I think there are quite a few people who are confused about the characters being the same and just using whoever your favourites are.

There are primary roles for each character, the first 3 starting roles they have until the other 3 roles are unlocked. I think its very important that you master their primary roles first before you turn Hope into a comando or vanille into a sentinel.
Everyone's chrystarium is incredibly different as Sazh is the only one to get Haste early in the game. Hinting that you should probably master his Synergist role first.

For me, my strongest team is Light, Fang, and Hope. They're very well balanced as a team cause you have the 2 Meds, 2 Coms, and 2 Ravs.

Keep my paradigm deck to Relentless Assault, Mystic Tower, Combat Clinic, Solidarity, Tireless Charge, and Bully. With my set paradigm as Bully.

I actually dont mind Vanille at all, I dont understand how such a big majority of people hate her so much.
I chose Sazh cause he's funny. :) but I love Light's voice actress, she's very believable.

Btw* Fang is like the strongest character in the game, how could you not think she's up there for battle?!

Easy and cheapest upgrading.

36 Sturdy bones to get x3. then if your early in the game use crankshafts. if perfect conductors and superconductors are available to you, use those instead after using the 36 sturdy bones. :)

I'm 22 hours in and I'm finally able to arrange my party the way I want to :). I set it up as Lightning, Snow, and Vanille. Guess it doesn't really matter if you want to switch your party around later 'cause they all gain the same amount of crystal points even if the ones outside of your party aren't doing anything. I love it :)

actually i think its best you stick with crystarium-izing everyones primary roles first, cause i think that's what they excel at. otherwise you'll fall behind in their primary roles and start having fang as medic who i can only assume would suck terribly compared to hope and light. even in stats fangs strength is a lot more higher than her magic. hence why she didnt have a ravager as a starting role before chapter 11.

i just go to chapter 11. and before that i've probably had maybe 4 game overs total. but just in chapter 11, that total has been incredibly surpassed, guessing about 20 gameovers so far, just with generic battles. i didint know what i was doing wrong until i realized i really need to start upgrading weapons and accesories a lot more often.

the main theme for FFXIII is slowly becoming my favourite piece of final fantasy music.
