User Rating: 10 | Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 GBA
Super Mario World was a big leap from Super Mario Bros 3, with colored graphics, new enemies, new style of stages, and with 7 new bosses this game easily revolutionize the 2D platforming formula for Mario. Now take all that and squeeze it into a tiny GBA cartridge and what you'll end with is a miracle. This huge game is now available on the GBA with enhanced graphics and sounds and minor tweaks here and there. The graphics are gorgeous considering its a small hand held, colorful environments combined with solid shadings makes this game one of the most graphically advanced on the GBA. The sounds are beautifully crafted with a unique nostalgic tune for each set of environment. The GBA version allows players to switch between Mario and Luigi, which gives the game a new twist with Luigi's higher jumps and less traction. This is one of the most hardest and full of content out of all the 2D Mario games. In order to get through the worlds, secret exits, ghost houses, and find switches Mario/Luigi would have to use everything within their disposal, power ups such as the cape and Yoshis, and being able to explore through the environment and find secrets within surroundings to truly get everything in the game. Super Mario World proves to be great fun yet again but this time on a smaller to go screen. It has been nicely ported with comfortable controls and a few enhancements. Super Mario World is a great addition to the GBA library, proving to be one of if not the best games on the handheld console.
