Dueling (Plastic) Guitars Pt.2

Song of the Day: Alive by Pearl Jam

I have to get one thing off my chest very quickly:

BROKEN WHAMMY BAR= EPIC FAIL. YOU BIZZNATCHES AND YOUR FAULTY EQUIPMENT MAY HAVE COSTED ME A CHANCE TO ADVANCE.

But, anyways. That is one impression, the equipment is a tad faulty. The game lagged, even when calibrated. Despite this, I managed an FC of Even Flow on Medium:P. I only had to play one song anyways and I had 3 tries. The problem was, the absense of extra points from the extra star power I could've gotten SCREWED with my SP path for the song, and may have just costed me a chance to advance, due to the fact a bunch of lucky fellows in some other cities more than likely had working equipment, seeing as they had at least 4 thousand more points than me with their FCs on the website's highscore boards.

So, playing with a Wii Les Paul/sans hyperspeed was quite the unnerving experience. I showed off first with Cities In Flames With Rock and Roll and 3s and 7s on expert (I seriously doubt anyone there played expert:P) I got decent scores on each.

So anyways, I just have to wait until I get an e-mail, notice to my house etc. I gave information and stuff so that they could let me know if I advance or not, but I seriously doubt I will.

So, I guess I just have to kill about 3 or 4 people to advance by default:twisted:

Nah, I kid.

Dueling (plastic) Guitars Pt.1

Well, at noon today (over here in Germany, that is only about 40 min or so away) is the beginning of a Guitar Hero 3 Tournement at a nearby Media MarktFamilia Center (The Media Markt is an electronics storemusic storevideo game store and that kind of stuff, the entire Familia Center is essentially a German Mall.)

Now, I'm participating in it. The tournement is huge, lasting for almost a month I believe. And the Media Markt I'm going to is just one of countless Media Markts that have either had players from their area play already, or are waiting. People all over Germany are competing.

And the grand prize for this huge tournement? A CAR.

The tournement goes on for a while, some of the top players to come out of it face each other for a chance to win A CAR.

Now, I have to go in a few minutes. But here is a little insight:

  1. I have to play on Medium today appearantly, so I'm not too worried.
  2. The songs I have to play are Even Flow and Hier Kommt Alex.
  3. I'm playing with a Wii Les Paul
  4. Just from my house, I played both songs on medium and ALREADY beat the top scores of each highest ranking player in the tournement already:P. (But not all players have played yet)
  5. I'm terrible with other controllers besides my own:(.

Alright, I have to bolt. More details and impressionsoutcomes later.

Wish me luck....

Stupid Genius.

SONG OF THE DAY: Turnin On The Screw by Queens Of The Stone Age

Today, I watched a rather INTERESTING movie...no wait...ORIGINAL movie....no that can't describe it....

Alright, I'm going to describe this movie in a numerous number of ways, since it's the only way you can describe it. All synonyms of the word "stupid":

absurd, addled, anserine, asinine, blockish, bovine, brainless, brutish, clod, cloddish, crass, cretinous, dazed, dense, dimwitted, dizzy, doltish, dopey, dull, dumb, dumbbell, dunce, fatuous, foolish, footless, foppish, hebetate, idiot, idiotic, imbecile, imbecilic, imperceptive, inane, insensate, irrational, irresponsible, lethargic, loutish, moronic, oafish, obtuse, oscitant, pointless, purblind, senseless, silly, simple, torpid, unintelligent, unwise, vacuous....

AND GENIUS???!?

Now, what you just witnessed was one hell of an oxymoron, but I assure you, when a movie of this magnitude of stupidity but sheer imaginative and simply RANDOM quality is actually capable of exhisting, it surely means that the individual that created said movie is (Most if not all of the synonyms of stupid) but at the same time is probably one of the smartest (if not most stoned) people on the ****ing planet.

Now, I'm sure you really are wondering what such movie could this be? And who you need to go find and lock up for having such imagination?

Well my friends:

It's the 80s C1assic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail! :). Possibly the greatest movie ever MADE.

...... you can discuss my worthless buildup while I hide my head in partial shame:P.

4th Of July

No not 4th Of July by Soundgarden, but that is good too:P.

