@treechopper88: I love the 3DS version! Don't get me wrong but some of the changes they made to do did rub me wrong. Here is a great video that outlines all the changes: https://youtu.be/653wuaP0wzs . I still like it but the N64 version still reigns Supreme for me
@treechopper88: hard disagree. Also, as a programmer myself, Breath of the Wild is in no universe lazy programming. It's actually a really impressive technical achievement to get a game like that running on extremely modest hardware like the Switch. Also, being able to head to Gannondorf's castle at anypoint is an ingenious design decision that encourages the player to assess their own readiness rather than wait until they reach some arbitrary point in the game. Breath of the Wild is positively incredible. You welcome to feel the way you do. I just can't agree. :)
@rolento25: Hot take: not only is Breath of the Wild better than OOT, it's not even close. Oot open world was only window dressing for the game's story. BOTW's world feels lived in and alive littered with surprises. It's world is the game and that is beautiful to me. The dungeons aren't as strong as they were in previous Zeldas but they felt like genuine discoveries. I'll never forget following the torch's embers to find the master sword or falling upon a distant island that takes away everything I have and tasks me to survive. It's weapon system, though flawed in some ways, challenged me to experiment and to improvise. It's a masterpiece. That said, Majoras Mask is my all time favorite lol
@kurohei: Majoras Mask hit me harder then any Zelda game ever could. I dream of a Nintendo Switch Remake of it that's more faithful than the 3DS version was.
@soccer676: Personally, I think Breath of the Wild is more Zelda than all of them since it mostly iterates on the concept introduced in the very first Zelda game. However, I'd love to see a spiritual successor to twilight princess. It would be incredible to witness Nintendo take a crack at another realistic, darker Zelda. Although I'm not ready for them to deviate from Breath of the Wild's incredible design structure quite yet. I've played pretty much every Zelda game and I was really tired with the formula after Skyward Sword so Breath of the Wild really brought the magic back for me.
