Buying used doesn't kill

So I've been seeing a lot of these *Used game market is killing the game market* BS. Like today for example, Volition Inc. gave their 2 cents on the matter and agree that used games kills the market, and they want to see Microsoft create the new Xbox with the "Block used games feature"

I completely disagree with all of these asshats, it's not the used game markets fault for their failure in communication and their lack of creating games that are fair to the consumor.

Here's a list of what is killing the game market;

Over Obsessive DRM (We just want to play, we don't want to go through 10 differnt steps to get the game working)

Online Pass (If we're forced to buy brand new, then whats the point of buying it at all, some of us can't afford a new game every 6 months)

Requiring Constant Internet Connection (I can't stand games where you have to have a constant internet connection, maybe I want to travel with my laptop and enjoy it, but I can't since I have no internet)

Day 1 Release DLC (If the entire game isn't in the $60 package I just bought, and basicly forcing us to buy DLC that should have made it in the initial release, then no thanks, you got a deal breaker.)

5 Ticket Activation (I'm tired of some games that only let you activate it 5 or so times till you have to wait 30 days to be able to reactivate, or times when you have to activate the game, and you forget to uninstall it properly, so you lost one of your tickets.

1 Time Activation (This is actually where I hate steam, if I buy a full retail copy of a specific game, I'd expect to just to install and play, but when you have to have steam to activate, and maybe you bought it during vacation, then you have to wait to get home, or go to a friends house, or even go to your local Mcdonalds just to activate on steam and then play *which isn't safe on public wi-fi, since it has it's security flaws*)

Selling games used is good for the game market, it let's people buy games at a cheaper price if they can't afford it brand new or if you want to wait for a price drop. Most of my games I have bought either new, or used, most of my 360 collection is used, example, I bought Shadowrun on 360 for $3.50, old game, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the game at launch, since it has very little content to offer.

Companies need to stop their b!tching and need to open their eyes for a change, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

They are the ones corrupting the game market.

They are the ones ripping the gamers off.

They are the ones forcing us to buy new, when some of us can't, or don't want to.

They are the ones making some games crappy, with little single player, and just more multiplayer, with little to no content to really offer.

Some games I am more then willing to spend the full $60 on, but not every single one since I can't afford it, so it's nice to buy it used at a cheaper price.

I will always be supporting Gamestop and Amazon for their game market, great titles at a fair price, even if I have to wait a bit to buy them.

Power to the gamers!

What are you're thoughts on the matter? As you can tell, I'm not a fan, and if this decides to be the norm, then it looks like I am out the game business.

My hot new toy

My 3DS finally came! Still waiting for Street Fighter 4 though :( hopefully it comes today. But all and all, so far I love it! I have downloaded the Resident Evil Revelations demo and I gotta say....It's fantastic!!! The controls are what really takes the cake (even though we all know the cake is a lie) The graphics are very impressive for a handheld device and the sound is great as well. The 3D on the other hand...I like the capability but it gives me a headache and some eye strain after a few, probably just need to get use to it but when you do get the chance to look at it, it's very impressive (just make sure to not move around to much) So far I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm glad that I decided to buy one.

Once Street Fighter 4 is here it will be time to kick some ass and chew some bubble gum (to bad I am all out of gum though)

Go dark or Get hot

Trying to decide wether I should go with the Cosmo black 3DS or the Flame red 3DS. What do you think?

On a side note, I finally got my room/studio cleaned up and also gotta start rearanging my other desk and get rid of clutter in here. So far I am very happy with the way things are, but I could use a little de-clutter. Got a custom built desk from my Grandpa last weekend, I love having a grandfather who can build custom furniture, I didn't ask for this, but it was something I was looking for, for a youtube live stream me and a few friends have been wanting to start. Anyway.... Good night Gamespotters =)

Games of 2011 *That I have played*

Today I will be sharing my top list of games that I have played that came out in 2011. Along with giving my list I will also be sharing my own short personal opinions on them as well.

Here we go!

#9: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

If you've followed the Call of Duty franchise since Call of Duty 4 you wont find much has changed or exciting about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Sadly I am tired of CoD and wont be finding myself owning this one anytime soon.

#8: Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 was a lot of fun, it added in a new gamemode *Horde mode* that kept me coming back to play it more. The story along that was great and had a good ending along with it.

#7: Mortal Kombat

I've been a fan of Mortal Kombat and this one went back to the original feel of the franchise! All the original characters plus a lot more *some I've never heard of either* if you love fighting games with lot's of gore then I completely recommend picking up Mortal Kombat (2011).

#6: Saints Row The Third

I prefer Saints Row The Third over the first two Saints Row games, the big reason why is you don't have to play minigames to progress the story. Funny and better to Grand Theft Auto if you just want to have fun and not looking for a serious game.

