@gns: I think it will. I put over 60 hours in. While I did love the game, well when it worked but I have a beefy PC so I am blessed, it pretty much was an unfinished game. There are signs everywhere of systems that are not finished.
1. Police - The current system feels very placeholder while the real one will come out later. Evidence is that Police that are spawned in world near a Patrol car, they will get in and pursue you. If you get far away though they lose all aggro. To me it's a sign of something not being done.
2. Roads. If you pay attention to sloped roads some of them are nice and smooth and others are jagged. Again, leads me to believe they aren't done with some of those either since the quality changes on certain ones.
3. Placeholder text on some signs
4. Endless on top of endless bugs.
5. Being a passenger in a car while an AI companion drives. You can tell it wasn't done. Especially a lot of the Action set pieces in the Panam storyline.
6. Audio not in some of the set pieces. Times where in a "cut scene" some audio is not there.
Probably a few more I can't think of. I don't blame anyone for giving up though. I had a few really bad sessions where I got off in frustration. They should not of released the game I can say that for sure. While it is fucked up right now I think they will get it where it should be. I can tell you the story to me was amazing. The only reason I kept playing.
The problem here is that there are too many reviewers on Gamespot. It makes all the reviews feel inconsistent and stupid. While I haven't played 2077 the largest consistent is definitely issues with bugs.
The problem is I find it very, very unlikely that WD Legion, Valhalla or TLoU P2 is better than 2077 (maybe they are). Cold War was a pretty lackluster CoD and is in no way standing near 2077. This is the reason why people take someone say like ACG on YouTube a lot more seriously is because we have consistency.
"The incorporation of different cultures and backgrounds is wildly inconsistent, from good to inaccurate to downright offensive"
^What is this? Ripping someone's head off is fine but a fictional interpretation of a fictional culture in a dystopian world is where you have some issues? This does not make sense to me.
I understand reviews are literally opinions but something like this strays so far from Objectivity that I struggle to take the review serious at all. I've been on Gamespot for a long time and the reviews have never been any good and I believe its because there are too many people reviewing games on here.
Gamespot, you have to figure it out. There should be no more than say 5 people reviewing games for you guys. I still think 5 is too many but it would definitely help make the reviews seem more cohesive. Again, I can't take you guys seriously because every review is essentially RNG.
If someone is looking at reviews RNG is not good. Change the person who reviewed it to say Jordan Ramee and maybe the game gets a 9. So what does Gamespot think about 2077? No one really knows.
Maybe have multiple people review the same game and take their average combined. Anything would be better than the current system of 10+ (idk how many exactly) individuals reviewing games.
This is exactly why I think so many people get upset in the comments section. Granted no reason to be a toxic PoS but this is definitely part of the reason why it happens.
I guess ill watch it on another service that doesn't require me to own it. $45 for a movie is insane. Disney's 4K movies are $30... I mean Disney set that bar at $30 and we throw another $15 on it lol.
@zarpie: I do care, my point is the masses will not care. Kids are growing up without privacy online and parents are to ignorant to worry about it. My point is simply trying to spread the word won't do anything.
My other point is if you are connected to the internet at all you are exposed. You don't need to install this game to have your privacy lost. If you are using Windows or Mac, you have no privacy off the bat. Using Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc? Congratulations. No privacy.
Being online forfeits privacy. It's the nature of the beast.
@justthetip: Considering one UHD Digital movie costs $25 to $30 I would say $18 is still pretty damn cheap. While you may consider the content not very watchable millions do so many would say it is worth it.
