@hardwenzen: I beat all of Rage 2 with the pistol you start with and didn’t upgrade it at all. If a game has mechanics that are unattractive and unnecessary it’s entirely legitimate to ignore them. Seems like a lot of games these days, especially open world ones, like to add a lot of unnecessary filler including entire game mechanics that feel wholly superfluous.
@tsunami2311: It's just a thing PCs have had for quite some time already and the consoles, while having Gen 4 PCIE, don't actually have NVME drives that will saturate that bandwidth. PCs already have NVME SSDs that are faster than what's in these consoles.
The wildest thing to happen next gen is the PS5 still having that touchpad.
Jokes aside though, I think the innovative wild ideas are still there, but they're just not something you hold or interact with physically. Mostly software-related. Both consoles have custom tech and hardware to make load times (supposedly) very fast. The PS5 has the Tempest 3D Audio Engine that's supposed to use custom-built hardware and software algorithms to make in-game audio sound more realistic. Microsoft seems to be trying out game streaming for Xbox.
To the people screeching about SJWs: nobody was really offended by this. There was no big reaction of anger or pulling out pitchforks against Twitch over these emotes. People simply pointed out that the emotes weren’t good at representing Hispanic culture, maybe a bit insensitive, and that Twitch should try and do better than that.