#5: Bastion

Great cartoony RPG with the best narriation I've heard in years. Short but lot's of fun.

#4: Minecraft

Endless open world, lot's to mine, fight zombies, creepers, spiders, endermen, build whatever you want and the most addicting indie game you'll find in awhile.

#3: Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

There isn't much to say about Skyrim that hasn't already been said, but if you like the Elder Scrolls games then you will love Skyrim, no doubt about it.

#2: Battlefield 3

Battlefield doesn't disipoint, with a great single player experience to the main reason you'll buy this game (obviously being the multiplayer) then you'll find Battlefield 3 in your collection in a heart beat, lot's to unlock, 100 ranks to level up to and a hell of a lot of fun had online.

#1: The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

Out of all the Zelda games Skyward Sword is in my top 3 of the best in the series. The controls are excellent, the story is phenomenal, the characters are all memorable, and the graphics set the tone of the game. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is a Legend in it's own and can't be missed if your a die hard Zelda fanatic like me.

Happy New Years! Onward to 2012

What the years over already? It feels like just yesterday it was 2011, oh wait....it...was...Anyway Just thought I'd wish you all on Gamespot a Happy New Years! 2012 the year that it all [______] Well I don't believe in that garbage, the world will be just fine the next day and forever on, it's just an excuse to cause people to panic, aside from that...

What are you planning to do for New Years?

and what is your News Years Resolution?

I haven't put much thought into it, but I will update my blog when I do come up with something.

Take it wasy friends and see you in the new year!

Wii gonna have fun tonight!

Just bought a new Wii after Christmas, I can now play Skyward Sword without borrowing my parents Wii. =D

I am so excited! This will make Let's Playing the game much easier, and now I wont have to disconnect and reconnect equipment.

How was your guys Christmas?

Get some stuff you wanted?

I mostly asked for Zelda Skyward Sword and that was pretty much it, didn't really want much this year, most of the time it's just a few games, clothes or some cash. I'm happy with just about anything =)

Take it easy guys and enjoy your New Year!

Merry Christmas and Farewell

Merry Christmas Gamespot! It's the 4th year I have blogged for this holiday and I have to say... It never gets old! =D

Christmas, what an awesome holiday, friends, family, and the great Christmas spirit. Christmas is one of my favorite holiday's, it's the one that really brings our loved ones together and closer, the Christmas spirit you get from everybody (almost everyone that is =P)

My Grandparents are coming to visit and can't wait for that, it's been awhile since I've seen them since I moved. Family and friends have always been important to me, theres so much of my family I miss due to passings, and I don't really come from the biggest family in the world, But seeing as much of them as I can during the Holidays is the best gift of all and wouldn't want it any other way.

The only thing I asked for this Christmas was Zelda Skyward Sword with the golden wiimote controller. I've noticed when we all grow up, our wishlists get smaller and smaller, I could careless about what I get anymore, give me some nice comfy clothes and a game or two and I'll be happy. Remember when you were younger, your wishlist would be pretty big, asking for Lego's that new video game console and acouple of games to go with it, we'd never wanted clothes when we were younger and when we did we never appreciated them, but now since were a lot older we couldn't ask for a better gift for Christmas, gotta stay warm and good looking =).

What are guys wanting for Christmas?

and

What are you going to be during this wonderful Holiday season?

On a side note, I am considering stopping my blogs, I'm kind of tired of putting up a new one and not getting any comments on it =( I feel like I'm losing the connection between my fellow Gamespot friends, feedback is nice to get and saying hi to my Gamespot friends feels good inside =) I can understand if some of them are un-interesting to you, or *hey look this lame-o has something else to show off (lol) * or if you guys are busy, but still it's nice to hear from you =)
Anyway take it easy everyone and...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO ALL, AND ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Welcome to my job

Along with my PC editing station, I also have a Mac editing station (for all my non-gaming related videos, and strictly professional videos)

I use an iBook G4 with Final Cut Studio 2, it might not be as powerful as say the MacBook Pro I want, but it does the job surprising well, most of my clients shoot in SD and this little guy does the job perfectly. Along with having a second monitor to see for a bigger screen and a drawing tablet to make cuts faster, It's a pretty sweet setup and I enjoy everything I do. What can I say I love video so much. =)

I am also a photographer, the silver camera is mine, and the black one is my parents (I was just downloading photos for them)

For photographery I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT (Silver camera)

Take my word for it, *I am not rich in any way!* It has taken me years and years of hard work to get where I am now.

So now you've seen both of my setups, I am going to bed.

Good night Gamespotters!

~Josh

*If your interested, I can make a video to show you guys my entire gaming collection*
