing a base for excellence" for over 7 years. For 7 years I hear Live fans claim that the 2K throne will be surpassed, and that the groundwork has been laid. Pfftt...yeah...maybe...if 2K didn't do shit for the next 5 years on their own game, that might happen.

Lastly, I created this fake Madden developer video that people actually got excited for in EA forums. They thought this was real and that it "sounded good" and a "step in the right direction". They ignored the purposeful errors I put into it.

NBA Live 14 looks and plays like Fried Booty Meat from KFC. Straight Up.

Wow, just look at that. On one side you have a realistic looking, exciting game that looks to have excellent AI and a meticulous attention to detail, then you have EA's effort which is just boring and looks like they couldn't really care.

Willing to bet the game modes are completely worlds apart too.

EA's motto; Put as little effort into the development of games as possible to maximize profits.

I always liked the NFL and NBA 2k games. The EA games felt stale by the late 90's and then Dreamcast came and The 2K games were f'ing amazing. hopefully a day will come when EA doesnt have its hands in everything and great games can be made again.

This is just depressing, so sad for Live thought they'd be making a strong comeback..

How can a game that is only available on the next gen consoles look so freaking terrible??? NBA Live looks like an early PS3 or Xbox 360 game...and even on the old consoles NBA 2K still looks great.
