@mikemaj82: Funny thing about this is that when a franchise goes MIA people cry and blame the responsible Publisher for not giving it love.

Damn you Nintendo for not giving my Starfox, F-Zero, Pikmin (pre-Pikmin 4), Kid Icarus, Eternal Darkness, Mother 3 official translation and so on

@DavidinCT: ok? Good for you? I don't know why you're replying that to me, I made no mention about anything in regards to the Vita.

@mycatismilk: PSP actually did solid. 80 mil sold, it's above what the 3ds sold. It was pre touchscreen phones becoming the norm so handhelds that weren't from Nintendo still had a chance.

The DS kicked it's butt left and right with almost double the sales, but it still did decent enough for a successor.

@beestung: Some games within Nintendo have rules, I agree. For example, Miyamoto doesn't want Nintendo characters meshing with eath other outsode of smash and only one 3D mario game per gen. Galaxy 2 was an outlier and you can tell Miyamoto doesn't like with it's exclusion from the trilogy and its barely mentioned from them.

That said, good games have died within Nintendo due to low sales. F-Zero GX was really freaking good, probably the best futuristic racer of all time and its low sales killed the franchise in 3D. Then the low sales of the GBA follow ups killed that franchise entirely. Fanbase clamors for another one but can you blame Nintendo for being hesitant after the last one tanked? Star Fox was also dormant and probably more so now that Zero was poorly received.

That's what I meanby when a game fails due to fan support even when it's good, its on the fanbase. (F-Zero) However if we don't support it because it sucks, its on the developer (StarFox)

@girlusocrazy: Not if it sells well. Nintendo is known to put priority on games that perform well.

Fire Emblem Awakening was supposed to be the last Fire emblem as the previous ones tanked, it out performed expectations and look at how many of them we've gotten till now.

So if it goes dormant again, blame is on the fanbase. If it underperforms because of quality, blame is on the developer

2 years ago, I would've been like eh ok.

But due to Sony's recent boner for Live service, I hope this doesn't happen.

Neither Microsoft, Sony nor Nintendo would be a good fit for from software.

Microsoft does jack shit with the studios it aqcuires, Sony with the recent live service crap, Nintendo would be the best option from the aspect that they let these studios do whatever they want (like monolith) but people complain about their hardware all the time and their online infrastructure sucks.

Staying with Bamco is the best option if you ask me as Bamco isn't hurting for money.