Today, I went to a rather large festival featuring attractions, food, trivia and prizes (one question which my dad answered correctly, yay), and best of all, a live band by the name of "Edison". I've never heard of them before, but I have to admit, they can JAM. I snagged a free CD by them from the lead singer, their finisher was a cover of Highway To Hell, and I was right in front of the band along with a small mob of people also headbanging and reaching for free merchendise:D. But in an overview, they were an alternative rock band with a range from spacious and light songs to some great heavy stuff as well. They hail from New York, and they also covered Roadhouse Blues and Love Me Twice by The Doors, Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin, and Bullet the Blue Sky by U2. All in all, great stuff.

Besides the music and stuff, before I was even at the festival, I picked up Bleach by Nirvana for 6 euros. It was a great deal, but I must say Bleach is VERY different. It takes some getting used to, but I think it will grow on me after I get over the fact Kurt Cobain adores redundency, besides that it's pretty good.

Now back to the festivities, the army chorus and band were doing their thing. They are definitely good at what they do, even if most of what they sung didn't fall under what kind of stuff I listen to. (i.e Love songs, contemporary party songs, funk, dance, ABBA). But towards the end, they did a meadley of Queen songs, and they nailed it there, that was fricken awesome. And it also reminded me and my dad that we didn't have ANY Queen songs in our I Tunes library, so we bought Stone Cold c1assics along with I Wanna Break Free when we got home from the lame fireworks display. Seriously, it hooks you for a moment, but when the finale sucks that bad, it makes the whole thing seem bad.

So now, it's late, I had a great 4th of July, and I hope everyone else on Gamespot did as well.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

Crying an ocean inside.

I never cry at any special emotional occasions, and it wasn't any different for my last day of Middle School. But it just got me, inside. I have a few friends leaving, and I really am going to hate not having them at High School.

The emotion of realizing personal growth and figuring out first hand that you're going to be out in that big bad world on your own without all of your friends and family behind you all of the time is like a time bomb throbbing slowly. Yet as you ignore the throb, you notice one day that the bomb only has a few precious seconds left before it sets off, destroying the protective walls that restricted that frightening yet beautiful freedom that you can only grasp when you come of age.

High School is my gateway to a whole new challenge, the challenge of taking freedom and success for what it is, something you want to achieve but are scared to approach. At least, these are my thoughts.

Goodbye Earth, hello Heaven. Or then again, is it Hell?

-Verdugo

..... (Yes, he is speechless)

Yesterday was the single most awesome day of my life. When I figure out how to, I'll try to describe the Kiss concert the best I can...cause it's indescribable.

Let's just say for now that Kiss ISNT OLD, THEY STILL GOT IT MAN!

-Verdugo

What? It's only 3 people? (revised)

About a week ago, me and my dad ordered R30 (Rush's 30th anniversary concert live DVD etc.), and it arrived in the mail today. And in my opinion, the concert is fantastic. I have never gotten over the fact that such brilliant music and theactrical sounds can be acccomplished by the skill of only 3 people, but Rush is just awesome like that I guess:D.

Another thing that has been going on is that me and my friends are going to play School's Out at a talent show on June 6th. We auditioned today and I had a real good time playing in front of a few friends who were watching and waiting to also audition for other acts etc. Playing in a rock band>all.

It's gotten very hot over here and with the coming heat is an event that I'm sure will be one of the most exhilerating moments of my life:

I GET TO GO SEE KISS ON JUNE 10TH!

I have never been to a concert before (gasp now), and to have the privilage to see Kiss as my first rock concert is fricken awesome. That day is going to be memorable.

Oh yeah, and I don't completely suck at guitar now. I have been practicing my Guitar so much that my fretting fingers have become incredibly thick at the tips and callused. The song I am mainly trying to clean up and play as well as I possibly can is School's Out, and the judge says my guitar playing is pretty darn good, so I figure I'm safe there.

adios por el momento (goodbye for the moment)

-Verdugo

A LATE EDIT:

I am no longer going to play School's Out with my band, and the talent show is tomorrow on June 10th. Instead, I'm doing a riff medley with a sick solo at the end, which was my backup plan:P.

And 2 days ago, I bought the rest of my needed Rock Band periphrials. I am currently at Run To The Hills on hard drums career, and I've only failed Detroit Rock City and Next To You on the way. I just tryed Run To The Hills, and got to 40% and then failed, because Harmonix are jackasses and they made the song freakin hard.

adios por el momento realmente esta bes! (goodbye for the moment for real this time!)
