@swiller: It was the first to add climb down mechanic. It was not perfect here but way better then past games and paved way for future titles. The multiplayer was the best ever. Coop missions with story cutscenes. Also real stealth for first time. Could croutch and take cover behind things. Shocking AC had not done this yet. Full story side quests, investigating (ala witcher), puzzle missions all for first time here. The assianations also were big set pieces harkening back to first game and the stealth updates really elevated it. Also Paris was amazing. I really liked this one!
It was buggy in crowd scenes but only hard crashed on me once on air baloon mission. I did not like all the chests (too many). The companion app was ambitious but very dissapointing to Black Flag one which I loved. Too bad it's the last one we saw. Paid dlc was meh.
Picked up Handsome collection for $10 and never opened it. Glad I have it. Want to try the presequel just need some friends to roll with. Hit me up April 3 on PS4
I am kind of with @investor9872on this. A little bit pushing blame from Henning. Had to know how EA operates when she accepted the project. Many competent playing third person frostbite games from EA. Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Battlefront, Army of Two (Viseral). Overhead of studio is a EA corp decesion. If the game met expectations they would have stuck with it. Hell they invested more money to get a new studio to take it over. Also plenty of great single player experiences with successful multiplayer components. Uncharted 2-4, Last of Us, GTA V, Call of Duties.
No doubt EA is and was making poor decesions. Henning took the payday...we must share in success and in failures too.
