inFamous 2

You know, I've had this game since its release, and I completely forgot about it! Now playing inFamous again. As soon as I finish that one, I'm finally starting its sequel.

Diablo III

Because of some weird glitch, I had to edit my Diablo III review, dammit  :-P

The first time I finished it, there was no ending, just end credits! This translated into a huge complaint from me when writing my review, but now it turns out that was just a stupid glitch. Finished it again yesterday, and I got the ending cinematic. So, Inferno mode, here I come! I actually died a couple of times this time a round, so the ridiculously easy walk in the park is better as well. Yep, I'm addicted. It's a good thing Dark Souls 2 is still some months away.

Do people still read reviews?

In my last 5 reviews, I see I was recommended 2 out of 3 times, in total, and one of them was featured!

So, I was just wondering if people even read other people's reviews anymore. I admit I don't, really. I like reading books more than reading off a screen and usually, the Gamespot score corresponds with my tastes. Sometimes I read do read another guy's reviews (mostly if a friend posted one) and then I recommend or not.

So, just posted a Diablo 3 review for PS3. That's fairly new, so I'll see if that gets any readers. I like writing, a lot, but it's no fun if there's no-one to read my stuff.

Which reminds me: don't read this, I'm in a writing mood as it seems, and tend to ramble  ;-)

Xbox One vs. a brick

Xbox One

So yeah, this seems pretty obvious. I'm not a fan of the PS4 because it's not backwards compatible, and I don't want to re-buy more than $1000 worth of games, but this spy device! This limited virtual-bondage piece of expensive crap! Come on, is anyone seriously considering to buy this??? I can't fathom that. You have 0 freedom, you can never play used games unless you pay the full price, and it spies on you all the time! It's a good thing it's really cheap. Oh, wait...

Torment

I've known Kickstarter for a while, but never had the urge to support something. And then, a new "Torment" game was announced there. Needless to say, I jumped in and supported this one. If it's even remotely like Planescape: Torment, I know I'll have a great time with it.

This also made me re-play Planescape: Torment. I can't believe I found some new things yet again. Love this game, one of the best RPG's ever, and I played a LOT of them.

Dark Souls 2, gameplay trailer revealed!

Arguably the best game I have ever played on a console is Dark Souls. I have literally spent 224 hours playing it. Suffice to say it was as addictive as beetle snuff is to a Ferengi (I wrote this one for you, fellow geeks!). Now, enthusiasm galore, as the gameplay trailer for Dark Souls 2 just went online!

Combined with the trailer I saw before, this actually gave me goosebumps. I can imagine my girlfriend's frustration when I'll pre-order this little gem, but hey, I didn't bother her when she was addicted to Heart of the Swarm  ;-)

So, I was a bit worried when they first announced the game would be easier. I never felt more satisfaction in a game (apart from when I finally killed Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2), and it was because some parts were really very difficult to overcome. I'm a VERY experienced gamer, and I felt that most games take you by the hand nowadays, making sure it's not too dificult to win. But not these games. They're brutal, and they make you respect your enemies. Underestimate them at the risk of a "You died" screen. That's what made Demon's Souls so good, and they did an ever better job with Dark Souls.

Seeing this trailer put my mind at ease. It's obvious you have to be careful, don't get too overconfident when fighting a clumsy enemy, and always, always mind your surroundings. I admit there was a grin on my face when I saw the dracolich take one last bite at the player, and I already went "gods, I can fight a LOT better than this guy" when two armoured enemies drove him into a corner.

Yep, as soon as this hits the stores, it'll be in my ever growing collection as well. Look at this trailer, and you'll feel the same way. http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/04/10/dark-souls-2-gameplay-reveal-12-minute-demo

Reviewer of the month? WTF?

So, it turns out I'm one of the reviewers of the month (March) with my review of Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm! Now that was a pleasant surprise, especially as I thought hardly anyone reads my little reviews. I just write them for fun and to pass the time. Now that I know people are actually interested in reading my stuff, I'll try to write a bit more, and better.  :-)

That does mean I'll have to start playing games again. Work is horrific at the moment, I still have to start playing Assassin's Creed 3! Guess I'll have to blow the dust off my PS3 and start having fun with that thing again.

Playstation 4

So, the PS4 will be a fact. If everything goes as planned: by the end of this year even. Apart from some changes Sony told us about, there is little to know...

No pictures or even concepts of the console, no release titles, no nothing. And then we also heard there will be no backwards compatibility. Are they kidding? I spent a lot of money on my PS1 and PS2 games, and the ones I kept are really good, even if the graphics aren't exactly great for today's standards. That was the reason I didn't have a problem buying a PS3.

Because of the hated YLoD (Yellow Light of Death), I had to buy a new one which wasn't compatible at all, and spent even more money re-buying my loved PS2 titles like some Final Fantasy games.

So, if the new PS4 isn't compatible with my PS3 games, then it won't be compatible with me either. I don't mind if Sony makes some money, but I spent a LOT on my many, MANY PS3 games and I'm not throwing them out just because a corporation sees dollar signs instead of happy customers. Make it compatible and I'll buy it as soon as it hits the stores. If not: I think I'll be happy with my PS3 for many more years. After all, it's only recently they stopped making PS2 games, so I doubt I'll regret not having a PS4 for many years to come.

Video games cause evil

So, because of another shooting in the US (not all too long ago), I heard that, once again, some morons are rallying to ban violence out of videogames, because it's OBVIOUS videogames cause you to get a gun and shoot people, duh!

I'm glad shootings like that don't happen in Japan. Clearly because, you know, Japan doesn't have any videogames. At all. So they're safe.
