True Crime Series continues
Lets face it here this is an obvious clone of GTA. The only major difference was the fact that it was an asian main character but overall this series has copied gta to a tee. In this game you play an undercover cop that infiltrates a triad gang. You do the usual mission based progression of the story with the usual side quests. You also can search the city for health and for boxes to give you various items like clothes money and weapons. The major difference for me is that that missions are more fight based then weapons. In gta a majority of the missions are based upon having a firearm and shooting away. This game focuses more on hand to hand combat with few missions based on just gun play. To me its a refreshing difference to the usual missions. Be forewarned though the whole fight based missions after awhile can be frustrating. It will remind you of the old bruce lee movies where he was surrounded by 15 guys and one guy attacks at a time. Learning the art of countering is key but overall it can get boring quickly with this fight system.
Lucky that that is just a part of the game. You have the usual driving missions and race missions which if that is your thing they have it here. A major negative to me is the control. Vehicle control is pretty bad at times so it makes it difficult to drive. You get cop points if you do missions without making too much damage. With the controls being bad its next to impossible to do a mission without hitting something let alone somethings. Making turns at high speeds forget it you will be hitting many things. Turning around even worse which again makes the game frustrating.
The graphics are pretty good with people walking all over the place doing things while you do your missions. The music is ok but after awhile hearing the same songs over and over again can be frustrating. I wish they had an option where you could turn the music off while driving. This game is a lot of fun and I would recommend it. If you like gta you will like this game. Its very simple to pick up and play and after awhile you will be hooked.
