Command & Conquer Franchise Retrospective

I started playing the C&C series with Red Alert. i loved it and I thought it was the best. Right now the only ones I havent played are Renegade and the first one.

It's hard to believe its been 15 years since I first played the original C&C on my Sega Saturn, I've been hooked ever since. Its kinda funny how I can remember certain periods in my life just by thinking of which C&C game I was playing at the time. C&C is and always will be my favorite franchise of all time. The only disappointment I have is that Westwood Studios is no longer a part of the game. EA will never be able to re-create the nostalgia and originality of the first games, no matter how much money they throw at it.

man this is the best c&c tribute vids ever......love all of em...even "not so good ra3"........aaa..remembering the back the old good days........yeah..n i hope Generals got its no2 on the list..... A great Franchise like C&C needs more of great graphic and awesome AI+gameplays...tat will make em the best....but not in Ra3.... -Kubilius- Why don't you people start thinking from the very concept of the game, not from how it will look ? -the concept are almost the same as all RTS games...but the gameplay are making them the best.....so the game need to change depends on the storyline how u play the game depend on the your skill+gAI+gTech+building tree involve....but not like Ra3......n i dint know y they make Ra3 as weird as that.... -man nowdays almost all gamers have the best 3dcard to play the game they love but if the game have a poor graphic its just not stable between awesome gameplay....so is just making more entertaining then bcoz looks are now part of modern game exclusive...not like the old days.....

ra3 was a big flop imo. i liked it but i still found myself going straight back to cnc3=P generals and zero hour are totally amazing even now! altho, for whatever reason, neither want to work on my computer anymore...still not worked that one out tbh:( i agree with boogie_pop...gief generals 2!

Need a Battlefield retrospective it rarely let me down this series let me down too many time as in RA3, as in the AI in Zero Hour they were much better in Generals and would seek holes in defence.

Some game sequels get better over time and some are stuck in the past glory so badly, that they don't realize it's not 1990's anymore. CC 1, Heroes of M&M, Red Alert, Sim City, Dune, Warcraft, Colonization, UFO - that was something back then. But look at some of those titles now. Red Alert was complete crap, one of the worst games launched last year. Warcraft - bs as well. Heroes - omg... CC4 ? Are you still thinking that implementing movies in the game is your winning card ? It was cool in 1995, but now ? Gameplay is total crap, it's not strategy, it's a puzzle game at most, strategy or tactics is not present at any time of the game, my 4 years old nephew can easily play CC on a hard mode... Why don't you people start thinking from the very concept of the game, not from how it will look ?

Command and Conquer is amazing. It's outrageous that they're bringing an end to the Tiberium saga - the one time we actually want EA to keep milking the franchise, they decide to call it quits on us. And to all the people wondering where Westwood went, I have one word for you - Petroglyph. That's where nearly everybody at Westwood went to. Their first game under that label, Star Wars - Empire at War, and its expansion, Forces of Corruption, is still a ton of fun to play - I highly recommend it. Their next game, Universe at War, was also good, but don't even think about trying the Xbox version. Their latest game, Mytheon, isn't out yet, but it looks really interesting - check it out, and support Petroglyph!

westwood was the company that started it, and made the series what it is. EA has nothing. Since there gameplay is crap, all they can think of is putting BS in it like girls with their tops undone. If thats the best you can come up with then they really have no idea what they are doing. Make it real and epic, not cartoon bullcrap with useless girls.

red alert 1 and 2 was the best in the franchise. bring back westwood studio!

Hands down, the best series ever. Been playing since I was a kid with the original Red Alert. Own every game. Hell March is the best intro song imho. Get's the blood flowing.

I'm also a big fan of the C&C franchise and I even own all the C&C games out including the expansions packs. And when C&C 4 is released I shall add it to my collection. Also I sill play the C&C Generals:Zero Hour the most. I too agree with boogie pop. ^_^

I wouldn't do ANYTHING for a stupid Klondike bar. NOW JUST PLAY THE MOVIE AND GET RID OF THE ADS GAMESPOT.

me?i grew up with cnc series.since i was a young kid,i played red alert.every expansion,every unnoficial mod,i tried.ra1 and ra2 is THE BEST!darn it ea,ra3 was hopeless.we dont care much about the graphics.yes.,i admit ra3 has really beautiful graphics,but the epic story,the seriousness,and the mood those two games earlier brought is more than enough.i kinda hate ra3.its like a parody of cnc,like mocking the franchise with westwood rather than creating an epic game instead.i remember playing ra2 campaign over n over again like 10 times or more.for tiberium series,yeah,cnc 3 is the best for me.it has a balanced score of the campaign,story and graphics.,

i'm missing westwood's games.. c&c was my all times favorite game (espeacilly tiberian sun my all times n all genres fav game).. ea really a stupid company. how can even get the company works i can't understand that. they can easilly destroy an amazing story and atmosphere.. there are comments upsets me. just remember that,kidos c&c never was a 3d graphics engine demo.. so ea's all games when released they are like half processed. but there are really nice comments too ^_^ LONG LIVE KANE !! peace through power..

I loved playing the first Red Alert when I was a kid on PlayStation :D It was fun :P But I really like Red Alert 3 sound track :)

The first Red Alert and Hell March.... the best game in the series and the best track from all of them too.

CNC3 set the bar extremely high, it's probably my favorite RTS game ever made to date overall. I just hope they give the Tiberian saga a good, epic ending.
