Back in the day, King's Quest was perma-death... for me. I didn't know it had a save feature, LOL. I guess I had my fill back then. But I do like the idea of consequences for death, ala Demon's Souls, as long as it is woven into the gameplay and not just a frustration, such as games that don't provide enough checkpoints.
@TheAgingGamer I think this really means that other members of Bad Robot would be handling most of the work, while given minimal oversight from J.J. No doubt most of his attention will be focused on Star Wars. It's kinda how Spielberg has put his name on a ton of stuff that past few years, when you know there is no way he did it all himself. Still, the end result embodies Spielberg, and I think the same of J.J. and Bad Robot.
@fatee I was referring to the Games for Windows store, now known as XBOX PC Games. It's the only place you can buy a downloadable copy of Gears of War, so Microsoft has typically been anti-Steam on their big XBOX franchises.
That would be two surprises: 1) that Halo 3 is coming to PC, and 2) that MS allows it to be put on Steam. Gears of War is only available for download on the XBOX PC (Games for Windows) site, and Halo 1&2 are only on disc. Still, maybe Microsoft has seen the light.
